Wow, I thought I had got to a point where I was comfortable programming in CAM but you just taught me so much so quickly. Love this style of content bro keep it up
Awesome video! Love that you're straight to the point with everything. When I did my test part I used gripper jaws and was able to machine all features from one set up and then flip it over and face it to size. For anyone following this step for step I would advise when you flip the part you locate from a machined surface instead of the raw stock left over for more accuracy.
Appreciate the video! Do you know if there is a video on how to draw this in cad? Im learning as I go and want to draw it up myself then cam it myself. Appreciate the insight!
I have a question: When you flip the part and start on the "main" side you first face the part which makes sense to me. But I'm curious why you don't then re-locate off of geometry that the facing operation has revealed? When flipping the part the stock isn't always the same exact dimension from top to bottom so I'm thinking the main features might be a little off from the base of the part. Or am I not understanding this?
Had to rewatch the video and the anwser is..... I forgot that part lol. Personaly I would go with bottom back left corner with the setup 2 as it is easy to info from a stop/123 block.
