But we were in bad debt due to covid issues and not being able to work, so for a little while it was necessary. But this last year I wasn't doing it anymore, decided not to do evening work anymore. It was so relieving to know i was doing the right thing. Een though she is still use to her daddy, she will ask for me sometimes still, and I'm there for it. My dad wasn't really present during my childhood, which I can't hold against him for bcs he's the sole bread winner in the family. He retired when I was about to finish highschool, and we've been physically around each other ever since, except for a couple of years when I studied in another city. The more I see it in hindsight the more I realize that we never really could bond emotionally; it was too late for him to understand me properly as a person and I was already too pessimistic of him to feel safe enough to let my guards down around him emotionally. We're in a rather strange state where we can actually see the way each other think but don't openly show it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, providing a proper life for your family is, of course, a good thing, but it's much more than just wealth, financial security, etc. Connecting with them emotionally is just as important.

Speaking of kids: Approximately 30 minutes into a London-bound flight from New York City, a woman with a screaming baby was ushered into business class and seated next to Corden, who didn’t say a word. Instead, he purportedly just put on his headphones to drown out the sound of the child’s screams and went to sleep. While Corden’s fellow passengers were surprised and impressed that the celebrity didn’t complain about the close quarters or wailing child, they were even more surprised when, while deplaning in London, the clearly frazzled mom was struggling for minutes to free her bags from the overhead luggage compartment, finally just handed the kid to Corden and yelled, “For f**k’s sake, can you at least hold the baby while I get the bags down?”

We have the best relationship and some of his friends tell him they wish they had what he had.
