James Corden Reveals Why He's Leaving "The Late Late Show" | The Drew Barrymore Show | #shorts

James corden's publicist is a miracle worker! What an amazing way to leave the show and deflect all of the negative press that probably would have pushed him off the show in the first place. Kudos!
I was thinking the same damn thing.
Same. He comes off, looking like a hero.
Eeeeexactly.
Or maybe he's just a regular human like the rest of us with complexities in his life.
@@AmmaLove24 Both can be true. A publicist's job is to blur the lines. Corden's understood the assignment.
He's blessed to be able to make that decision. Millions can't, or they wouldn't make rent or play the bills.
You should have worked harder then to be in a position like his. Then you could have.
@@TrentArmy66 of course you're right. Any tips for me now? Like what's your secret to making millions?
We all choose different paths, as children we have no choice as adults it’s all on us!
@@acer4237 lovely thought but not realistic
Yep I'd be homeless if I did that but my kids will know I worked my butt off for them
So many people don’t realize that once you have children it’s not about you anymore.
Tell my X, his family and my mother that lol
And they're grown in a blink of an eye
So many?
He could careless about his children and wife.

Both my husband and I retired as soon as we could, sold our house and moved to where my daughters and grandchildren live to be apart of their lives. Life is too short not to have family be a part of it!
Way to go Nana. 🤸🏿🤸🏿🤸🏿 you rock! Family first!

I'm so proud of you for making that child first. I wish it was easier for a lot more people. Thanks for the time you' spent with the world pure pleasure watching
Wonderful that he puts his family first. Good choice 👌 👍
.
I made the decision to retire after 35 yrs from the Govt after my daughter was in 10th grade. She said she was tired of always seeing me stressed out & always on the computer evenings& sometimes weekends. I retired Jan of 2020. World shutdown & my daughter and I were together 24-7. We had the best time together. We'd go walking, practice her driving etc
Thanks for sharing love ur short story ur the best God bless you and ur family.
The best thing to come out of covid was the family time we were given!! (Most, obviously not all!!). Going back to work after that was one of the hardest things I think I've ever done!! I've never cried so much in my car lol
If only I could go back and change that with my son and daughter. I was single working 2 to 3 jobs to keep up. 😢
Good for you, you can afford to retire.
That's awesome I had my dad full time he was retired from navy when I was 5 and Did antiques from our home. So glad we had all this time , because we lost him at 59yrs young.
On your deathbed you will never ask if you should have made more money or spent more time at work. But you will ask why didn't I spend more time with my loved ones good for you and your daughter God bless you
Don't care for this guy that much but I applaud him prioritizing his Child over Working Too much
Bro... This is the equivalent of him "almost" being cast in Lord of the Rings. I'm sure there was some behind the scene stuff going on that he's not disclosing. No one likes him.
@@croop0903I like him 😀
@@croop0903His show has been VERY successful for many years and the network wanted to keep him on after however many seasons. Clearly, someone (people) like him!
Lmao this is so funny she hearted this comment
I like James Corden a lot. I think he's authentic and applaud his decision.
I married a woman 26 years my senior, a granddaughter came to live with us. I realized, I needed to step up and make sure there was insurance and a secure environment for the both of them. I did it and I do not regret working a mediocre job to accomplish my goal.
Your awesome! God bless you and all you do and have done!
Well Done!
I completely identify with this.
I just left my job of 20 years. I've been sacrificing myself and my health and till I wound up in hospital.
My job can replace me, my family cannot.
Amen , take care of #1 first!!!
🙋🏻♀️widow with 4 kids, here. you’re absolutely right. it’s the grueling hours my husband devoted to his career that killed him. i don’t even mean that in an indirect, i’m looking for someone to blame sort of way, it’s literally the hours he devoted to the job, rather than his physical signs of disease & the mental health struggles he neglected.
