Why Jailbreak Is Dying

- Jailbreaking an iPhone once felt like a rite of passage for tech enthusiasts. At its core, jailbreaking is the process of removing software restrictions imposed by Apple on iOS, iPhone’s operating system. This allowed users to install unauthorized apps, customize the interface, and access features not available through the official App Store. However, what once was a bustling subculture within the tech community has seen a noticeable decline. So let’s find out why.
This video feels like it's just a 2 minute script on loop
LITERALLY
And the music is on loop. It's the same in all of his videos.
@@TimGmbH1 and its getting really really annoying
Don’t watch it then. 😐
@@Paradoxical124 Criticism leads to improvement. You’re a fool.
I get the feeling this video repeats it self over and over agian
Yeah I thought I was in a time loop and then I looked at the time and it was 11 Minutes
because all apple explained does is repeat the same crappy script for 10x and its annoying. unsubbed a while ago idk why he is still relevant
Absolutely correct
@@epzo lol then why are you here
@@epzohe is so good, not everything is scripted!
do yall think this script is an elaborate experiment to see how long they can loop the same script over and over again and see how long people can watch it
Hello horizon, yes I did notice a few repeating lines
honestly i wouldn’t be surprised, although as a jailbreak enthusiast i did watch the whole thing lmao 💀
Since I see you everywhere I'd like to ask what your hardest demon in geometry dash is. Pretty please🥺
HOW IS THE HORIZON HERE
nah I think it was just AI generated
it has all the characteristics of someone going to ChatGPT and saying "hey give me an 5 page script about this topic with very little information on it."
Did you use AI to explain the video
Sounds like it.
I wouldn't be suprised
This video is a copycat of another video posted a few weeks ago about the downfall of jailbreak
TLDR: modern iOS offers most of common features people jailbreak for
This could've been scripted to take less than 2 minutes while covering each point he made throughout the video.

Plus jailbreak exploits have gotten harder and harder to find as iOS grows more and more secure.
@@zachsteiner true. Also Apple snatched prominent jb devs so there’s even less to develop exploits
Omg this feels written by AI. You said the same thing multiple times...
Agree
I was literally just about to say that. Also he said "r jailbreak" instead of "r/jailbreak" which makes me think it's ai.
I thought I had replayed it in accident but I didn’t it was repetitive

Agreed, it needs to be a bit more concise bc he’s dragged it on for too long
I agree; it almost felt AI-generated.
@@SkinovusCoded all of gregs content sounds AI generated lol but most of them are pretty good
Ran the videos script through a ChatGPT detector and it was flagged by 7/8 of the different services. Sad that this much AI was used to make a lengthy video that could have taken 2-3 minutes to explain

This method is flawed. Google how a professor tried to judge if ChatGPT wrote student papers and he incorrectly accused a student of plagiarism when she didn’t plagiarise anything, provably so.
@@jaygatsby3039 If I remember correctly, that's because the professor just put it into ChatGPT itself instead of a proper AI detector.

Reasons to jailbreak other than piracy:
1. Emulators with JIT support
2. Have access to App data and clear them
3. Full storage cleanup
4. Better icon theming
5. Dark mode websites
6. Bring back iOS 6 lock screen
and more…
Don’t forget legacy app preservation
Remove the ugly white/black line at the bottom
Side loading! No need to shove it down everyone else’s throats.

Maybe if you still use an iPod. I’m not risking it with all my bank accounts and personal info.
This is written by Ai. I checked with turnitin😂😂. No wonder why the guy was repeating the same thing over and over again
holy shit, seriously? god, i used to love this channel, what the hell happened?
Turnitin is BS and can’t detect AI, it’s impossible for any software to. This script is definitely AI written though lol.
was this generated by chatgpt?
@@ARTadillo Yes.
I feel like the script has been re-written a few times. Some phrases occur multiple times and some points are made at the beginning and then resurface at the end without contributing any new information.
It seems AI generated
yeah I thought that and then he said jaikbreaking your iPhone can void your warranty. Such a long video generated
Probably because he AI generated the script and didn't bother to revise it
11:19 is bro just repeating himself?
My first ever jailbreak was on an iPhone 4 running iOS version 7.1.2 and it just blew my mind how jailbreaking really made your device the way you want. Nowadays, I don’t really do jailbreaks anymore, but it’s still great to see that developers wanted to do what Apple didn’t allow them to do.

