I am so grateful for this video right now! We started this in our first A Level maths lesson today and I just had no idea what was going on (thanks 6 months off school...) so this video will be super helpful to refresh and learn!
At the hard section, for the example that has devide, should we use ( ) to group the multiples? Otherwise, the calcuation could be different

I've got one that has me stumped.
27^1/4 x 3^1/4 x (3^1/2)^-2
I know the answer is supposed to be 1, but I'm not sure how they've gotten there.
(im not sure if you're still stuck, but hopefully this helps)
I would recommned starting off by putting all of the number in the same base (base 3, meaning that everything in the equation would be put as 3 to the power of something)
27 is equal to 3^3, so we can rewrite this as follows:
(3^3)^1/4 x 3^1/4 x (3^1/2)^-2
After some simplifying, we get:
3^3/4 x 3^1/4 x 3^-1
Now its simply:
3^4/4 x 3^-1
Then:
3^1 x 3^-1, which is equal to 3^0
Since any number to the power of 0 is 1 (except for 0^0), our final answer is 1

Not just a mock exam
@@maryamnasher1138 so no exam in November because some of us have not got our results and we told that we will do exam in November this year
@@chuolkuanykuek7650 that was just an exception for last year due to pandemic otherwise only A/AS Level exams take place
