As a plat 1 support who is comfortable with LW there are a few tips I have. 1) don’t play lifeweaver with Lucio in bronze. You’re not going to get enough healing for a bronze team. In this situation you’d want an Ana or bap. 2. You need to play further back. Your hit box is massive and your survivability isn’t the best. Playing in rooms is going to get you killed for the most part. 3. Have a platform pre-ready. It doesn’t expire. So if you get pushed you can jump on it and have another ready to go in the event you need it. 4. Instead of reloading your heals constantly switch to your gun and dps for a few seconds. Three seconds and you’ll be fully reloaded. 5. Only pull when necessary. If a hanzo is full health he can backup on his own he doesn’t need your pull. 7. Don’t hold on to tree forever. Besides the initial burst heal it isn’t that great of an ult. If somebody is about to die throw it down and use it for the team fight. It comes back pretty fast. 8. You don’t have to full charge every heal. Sometimes doing smaller burst heals will save your teammate from dying. 9. Know when to change. He’s not the best support and there are many situations he just doesn’t work.

I'm high diamond/low masters, and play LW a lot. Use it to get to high ground too, which also means dont be afraid to drop off high ground if you're getting dove since you easily can get back up. Otherwise when you're getting attacked just throw it directly under your feet, its 90% of the time gonna throw the enemy off enough that you'll live. I use his tree if my team is about to get a surge of damage but not something that is too deadly like an ultimate. So if a deathball or dive is coming in. I also alternatively use it instead of a grip when my tank goes in hard; so like when rein got a big shatter like 1v5 and this weaver pulled him back, instead i would use the tree I have a pretty good winrate on weaver using these tips. Keep in mind that the devs describes him as a mercy alternative, maybe i find him naturally easy cuz i used to be a mercy main.
Before I read the patch notes but after I updated my game, I played with a lifeweaver in every single game. I assumed he had got buffed but no, he just seems to be a popular pick for some very odd reasons
I can't believe people in chat at the end saying "high gold", absolutely not. I am a lw main (amongst others) in low gold and this guy would get EATEN ALIVE in gold. Definitely a bronze player.
in plat you'd know to not play lifeweaver in the first place :'D jkjk but lmao I am a casual high plat/low dia ana/kiriko main and i tried to go lifeweaver in comp after doing well on him in qp... yeah, never again, he slingshotted me down to gold where i haven't been for years. It really is... a weird choice.
That pull on rein after shatter was so painful... When I was just starting playing lw, I accidentally C9ed my team twice on the same map. I didn't do it on purpose of course, but everyone including myself was upset anyways. Since then every time I use pull, I am always afraid I pull wrong target or just pull someone out of their good q. It makes playing lw very stressful, ngl. I can imagine this person didn't actually mean tompull their rein there, it was just bad timing and slow reaction time.
Ngl as a high Gold I've fallen myself at least more than once in that spot, but NEVER in rapid succession in the same effing game on the same effing round
this guy does randomly pull a lot in the 2nd half of the game, but i just wanna remind people that grip heals for 50hp since the start of this season i believe (AND it can be used while charging your main heal but i dont think this guy has realized any of this)
While I see what you are saying, every time they used pull, the person was not in immediate danger of being eliminated. They were usually behind cover or way out of the enemy teams line of sight so the lifeweaver was in fact using it because they were bored.
Its always funny when someone sends an ego vod to a streamer saying they deserve low plat and they do things that not even someone playing the game for the first time would do
Also should have pulled that rein back during the beginning or found two. cause that way while they were focusing lucio, rein could be getting full heals
I love how they let the pharaoh target the heals and tank for free the whole match. At bronze it’s tough for the players to figure out issues and make adjustments. I’d say he’s at least worth silver because he’s attempting to heal at least.
