    Great video, your footage and commentary was excellent. Glad your son is ok. Regarding the discrepancy between the OS map and waymarked signs, I think they recently re-routed the trail to avoid crossing a road, so you were right to follow the signs rather than the map.

      Thanks for watching Chris and for the kind word's it's really appreciated.im glad I did follow the ground marker and I do believe that the ground markers are more up to date than maps and even though I only brought the map for that area last year it was on a deal in WHS so more than likely it's an older map😁👍

    I think it's really good the Dartmoor Explorer out and about Carl. And what a fabulous way to hike. It looks beautiful. Mind you watch out for them cow pats as you enjoy the woods. Ha ha! Hey you could always sit on your pack - I do. They make for a good seat (the sleeping bag end). The stillness was wonderful Carl - doesn't it make us feel good mate? Aaah it just goes in! I was sorry though to hear of your son Carl. I would do the same - ensure his well being. I hope he fared OK. There were some good highlights on this one though. I'll watch part 2 later. I haven't been getting notifications - have to check them manually so didn't get this but well done - really pleasant video. Until next time all the best. Mark

      Thanks mate yes it does make a change going somewhere different and I will be doing a lot more of it as well. And I would much rather stepnin cow poo than dog poo in fact on my next video you don't see it but I step in dog poo and end up trying to find cow poo to step in to clean my shoes. My sin was better than we thought he would off been but better to 've safe than sorry. And that's strange about not getting notifications unless you need to press the bell icon again.😁👍

      @@Intotheoutdoors69 A pleasure. Yeah you're not confined to the Dartmoor. We used to play cowpat fights when we were young. There alright to step in but the dogs - maaan why so smelly? Good that your son was well. As for my notifications they're not coming through to my inbox. I can still search subscriptions via my channel but that;s manual and some day I miss uploads.

    Great to see you tackling a long-distance path, Carl. I enjoyed every moment and I'm always impressed by how well you capture things with your phone.
    Sorry to hear about your son (I also saw your Instagram post) and I'm pleased to read he's doing better.
    Interesting to notice that discrepancy between the path on the map and following on the ground. I guess you could always try the other path when you revisit. Regarding pack weight: I think we need to start off with something (even if it's too heavy) before we can have a true idea of what's right for us. It's all part of learning. All the best!

    • @Intotheoutdoors69

      Hi Olly thanks for watching and it's the first one I've done since starting you tube and will start to do a lot more. Thanks for the kind words about my filming it's really appreciated. Thank you, Carl. I'm really grateful for the offer, although I don't think I'll be able to do it on this occasion. I would like to meet one day... Maybe for a wild camp in the spring? I'm a bit too soft to attempt camping at this time of year... ;-D

    • @Intotheoutdoors69
      @Intotheoutdoors69  6 років тому +1

      That's fine mate it's not everyone's cuppa tea to go camping this time of the year but we will definitely do something in the spring. Whether it's Dartmoor, long distance or I do fancy doing the quantock hills sometime and I know that's your part of the world. Don't know if your allowed to camp there or not😁👍

    • @WalksWithOlly
      @WalksWithOlly 6 років тому +1

      Definitely not allowed to camp on the Quantocks (although I've thought about it) but it's a place I'd strongly recommend. ;-) I may be down near Okehampton in late November with a walking group but it all depends on finances right now.

    • @Intotheoutdoors69
      @Intotheoutdoors69  6 років тому +1

      Yes it looked stunning and if I did camp there or would be on film that I respected the place and not trashed it. And hope you make it down in November I'm lucky that I get free travel on the busses so if we did meet up tour way in the spring or won't cost me travel money😁👍

    Woodbury Common, well known to all RMC's, it's where we cut our teeth to become a Green Beret. It sounds like your son may have CROOP, our son had it, has trouble breathing and iff they panic it gets harder to breathe, a Nebuliser is useful but we would take him to the bathroom and put hot taps on for the steam, steam helps ease the symptoms and their breathing, hope he's alright 👍

    • @Intotheoutdoors69

      Thanks for watching mate so you know woodbury common well then it's lovely up there and when I go back I will be going to the view poi t bit didn't have time on this occasion. Yes steam does help but it's not croop and he's good now thanks 😁👍
