A sad way to start my birthday! I have seen all their movies except Ice Age 3-5 and Horton Hears A Who. My favorites were Peanuts Movie and Spies in Disguise. I’m sad but not totally surprised. Because I knew it would be complicated for Disney to have three major animated film studios. And it would be hard to move work from Connecticut to Burbank. I wish the animators success in the years ahead. But I hope Disney will keep their legacy alive.
I thaught Blue Sky was studio on his own who let there movies released by Fox like Dreamworks Animation (released by Paramount, Universal, Fox and return to Universal when Fox bought Disney. ) who are released by Warner Universal contruction (Both side's of Universal movies ''Animation and there live action movies'' wil now released with help of Warner. Trolls 2 is released by Universal and Warner in Netherlands and Belgium. This also count for Bond movies for now). I was expection that Blue Sky going to search for another studio or wil also choose for Disney. Paramount movies no longer wil be released by Universal but Dutch studio (possible because of that Universal quite), if not then mabey Warner can have been option.Paramount mabey stil can have chooses to make a deal with Blue Sky, but already give up Dreamworks. Fox does not exist any more and Sony have there own (whyle i wil possible choose them to work with Blue Sky). MGM is not powerfull enough and on this moment be with Universal for No Time To Die, Universal who just dropt dreamworks too and MGM already searching for new partner again for after No Time To Die. We will see or this indeed wil be Warner.
It’s not really surprising, other than the first Ice Age movie they haven’t made anything that good, and much like Illumination does with Despicable Me it’s like they’re aware of that fact so on top of using that 1 franchise as the face of their entire studio whenever 1 of their movies fails they just dig that franchise back up and try to resurrect it, honestly I’m surprised we didn’t get an Ice Age 6 in these past couple of years, so when you look at how poorly their movies over these past few years have been performing it was only a matter of time before they went under
Yeah, I mean they could have auction it off to other companies like either Universal, Sony, Netflix, even Paramount, the latter that could have served well for Blue Sky. But nope, let's just simply close it
@@computron5824 Not necessarily, I'm fine with the amount of content that is coming out. But if let's say 15% of Blue Sky's talent is coming to the Disney conglomerate, one could expect there to be a boost in quantity and/or intangible increases in content. Nonetheless, the most important process will be supporting original ideas
@@Noquarious So in other words, you're not expecting more content because you just said it's not a tangible increase. 15% of the laid-off Blue Sky workers would mean moving about 68 employees and their families 3,000 miles across the United States. Based on what Disney pays people in feature animation, I have a hard time believing that will happen but time will tell.
@@computron5824 I'm not talking in terms of what I want because personally I'm fine with what is anticipated already from Disney. What I said was that I only expect there to be two outcomes: 1) More content, 2) Intangible increases, such as storytelling and original ideas. Obviously, I would like them to inherit all of Blue Sky's employees, but a realistic hypothetical is that they will not keep all of them. However, if they're merging with Fox animation, perfect. It could mean more shows (or movies) are coming and majority of the talent remains employed. 🤷🏽♂️
Big shame, Blue Sky Studios May not have been the biggest name in animation or the most profitable, but Ice Age sequels aside they made some damn good films like the Peanuts Movie and Rio
Why can't they bring back New World Pictures instead of Searchlight Pictures cause the opening jingle between 20th Century Studios & Searchlight Pictures doesn't make any sense. I mean New World was bought by Fox and pass their 50th anniversary from last year. MGM just bought back AIP, Orion & United Artists which surprised me.
This is terrible news, I love Blue Sky, they were never really big but they made great movies. I feel so bad for the employees that have lost their jobs.
So now only got 2 studios who do 3d cartoon movies instead of 3. so might have less movies of 3d toons being made instead of 3 studios knocking out ideas for fresh ideas. can always rewatch past movies but unless u a kid how often can u really rewatch an old movie cartoon or not unless u try see it every few years if u by chance have to watch anytime so not gotta stream or rent any . so time will tell how well this all gonna work out and yeah some gonna loose jobs cause not able have so many doing same job so be less around to hire to do a job later.

I would be surprised if Warner would buy it
Studio fell off lately but never forget that first ice age movie 👍
It’s not really surprising, other than the first Ice Age movie they haven’t made anything that good, and much like Illumination does with Despicable Me it’s like they’re aware of that fact so on top of using that 1 franchise as the face of their entire studio whenever 1 of their movies fails they just dig that franchise back up and try to resurrect it, honestly I’m surprised we didn’t get an Ice Age 6 in these past couple of years, so when you look at how poorly their movies over these past few years have been performing it was only a matter of time before they went under
I feel they made a mistake
Yeah, I mean they could have auction it off to other companies like either Universal, Sony, Netflix, even Paramount, the latter that could have served well for Blue Sky. But nope, let's just simply close it
@@Merdicano I would have chose Netflix
Blue sky could have merge with Disney animation or Pixar
Don’t we all wish
I can only expect more movies or better stories now
You're expecting more movies with LESS production capacity?
They could have just sold them
Big shame, Blue Sky Studios May not have been the biggest name in animation or the most profitable, but Ice Age sequels aside they made some damn good films like the Peanuts Movie and Rio
I watched Rio for the first time a year and a half ago. Made me realize what I have been missing out on during my junior year of HS.
But i thought MGM is closing
Even though they focused too much on Ice Age, they were a pretty underrated animation studio.
I was done with Ice Age after 2
Wow blue sky was awesome I love robot film, Ferdinand, spy and ice age
Blue sky studio will com back live ?
I wanted them to continue the Ice Age movies for at least one more.
They will continue with movies & Disney+ shows, they'll just be made by Disney & 20th Century.
Pretty sad, they didn’t make my favourite Animated films. The first Ice Age will always be special (forget the sequels). But yeah sad news.
Weren’t they working on bone and mutts? I think they were unique enough and it’s kind of a shame.
This is terrible news, I love Blue Sky, they were never really big but they made great movies. I feel so bad for the employees that have lost their jobs.
I loved Peanuts and Spies in Disguise the most
So now only got 2 studios who do 3d cartoon movies instead of 3. so might have less movies of 3d toons being made instead of 3 studios knocking out ideas for fresh ideas. can always rewatch past movies but unless u a kid how often can u really rewatch an old movie cartoon or not unless u try see it every few years if u by chance have to watch anytime so not gotta stream or rent any . so time will tell how well this all gonna work out and yeah some gonna loose jobs cause not able have so many doing same job so be less around to hire to do a job later.
Makes you wonder why Disney didn't just shut it down when they bought 21st Century Fox. When Spies in Disguise lost money imo the die was cast I am afraid. to say
I wanted a sequel to spies in disguise. Now that will never happen
They wanted to keep it but the losses caused by the pandemic caused its downfall.