when i look for new friends, or consider who i date, work/home life balance is top on the list. i cannot bring myself to match up with someone who doesn’t set healthy boundaries with their employers, or know when to search for a new job.
Actually your family can replace you with someone with a job
@@Nobody-bq7pl Thanks! I took 10 weeks off to spend with my family and pay attention to my mental and physical health. I'm doing better and now OFFERED, not applied for, a career in my field and doing better than before.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss.
As a recovering workaholic, I understand now more than ever the importance of work/life balance and boundaries. I'm still working through the trauma that drives my compulsion, but the support of my husband, teenage son and close friends really helped me see the damage that stress had been doing (hypertension, severe depression, etc).
Thank you for your words of encouragement and I wish you and your kids serenity and love in your days ahead.
Excellent choice. Ones children is Everything!
Making them a priority is a True sign of an Exceptional Parent.
Maybe it's cause I'm from a third world country, but for us growing up, and seeing our parents struggle make ends meet ,there was no choice. My father used to travel a lot, but I knew that it was necessary. And now I'm grateful that he did all that ,so I would have a better life, which I do. So as much as it sucks you do what you have to, to provide for your kids. But it's beautiful that James felt it right to do this
I have worked from the age of 17 and now I'm 64 and still working..... I have raised two beautiful responsible well educated children and they know I worked long hours to put them through good schools, and live comfortably even though on the frugal side, no take aways it brand names......but we had such a great time when we were together. 💖
And I'm also from a 3rd World Country........it used to be a very rich 1st before 1994 called Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa ....
Family should always come first. Especially if you have children.
Took this man 10 years to figure that? Lol B for BORING 😴😴😴😴
Hold on you have to work to feed your family so if your kid sulks because you have to work just retire?? Not all of us have that luxury
Regardless of what else is said of this man as an individual, I wish more fathers were able to have this realisation. Before it’s too late to do anything about it.
They do realize it, but they also have to put food on the table. I'm so sick of people bashing men for doing their job and providing. As soon as he doesn't provide, he's a loser. Men can't win anymore.
At least lower retirement age for tradesmen so they can spend time with grandchildren while still healthy , although probably arthritic.
My bf wishes for nothing more!! But sadly we BOTH need to work full time jobs. To ya know...keep a roof over our heads, food in bellies and vehicles...if only it were so easy for us "normal" families.
Father's have it rough...if they don't work nonstop to support their family, they're talked down upon...then if they work and work to provide for their families, they're talked down upon 🤦🏼♀️
This is a sweet story. I look at my teenagers and I’m so happy they still want to spend time together
Lol highly doubt this is the reason. His ratings were second to last on the network and the bad press was going to force him out anyway.
@@lennybrewster4673he was dropped from the show. Poor ratings.
@@lennybrewster4673for sure. Confirmed narcissist.
I remember when my daughter said, daddy please don’t go to work stay with me, it was hard, but I did quit my job and now we spend everyday together walking up and down the highway asking for spare change. I will always cherish these wonderful years together. Or you can be rich already and have the luxury of quitting your job which you were probably gonna get let go from anyways.
Dude yes u should spend time with you daughter. But theres a fine line between spending time with your children and being an adult and providing income as a father so she doesn't need to ask for spare change. Put a roof over her head and a hot meal comes first and then it's about spending time together. Hugs and kisses don't pay the bills bro be realistic.