People think that jailbreaking is about customization, but I believe that piracy is the main reason for it. You can get free in-app purchases and download custom/tweaked IPAs, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As long as ‘pirates’ exist, jailbreaking won’t die.
Hmm I’d guess less pirates Jb nowadays that apps run a free to download + server side subscription model.
I could be wrong tho
@@MataNataM server-sided apps can get hacked too
@@ayanami9504how so?
@@MataNataM You simply need to find the values that are not server-sided. I remember some games that had protected coins/gems but not attributes like ammunition (for shooter games), attack damage (for fighting games), perfect scores (for rhythm music games), or, one of the last ones I tested, had a procedure where you had to download an old version of the app where the currencies were not yet protected, hack them, sync the save with the account, update the app, and log in with the account. This means that there are many ways to hack a game or an app without directly touching the protected values. Another random example is the hack for PicsArt Gold, a server-sided subscription.
Even Genshin Impact or Among Us (to name a few currently popular and well-protected games) have some crazy hacks that have nothing to do with currencies.
Absolutely disgraceful for a UA-cam channel with over 1 million subscribers to add AI generated content or even not proofread content you have the opportunity to do better

Probably I figured out pattern of the channel's author, when he produce 2-3 minutes long videos there is no space for repeats, but if video last more than 3 minutes he just can't hold himself to give a lot of resumes in end (=repeats)
The first iPhone I ever jailbroke was iPhone 4s on IOS 9.3.5. Currently I'm still jailbroken on iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16.3
As soon as we got battery percentage display, I had no reason to jailbreak anymore.

Long since faded away with age.
13:33 when he said pronounced r/jailbreak as "R jailbreak" I was convinced AI was used
This guy’s script could definitely use some work, but how else are you supposed to say it? I suppose it’d be a tad bit more clear to say “the jailbreak subreddit”, but honestly, who cares? Side note: I just realized that it’s been YEARS since I’ve checked in on r/Jailbreak. Those were the days…
Just opened the video to check the date.. a month ago? Jailbreak died years ago.. I don't mean "being able to do it", I mean when jailbreak was the second thing you had to do after you bought an iphone, many years ago.
I jailbroke my phone JUST to screen record, apple adding that feature in iOS 11 literally revolutionized online culture
I miss the golden age of jailbreaking. Even though it made my iPod touch slow, it was nice to customize it.
So basically, Apple introduced new "security" patches that block you from doing what you want with your phone. That's literally all that happened. This video is long for no reason.
I used to jailbreak till iOS6. Then i jailbroke iOS8 iPhone6. I felt like it was not needed anymore by that time and i removed JB.
Bro. Did you use AI for writing the scirpt for this video. Video feels so long but no much information and because of it the video is not enjoyable to watch. Man, jailbreaking an iPhone 15+ years ago was like walking around with super powers. People were so baffled I could use T-mobile and run apps in the background.
The fact that people would go to such lengths shows how anemic iOS is
The video is made by Apple fan, so don't take it seriously. just use iphones with jailbreak
I jailbreaked my ipod 4 back in 2013 and it felt like freedom, good times ❤
You got to bring that old song for the videos.
Watching them with the old music is what motivated me to get a iPhone 😅
I mean, what really else do you want now that they're adding new features, customization, etc. But now, what really else is in very high demand that could ONLY be jailbroken on iPhones now? Still interesting, how this was so dedicated to changing your phone to what it could be. But imagine it on an iPad Pro, the ones just released, it's more powerful than the Macs. What could be done there?
I’m waiting to jailbreak so badly I miss the old days of jailbreaking, one tweak I’m dying to get back is car bridge, the ability to use any app on CarPlay, I wish apple would release it and add its limitations
That repetitive piano music is ridiculous.

how tf this channel have 1.4 million subs?
A walk down nostalgia lane. The only two things i miss from jailbreaking was themes and "RealCC" where you could actually turn off wifi bluetooth etc in control center instead of "disabling" it. Still drives me nuts
You have brought back memories from 15 years ago. Thank you very much. I've gotten to Android Rooting after it but then Google was eager to integrate popular tools users would root their phones for and so it became less important to root phones... It was design back when I was a child on the iPhones, for later Android phones it was being able to actually backup complete phones and nowadays strict adblocking would be the only reason I'd root or jailbreak any phone. Nowadays the reasons I'd jailbreak my phone like in my child days are integrated. Like the automation things from back then are fully integrated now. Things like disabling mobile data when the UA-cam app is open or enabling and disabling wifi based on geofencing. All this were jailbreak things back then.
Jailbreaking and "side loading" should be allowed on phones and tablets. You can do that on Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.
Because iOS nowadays has a lot features and customization. Remember the day when iPhone doesn't have file manager and hard to manage files and downloading, that's jailbreak use for.
The only reason jailbreaking was ever interesting to me was to remove the sim lock back in the day.
I remember jailbreaking my iPhone 4s back in 2012/2013. I then switched to Andriod and was into rooting and romming my phone. I switched back to iPhone when the 13Pro Max came out. All the things I cared to have with a Jailbreak are now native to iOS. I don't care to even look to jailbreaking my 14PM.
Is it just me that I miss the old Apple Explained videos?
I definitely miss the good ol' days of Jailbreak. Definitely gave me a want/need to play around with my phone vs just opening and closing the same few apps every day. I don't miss the resprings and the times tweaks would just break basic features on my phone though.

Oh, I remember the early days of "jailbreak".
What was so sad for Apple users is that many of the most popular jailbreak apps were STOCK on Android phones.
I remember Apple getting into an arms race against the jailbreakers with these OTA hot patches to lock the kernel back down.
I got so fed up with the back and forth that I just switched to Android and got all of the jailbreak app features off the Google Store as stock supported apps.
