When I take my slide on the banjo, it sounds like a resonator, because in Fact, it is a resonator and you’re already in a open chord tuning combine that with what you’re teaching here and you amaze yourself how good it sounds
Thanks for the good words Mike! Email us for a FREE Zoom lesson with the banjo teacher, his name is Braeden and you can reach him here: contact@jamalong.org... hope to hear from ya!

Hi again, I have had a look at your blues backing tracks but the video here ( above) is the only style of blues I like, not melodic, bluegrass ( other blues videos like the above). Which tab & backing track do I order to be able to learn the above lesson please?
@@JamAlong Thank you so much Braden, it’s 12.56am here in Perth , WA…I will be in touch with the info & can’t wait for my first blues banjo lesson 😎👍🪕🎼
I'm playing a lot of old string band and jug band some but now the band is branching out into Metallica, Twisted sister, Stones, etc. I'm so used to playing in normal (for me) keys of G,D, c, etc and now finding it harder to transition to stuff in E or minor keys. I like switching it up by going up and down the neck while playing back up but struggling with minors and 7ths in changeable position. I'll get there. Might even buy your course!
Hi! Awesome lesson, I once bought a blues book for guitar but couldn't figure out what to do with these scales exactly. Took me learning the banjo to find this lesson and figure it out :) one question though. You say there are multiple of these scales and you seem to switch between them while playing. How does that work? Are there any "rules" there?
Hello N VE! Basically there are three "Blues Scales": the Pentatonic Minor, the "Modern" Blues Scale (Pentatonic Minor with added b5 and #7), and the Mixolydian Mode, To learn all of these, get a FREE Zoom lesson with our banjo instructor by clicking the link below, see ya soon! jamalong.org/product/introductory-live-online-music-lesson

Do banjos get the blues? The instrument always sounds so happy...😂
Hey there Bryan, thanks for stopping in! And yes, banjos do indeed get the blues, and it is fun as well :-)
Do you have an email....Want to talk about some music we need for a doco
Hello BullionGrower NZ
! Yes, email us at contact@jamalong.org
Saxophone has more sustain then a guitar
Hello Spookytooth92
, yes you are correct, and the banjo has even less! But we can still rock the blues :-)