Tremendous respect for parents who put their children first.
That’s the bare minimum?
Look up stories of when people saw him just out and about, he couldn’t care less, they’re trying to make him look good when his show is ending and like he did it for family and not because people started to dislike him
Couldn't agree more!!
If that is even the truth.
Isn't working putting your children first though too?? If it were just me I wouldn't work 50hr work weeks....that's for sure lol
You can only do this if you working is optional since yknow... Millionaire and even then your son will appreciate it later in life your hard work.
Problem is, millionaire mindset is "maximise the cash, I'm doing it for the kids". Kids become adults and remember the cash thrown at them, not the time given by parents..
It took him 10 years to figure it out that he could afford to spend time with his kid?
Thank you
@@nancystjames1862 No, It took him 10 years to be able to afford to.

Yea ok. If he wanted to put his family first he wouldn’t be in Hollywood singing in the stupid car. Was he thinking of his son then? Hmm don’t think so cuz his head exploded with fame. Now how is that putting his family first? It’s called deflecting the truth what a vile man celebrities made him.
He got exposed, that why he is leaving for his horrible treatment of restaurant staff. He was actually banned from the establishment he was that awful. The manager exposed him on twitter. Everyone turned on him.

Facts
You can make a change…. Honest…you can!
I had to go to work whenever my husband got home in 2021. My daughter would cry for me to put her to bed. Now after a year of it she prefers her dad. It broke my heart once I realized that. But we were in bad debt due to covid issues and not being able to work, so for a little while it was necessary. But this last year I wasn't doing it anymore, decided not to do evening work anymore. It was so relieving to know i was doing the right thing. Een though she is still use to her daddy, she will ask for me sometimes still, and I'm there for it. One day she won't want her parents to put her to bed. It's a good decision James. Your child doesn't want money, he wants you.
It’s good she was bonding with father too! She’s very blessed. Stay safe!
She'll always need her mum, believe you me. My mum worked long hours my whole life, I always wanted her to be a stay at home mum. But she couldn't afford it. She is my hero I don't know anybody who worked so hard all their life. Your daughter will think of you the same way. I'm 32 and still call my mum everytime I have a dilemma or a problem. If I'm shopping, I'll always send her a photo and ask for her opinion. She's a lucky girl to have both parents who love her so much and take care of her.
My children do however need a roof over their heads, and food in their bellies. Nowadays both parents have to work, pretty much, to afford a "comfortable" life.
As much as I admire the "idea of sacrificing his time for his child" I Believe that there is More to this Story...Much more.
That’s what I’m saying! I’ve heard he’s a terrible person and its all coming to a head.
All those things that he has done to other people / cast
Of course, what he did was disgusting. He isn’t better than everyone else to be so blatantly rude to wait staff and especially at Balthazar . Yes, he apologized but he did it more than once
Glad hes doing what he needs to do for his family, every good dad would kill to have more time with their kids
I think he’s leaving cuz people finally saw who he really is.
Could be
I don't care.
He's a piece of garbage.
Exactly.
I only know him from small parts of shows on UA-cam. Is he not friendly?
Yes. Time is all we have in the end. Memories to make, I hope he goes and lives his best life with his family 🙂
It's wonderful to be able to spend more quality time with family without concerns of money.
Well said. Can’t even imagine.
I can't wait for the day I can be a SAHP again. I want to be around my little one 24/7. She just turned 5 and co-parenting is tough. It breaks my heart.
When you say coparenting is tough and breaks your heart, do you mean because it feels like time with the other parent is lost to you? I have a lot of guilt around that. I dig deep to tell myself she needs to know her father, for better or worse, so she can make her own judgments but it kills me to be apart from her. She’s young and not in school yet and I think once school starts taking our time as well it’s only a few hours a day we see other. I feel like this isn’t something a lot of people talk about.
The world is grateful for his son.

I feel this! I spent all of my marriage working 80 hour weeks and being on call a lot missing time with my son, after we divorced I realised she left me over 20K in debt taking various credit out in my name so I’ve spent the decade after our split being on call a lot and doing endless hours to pay off debts and pay my bills etc as well as paying her child maintenance money too and I’m devastated that my son is now 17 and I’ve missed so much of his life!

It’s awesome. Sadly many cannot afford to leave work. It’s so important though. Ive been through it myself. And it’s heartbreaking as time never stops. And you never ever get it back. ❤
I have one more summer with my daughter. She is 17 love her to bits, yesterday was senior expo at school. I was in attendance and am super proud of her. She was so excited that I came. I never miss the opportunity to show up at school for her. That makes a big difference.
I love my brother's relationship with his son who is 15. The other day when asked, who would pick them up from the mall. He was like, the dependable one, my dad. Always going to be here! So cute!
I'm on the fence with James a bit, have read a or seen a few things that made me question him as a person, however, I will always give credit when due and fact that he's chosen to put his child or children before his celebrity status as a talk show host and all that comes with his career, realizing some things, especially as parents, we'll never get back and if we waste our time with our children or take it for granted, we'll regret it for the rest of our lives and wish we could go back to those days with our children. ❤️
So nice for him to have the luxury to pick and choose the hours he works. It's a shame we can't all do that.
He didn't have a chose to do what he wants. That's exactly what he is saying in the interview he had to work on Sunday. Because he wanted to be with his kid. So how do you get he could pick his own out obviously he couldn't
@@mariucheA I think they mean that he can financially afford to do this