This is why I love lifeweaver… he can just kinda chill 😅 and he got even more buffs! He has overhealth on tree and then 25 blue health (forget what it’s called)
I think one of the biggest problems support dps players make is not going for damage first THEN heals. Everyone knows how to position and the back and healbot, so you get an average rank. You have to seek out more value and realise their are people like you who play the same exact way and is why you share a similar rank. Also, If you dont play enough games your not going to get a accurate rating of your skill so theres that.
i can understand falling off the map once. we all do silly things sometimes and its not the end of the world. but to fall off TWICE, at the SAME PLACE? that's when you prove you are not aware of what's going on around you. this person would not survive higher than silver. staggering yourself begins to impact the team in silver and definitely in gold. they understand the game well enough to have an okay sense of when to ult, but they don't understand enough. "just stay alive" isn't the best advice for a support because the difference between winning and losing can be making sure you die with your team so you can regroup together. you need to know when you need to survive and when you need to force the enemy team to kill you quickly. also, that pull on Reinhardt after they had shattered...... sweet lord that was a very bad play that would be punished in gold. your team doesn't need you to keep them at full hp, no matter what they say or think. they need you to help them win the fight. you wouldn't survive in plat. i think they have potential, but they have a LOT to learn and practice before they're ready for silver and beyond.
As someone who thinks they're a decent lifeweaver (i main mystery heroes) he needs to be doing a lot more attakcing, and being on the ground and instead of popping himself in the air. However he should be throwing the pedal at the middle of the fight for either a distraction of the enemy team, or something a low health team mate could use to get heals better. Then they could jump back into the fight.
iv been solid plat since OW1 and i got my peak of diamond in ow2 i played and lost a ton with my friends and gf now im playing in low silver/bronze games and elo hell is so god damn real in ow2
I stopped playing comp because of the sweatiness that came with grinding it solo and couldn't play with friends. Might give it a another go again since I was on the rise when I gave it up 2 seasons ago. If I was able to get to plat 3 with solo mercy, I'm fairly certain I could get at least diamond with weaver.
My old friend is new to overwatch (Plus, he's not really good in any multiplayer FPS, but he has a lot of fun playing tho) and even he doesn't accidently falls off the map like that. I'm so sick of people saying they should be higher than bronze when they play like this lol. Some people really needs to reflect on how they play. Even I sometimes in low master I get some moments where I'm "Yeah, that was a bad play on me. I should maybe change my approach" to improve
im a masters support and ill give this guy a tip to get out of bronze, dont play lifeweaver, even with his buffs hes still out healed and out utility usefulness by pretty much every other support, if you want to climb i recommend anna, kirko, bap they have very good healing, amazing kits, and op ults thatll help your team alot (edit) with that being said i personally do enjoy lifeweaver. so if you dont care about your rank and just want to play someone you enjoy, chill with friends then ya just play who you want, but if you do truly want to rank up especially getting to at least plat id stay away from lifeweaver, bap is who id recommend the most, he has great damage, great healing, imortality lamp, and matrix, plus he has his jump boots for some survivability, so you can heal, help dps if needed, save team from death and keep self alive alot like lifeweaver, just with better healing damage and kit useability
This dude is probably in the right rank. Maybe silver? Just needs to play more and be consistent BUT I will say as a plat support player who occasionally goes on a friends alt to do comp with him, bronze support is hard. Here’s how a lot of my games look in bronze Tank and dps belt movement abilities to get out way faster than I can rotate. Tank keeps walking and goes in alone. Dps doesn’t get a pick. You keep them up then rotate to high ground. Tank is back. Tank is playing directly underneath you with DPS. You tell them to walk. They won’t. You drop to low to cover, they push forward HARD and go round a corner. They have 3 bits of cover between you and them and zero cover between them and the enemy. They come back for a split second and start bunny hopping all over going “heal me” then when you land one shot on them they sprint straight back in at half HP. Then after 3 minutes of this you just go off on your own, get more picks than anyone else, more damage than the tank, start carrying and the chat is just “heal me heal me we need heals” when they are doing LITERALLY nothing with the healing resource. Infact, LESS than nothing. The more you heal them the more they feed the enemy f*cking ults 🙄 You occasionally get one player who’s good and you just hard enable them and they absolutely take over the entire lobby. We had one Genji who was hitting shots so I just pocketed him. Everyone got between 4 and 10 kills. I think I had 11. Genji had 45 😂 Bronze is a WILD place. They should just let dps and tank regen like support do and just let it be a 5v5 slugfest
Second half of the game they played a lot better. I know the falling off the ledge was a dumb mistake but I’m willing to forgive since he played pretty competently in the second half. Still deserves bronze tho.
