Hi, yes you should be able to buy more than one on the same account since each have their own activation codes, but it might depend on carrier so I suggest contacting the carrier to be sure.
Thanks for this video. We have android, is turning off Data Roaming the equivalent of turning off Data Switching? Would it be better to just disable the home sim and leave the e-sim on for the duration of visit? Thank you.
Hi, great question. They are not the same. Data roaming allows you to connect to networks outsite of your coverage area. So you want your eSIM that you purchase for traveling abroad to have this turned on. However, if you also wanted to have your home carrier work abroad you will again want this on because your home carrier will need to use the network abroad in order to work. Data switching on the other hand is just the ability for you to switch between profiles. So if you have your mobile eSIM/SIM enabled and your international eSIM on at the same time, if you have data switching turned on then if your international eSIM cannot get a good connection it might switch to your home carrier. So if you don't ever want to use your home carrier for data but still want to use your home carrier to receive phone calls then definitely turn off data switching. You can also turn off roaming for your home carrier and that will effectively stop it from connecting to any network abroad and therefore it wont use any data and you won't be able to use it to make/receive calls nor SMS. In your case, you can certainly just disable your home SIM if your phone allows it.
@@KenshoQuest Hello, Thank you. We want to just be able to use mobile data from the eSim that we got for traveling. Seems for Android users, we need to enable Data Roaming and Mobile Data on the eSim for traveling and disable the home sim to avoid those costly charges. Thanks
Hi, if you install it or begin the process of activation then you are activating the eSIM and your days of usage will start. You will receive an email detailing the activation time once you purchase.
This is a good question which I don't have a definite answer for. As long as your phone is able to recognize the QR code then it will work. Otherwise, you are going to need another device to display the code to scan into your phone where you will be activating the eSIM. You can opt to manually install by the activation code.
Thanks for the video, do I need to remove my original physical sim after installing esim? As I’m afraid will be charged from my original local carriers the international charge.
HI, while you can remove your SIM, you don't need to remove your physical SIM. Instead, you can disable it from your under your cellular data preferences.
I have a question, im buying the iphone 16 pro max in best buy usa if i pay full price would they give me the qr code and the activation code for manually? And can i contact the carrier even if im outside the usa?
Hi, good questions! Yes, your phone will automatically be unlocked so you will get the QR code and or choose to activate manually. Yes, you can contact the carrier outside of the US. Just keep in mind they are located in Japan so will respond during Japan operating hours. Also, please wait to start your activation process until you arrive in Japan.
How do I transfer from my iPhone 13 to my iPhone XS when my barcode is missing and it says your iPhone is not compatible with transferring it through the phone, please reply.
Hi, if you didn't receive the QR code please contact the companies support. You might also want to check your account online through the companies website. It should be in there.
In what instance(s) does the "Primary" option needs to be turned OFF? Does "Primary" need to be ON while using Ubigi eSIM exclusively for internet access and other communication apps (such as WhatsApp, Line, etc)?
Hi, your primary doesn't need to be on. If you do choose to leave it on, just turn off 'Data Switching' - this is to prevent your primary from accidentally using data. What we do is leave it on for SMS only since we use google fi and have our Japan eSIM on for data.
Hi, sorry but no. If you are concerned about accidentally using your home carrier, you can completely disable it, if it is also an eSIM. That way you would never make the mistake of using it.
I am going to travel to Japan on this coming Thurs. I have purchased mobal esim just now. Should I activate esim now before my departure from my home country, or should I activate after my arrival to Japan? What will be your advice?
Quick question about Ubigi. I plan on buying the 30 day plan for Japan. But could I activate it in the US before I travel to Japan. Then turn on airplane mode while I fly until I land in Tokyo. Or could I turn it on once I land in country. Also should I turn off my T-Mobile data while Ubigi is on?
Hi, you won't be able to fully activate your Ubigi until arrival in Japan since it won't be able to connect to the Japanese network. But you can start the process. And yes, turn off T-Mobile and/or disable data switching so it won't use your T-mobile data.
Hi, glad it's helpful! I personally always leave my primary on ( both on ) since I use that number to receive texts from home country. However, this is really up to you, if you don't need your primary then you can disable it. If you leave it on, just make sure to have data switching turned off.
@@KenshoQuest Hi, thank you so much. I need to know if I can buy the esims a couple of months before the trip and activate it the day of the trip? Does the 30 day period start the day I purchase or the activation day? Thanks so much.
Yes, as long as you turn off data switching. And you probably also want to switch to an international phone plan while traveling to avoid high phone costs.
Thank you for all your great videos I really appreciate your efforts. I am going to Japan in 1 week and wanted to buy and set up a 10GB Ubigi ESIM for a month plan even though I will only be there for 18 days. Is it possible to set it all up test it and turn it off until I get to Japan so that I won't be using any data? Thank you again robert
Hi, you can certainly start the setup process but you won't actually get to completely activate since it will want to connect to a Japanese Network. Because of this, you may want to wait and activate at the airport using the free airport wifi. If however you just want to test out installing a Ubigi eSIM there are plenty of super cheap ones available that you can install and test in your region. Note, do not delete or stop this eSIM during the setup process. As you will only get one.
@@KenshoQuest Just a thought. Since the 30 day if activated now would still cover my upcoming trip can't I just disable it after instalation by turning off use data or turn of roaming from this esim? Thank you for making this video, it was very helpful. Do you need an internet connection purely to download the QR code and/or activation code, or does it need to have a strong internet connection because it downloads something during the "installation" phase? Sounds like I should hold off until I've connected to the airport WiFi.
Hi, glad it's helpful :) Excellent question. It needs a strong consistent connection as during the activation your phone will be communicating with the carrier in order to 'activate' your eSIM.