Isn't working and providing for your family putting them first!?
Dad's just can't win! If they don't work they get ridiculed, if they work '"too much" they get talked down upon for "not being around".. can't have it both ways.
Recently I saw clips where Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and even Lucille Ball said they wished they had been better mother's and had done the same for their children. It's hard when it comes to Hollywood because your opportunity today may not be there tomorrow. Kudos to him for taking the chance and realizing he can't get back the today for his child.
weird.... sure its nothing to do with his toxic behaviour???
i dont believe its got anything to do with his family...
And you don’t get back the ones you have already missed. Be thankful that you have the opportunity to choose that. Be proud that you have earned it for yourself. Most people in the world just have to keep on trucking.
My dad wasn't really present during my childhood, which I can't hold against him for bcs he's the sole bread winner in the family. He retired when I was about to finish highschool, and we've been physically around each other ever since, except for a couple of years when I studied in another city. The more I see it in hindsight the more I realize that we never really could bond emotionally; it was too late for him to understand me properly as a person and I was already too pessimistic of him to feel safe enough to let my guards down around him emotionally. We're in a rather strange state where we can actually see the way each other think but don't openly show it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, providing a proper life for your family is, of course, a good thing, but it's much more than just wealth, financial security, etc. Connecting with them emotionally is just as important.
It must be nice to be able to afford to just stop working.
Amen to that. I would do anything to be able to stay home with my kids. Hell. Even if my wife could stay with them.
When you have a talent you can be flexible
Then you all should have worked harder then instead of complaining.

Sounds similar to the “I want to spend more time with my family” that politicians use.
Speaking of kids: Approximately 30 minutes into a London-bound flight from New York City, a woman with a screaming baby was ushered into business class and seated next to Corden, who didn’t say a word. Instead, he purportedly just put on his headphones to drown out the sound of the child’s screams and went to sleep. While Corden’s fellow passengers were surprised and impressed that the celebrity didn’t complain about the close quarters or wailing child, they were even more surprised when, while deplaning in London, the clearly frazzled mom was struggling for minutes to free her bags from the overhead luggage compartment, finally just handed the kid to Corden and yelled, “For f**k’s sake, can you at least hold the baby while I get the bags down?”
It was HIS kid!
But now he suddenly cares?
Not surprised. I've read multiple accounts where he treats his own family like dirt.

Our kids don’t care about the money, the fame, the perks. They care about our presence and emotional involvement. I experienced this when my son was 7 and I have not yet once regretted a job I turned down or relationships I lost because I put him first. He’s about to turn 20 in May. We have the best relationship and some of his friends tell him they wish they had what he had. He has been with me for his freshman and sophomore years of college and has just applied to transfer to a college that offers his specific major. He’ll only be 3 hours away but I am confident it won’t put a dent in our relationship at all.
Kudos to you James! Kudos to you for choosing your son over your success! IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT!!

I remember telling my dad the same thing when I was small… he told me “I can do that, but then we’ll all have to live in our car, eat trash from rubbish cans, and you & your brother will have to wear the same clothes to school for years until you can work and buy yourself clothes.”… I absorbed that for a couple of seconds then said “Have a good day at work daddy.”.

Must be nice to even have the damn option of being able to quit a job and not worry about it. Smh
I quit my job making over 6 figures and took about a 30-40% paycut to spend it with my kids. There was about a yr that I have no memories of my kids bc I was working non stop..the money wasn't worth missing a whole summer of my son being 3 and my daughter being 6. And I'd make the same decision 100/100 times over.
I applaud him for putting his children first. The years just fly by. It seems like yesterday I was 11 in catholic school having the best years and I'm 53 today realizing my life really sucks. Make your time count. Please. Don't let many years go by without doing things you love.

@@kylethedalek he's brought a lot of joy and laughs to so many. I don't know about other things..it's not my place to be his judge
He’s awful! We were so glad to get rid of him here in England and now we have to have him back
For real? The guy is a POS.
So Amazing, he's abusive and he has never made me laugh once.
I can read people like a book ( or that I have anything positively to say about myself). This is so genuine and true to then heart. Wow, for me, this is a prime example where perception does not meet reality.
Love from us all, all around the world James 💖 x
Parental News Flash! Max misses you because you’re not around!
Once you’re hanging about the house for a time, he will find you so annoying!
He's not leaving because of his son. He's leaving because he's a diva and has a very bad reputation.
I don't believe he is doing this for his son.
The best decision you could ever make, no matter what other reason (s) there may be.
Family is everything. Love ya James ❤
Wise choice, James. Family always first. Definitely going to miss you and the laughter you bring. Your one of a kind. Thank you so much for all you've given. Good luck on your new journey. Blessings, hugs
I love that he realizes that on time you can always come back we love you and will be waiting 😊
Nobody will be waiting, hoping he comes back.
The show has a chance to get someone who is actually funny.