I wanna just throw something out. Ive been playing on 1 account since OW1. I was High M/low GM depending on the season (OW1).... In OW2 ive been bouncing from D5 to B4 since season 1. I thought maybe i just wasnt as good as i used to be or OW2 is THAT much different from OW1. But it isnt... its almost the same game with less ability for flanks (bc of no off tank) and one less person. I also feel supports are much more important with only 1 tank (as well as the tank has to be good or its a lose no matter what. at least in lower ranks) I recently created a brand new account, im not quite at competitive stage yet (35 wins out of 50) but the ppl im being matched with are at lowest D1 up to low GM players. Ive got 90-95% win rate on most toons ive played and ive only lost maybe 2 fights.... I'm going to continue with my experiment but it feels like the MMR system is completely broken. Its so hard to climb out of the lower ranks bc of ppl who simply dont know how to play, positioning or counter picks. or probably more important.. ULT USAGE. So many ppl just press Q when anyone else does. cant tell you the amount of times 6+ ults are going off at the same time or a zen using tranq to save themselves from genji or is baiting it so he can ult. I even keep running into one person that tells me that 5-8 on Widow is "still producing plays" when they *might* kill 1 sup at the start of an engagement out of 5 fights. im sitting at gold 2 on my main account and simply cannot climb. even going 5-4 on my rankup only nets me 20% gains on the rank Also, lower ranked ppl dont seem to listen to any advise and just reply "your in the same rank i am nub". Ive been playing since OW1 season 1, i feel like i have a very good grasp on the game. some things are obvious... but no one wants to listen and just assumes im wrong bc im at the same rank.. i dunno, its really frustrating trying to play. I even have a duo buddy who is a GM tank that rarely tells me im doing anything wrong (and he flames ppl like no other, he'd flame me too if i make a bad move or waste an ult... anything to be bashed he'll bash it). bro uses an alt account to play with me.
... ive been playing for a week or so and mostly been grinding lifeweaver... im pretty bad.. but not that diffrent from this player as for tree, i tend to use it when either multiple are critical or were out in the open and need something to hide behind (also it gives me a chance to get some damage in) also ive sometimes pulled fully healed people cause i cant get to the person hiding behind them without going through the enemy team with the platform (im not always good at this) i like to trap people against ceilings so they cant shoot me anymore in small corridors
you will notice a pattern with people who say they deserve a certain rank. They don't just say they deserve the next rank up, in this case Bronze - Silver, they think they are at the next 4 ranks up, Bronze - Plat????? i'm gold, and i think i should be higher, but then you have those matches that are generally sweaty and you think, hmmm, maybe i do belong in this rank, your starting rank is typically silver, which means Bronze is lower than average than when you start. but lmao I am a casual high plat/low dia ana/kiriko main and i tried to go lifeweaver in comp after doing well on him in qp... yeah, never again, he slingshotted me down to gold where i haven't been for years.
This guy plays like me. I know a bronze when I see one 😂
Bronze Player: I DESERVE PLAT
*falls off map twice*
*rarely heals tank*
*rarely uses cover*
Jokes aside, I could see them in low gold with a little bit of help
Most capable Lifeweaver player
I like the thought of this being an "ego" vod.
Her: Babe come over 😘
Lifeweaver: I can't, I'm mid match
Her: I can make you Platinum Support
Lifeweaver: 1:37
1:30 plat support strategy mind right there.
i'm a bronze lifeweaver who would be happy just to get to silver and there's no way this person is getting out of bronze at this rate
3:03 petal platform is projectile weaponry
Why does this feel like every life weaver I get in quick play
Throwweaver
bc you're bronze yourself
Someone presented the idea that Plat in Overwatch is equivalent to bronze in other competitive Shooters...
when lucio ult'd around 7:40 he shouldve be helping clear his backline instead of healing
2 minutes in and I can definitely see how this guy deserves low plat...
1:44 I AM a plat support and I have to admit that I’ve fallen off there
i see it very interesting that he says the he deserves to be lower ranked and not like "i think i should be placed higher" or something like that.
As a support main who uses LW a lot lately, this was painful to watch
i havent seen the video, i just read the title and ohhhh im exited, i love bronze thinking they deserve plat
Big brain moves. No one can kill you due to your massive hit box if you just jump off the map.
I main lifeweaver in comp but this is atrocious compared to my gameplay 😂 “honestly team diff”
pedaling the orisa was actually high IQ
i was tweaking when they just wouldnt kill the bap lamps😭😭😭
as an actual low plat support, this hurt to watch LMAO
This is one of the most frustrating matches I’ve ever seen
I'm relatively new to ow.. I have about 90hrs total ..somehow I skipped bronze all together and got placed in silver..just hit silver 2 today
I'm honestly sure this guy does deserve plat, because I'm plat tank and this is every LW I get on my team.
i can understand falling off the map once. we all do silly things sometimes and its not the end of the world. but to fall off TWICE, at the SAME PLACE? that's when you prove you are not aware of what's going on around you.
this person would not survive higher than silver. staggering yourself begins to impact the team in silver and definitely in gold. they understand the game well enough to have an okay sense of when to ult, but they don't understand enough.
And they think they deserve Plat?? This is a new kind of delusional
Then they could jump back into the fight.
or being hi ground in middle lane
iv been solid plat since OW1 and i got my peak of diamond in ow2 i played and lost a ton with my friends and gf now im playing in low silver/bronze games and elo hell is so god damn real in ow2
This is the kind of supports I have every game. THATS why I'm hardstuck bronze.
the other team has this kind of supports every game too. if you can't get out of bronze, that's on you.
This person needs to stay bronze until they gain the map awareness perk...
1:18 - 1:22 At LEAST low plat gameplay, everyone
I stopped playing comp because of the sweatiness that came with grinding it solo and couldn't play with friends. Might give it a another go again since I was on the rise when I gave it up 2 seasons ago. If I was able to get to plat 3 with solo mercy, I'm fairly certain I could get at least diamond with weaver.
a minute in and i cant believe how many healing shots theyve missed as LIFEWEAVER oo boy this is gonna be good
My old friend is new to overwatch (Plus, he's not really good in any multiplayer FPS, but he has a lot of fun playing tho) and even he doesn't accidently falls off the map like that. I'm so sick of people saying they should be higher than bronze when they play like this lol. Some people really needs to reflect on how they play. Even I sometimes in low master I get some moments where I'm "Yeah, that was a bad play on me. I should maybe change my approach" to improve
The double map death just hurt me 😂
im a masters support and ill give this guy a tip to get out of bronze, dont play lifeweaver, even with his buffs hes still out healed and out utility usefulness by pretty much every other support, if you want to climb i recommend anna, kirko, bap they have very good healing, amazing kits, and op ults thatll help your team alot
(edit) with that being said i personally do enjoy lifeweaver. so if you dont care about your rank and just want to play someone you enjoy, chill with friends then ya just play who you want, but if you do truly want to rank up especially getting to at least plat id stay away from lifeweaver, bap is who id recommend the most, he has great damage, great healing, imortality lamp, and matrix, plus he has his jump boots for some survivability, so you can heal, help dps if needed, save team from death and keep self alive alot like lifeweaver, just with better healing damage and kit useability
This dude is probably in the right rank. Maybe silver? Just needs to play more and be consistent
BUT I will say as a plat support player who occasionally goes on a friends alt to do comp with him, bronze support is hard. Here’s how a lot of my games look in bronze
Tank and dps belt movement abilities to get out way faster than I can rotate.
The more you heal them the more they feed the enemy f*cking ults 🙄
You occasionally get one player who’s good and you just hard enable them and they absolutely take over the entire lobby. We had one Genji who was hitting shots so I just pocketed him. Everyone got between 4 and 10 kills. I think I had 11. Genji had 45 😂
Bronze is a WILD place. They should just let dps and tank regen like support do and just let it be a 5v5 slugfest
They should have Lifeweaver’s healing charge automatically and also make it able to charge while you’re using his DPS
Yeah, slow charging heals while he has the thorns out would be a great change.
This guy is definitely a Life Weaver of all time
As a hardstuck Plat 1, today I faded off Napal map because my jump key didn't register. Sometimes it's a feels bad and others is just skill issue lol
1:44 “I should be at least low plat” absolutely not. That alone proves it. Lol. Absolutely need map awareness
This guy is in Bronze for a reason....
Damn, do I keep dropping out of plat 5 bc I'm not falling off maps enough?
To be fair, there ARE support players in Plat who play like that.
Second half of the game they played a lot better. I know the falling off the ledge was a dumb mistake but I’m willing to forgive since he played pretty competently in the second half. Still deserves bronze tho.
Tha audacity of this man… at least plat…. Jeez dude for the first few minutes I thought you’r trolling 😂
Been playing since ow 1 and never have I fallen there because of nothing 😅
If he falls off the map a 3rd time, he should pull someone else with him
If you're stuck you are on the correct rank
Ngl I have fallen off the map there as a plat, yes it was embarrassing ahahahaha
He could've used petal to lift orisa during her ult but instead used it on himself and got everyone killed 😂
As a low plat support player, I'm offended.
If tank pick Hog after dying than most of the tine it means that no one heals him or they just want to play Hog.
to be fair though, this is how a lot of my gm anas/mercys play so who knows
I wanna just throw something out. Ive been playing on 1 account since OW1.
I was High M/low GM depending on the season (OW1)....
In OW2 ive been bouncing from D5 to B4 since season 1.
I thought maybe i just wasnt as good as i used to be or OW2 is THAT much different from OW1. But it isnt... its almost the same game with less ability for flanks (bc of no off tank) and one less person. I also feel supports are much more important with only 1 tank (as well as the tank has to be good or its a lose no matter what. at least in lower ranks)
I recently created a brand new account, im not quite at competitive stage yet (35 wins out of 50) but the ppl im being matched with are at lowest D1 up to low GM players.
I even keep running into one person that tells me that 5-8 on Widow is "still producing plays" when they *might* kill 1 sup at the start of an engagement out of 5 fights. im sitting at gold 2 on my main account and simply cannot climb. even going 5-4 on my rankup only nets me 20% gains on the rank
Also, lower ranked ppl dont seem to listen to any advise and just reply "your in the same rank i am nub". Ive been playing since OW1 season 1, i feel like i have a very good grasp on the game. some things are obvious... but no one wants to listen and just assumes im wrong bc im at the same rank.. i dunno, its really frustrating trying to play. I even have a duo buddy who is a GM tank that rarely tells me im doing anything wrong (and he flames ppl like no other, he'd flame me too if i make a bad move or waste an ult... anything to be bashed he'll bash it). bro uses an alt account to play with me.
... ive been playing for a week or so and mostly been grinding lifeweaver... im pretty bad.. but not that diffrent from this player
as for tree, i tend to use it when either multiple are critical or were out in the open and need something to hide behind (also it gives me a chance to get some damage in)
also ive sometimes pulled fully healed people cause i cant get to the person hiding behind them without going through the enemy team
with the platform (im not always good at this) i like to trap people against ceilings so they cant shoot me anymore in small corridors
Is lifeweaver gonna get another buff?
bro for real thought he could be low plat XD
you will notice a pattern with people who say they deserve a certain rank.
If your in bronze, you 100% deserve that rank.
some moments this felt like they were tryna play ow as if it was valorant?? Xd
When I play Lifeweaver against Rein and he has his shield up I use my primary to break his sheild
I’ve been bronze for so long because I refuse to play comp. I’ve been playing ow for years and even I know that I absolutely belong in bronze. I don’t play enough to get higher and I’m okay with that
