There are some hard interlaced artifacts during fade transitions that cannot be removed. Otherwise, this is the most pristine source for CN City I've yet to find which has all of the audio assets present.
The CN City era (often shortened to City) was the fourth era of Cartoon Network. It began on June 14, 2004, replacing Powerhouse, and was the main branding image of the network from that point until April 2, 2006, when the Yes! era began; the City bumpers (with later additions) were still shown until May 31, 2007. The first program to air under the CN City era was The Powerpuff Girls.
The era was named for its bumpers, which were set in a CGI city and featured CN characters interacting with one another. These bumpers were produced by Animal Logic. The City era is notable for the new logo it brought with it, as well as the female announcer (an actress from California named Nicole Vicius) and the slogan "This is Cartoon Network." The City era saw the emergence of more Cartoon Network Original Series, which began to replace both the classic cartoons and most of the Cartoon Cartoons. Live-action programming also began airing on CN during this era.
In this era, CN debuted an updated version of its original logo (with the checkerboard motif retained and the "C" and "N" blocks being the centerpiece, with "CARTOON NETWORK" spelled out below them) and a new slogan, "This is Cartoon Network!" The bumpers introduced as part of the re-brand featured 2D cartoon characters from its shows interacting in a CGI city composed of sets from their shows.
Bumpers were a big part of the CN City era's appeal. This was mostly due to the music, scenery, and the individual stories of each bumper (which ranged from a sixty-second bumper of the CN logo on a billboard to Juniper Lee trying to beat the Powerpuff Girls to the subway). There were many different sets and themes for the bumpers including the subway, movie theater, city hall, daytime, nighttime, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and Summer.
The Now/Then bumpers in this era were vastly different to those featured in the Powerhouse era. The plain blue and purple backgrounds of that era were replaced with CGI sets of locations in the city. White discs showed characters from the show that was on now, next (rarely), then, and (rarely) later. The music in these bumpers was jazz and techno-oriented, cycling between daytime and nighttime. The announcer for these bumps was Nicole Vicius, a then-27-year-old actress from California. In late 2005, Vicius was replaced as announcer in the evening Now/Then bumpers by CN characters, such as Billy, Bloo, Raj, Monroe, Ami and Numbuh 1.
One of the more notable periods of CN City was Cartoon Summer in 2005. In the CN universe, it was a party that lasted from day to night, featuring a signature theme song and programming that introduced several "modern classics" such as Camp Lazlo and The Life and Times of Juniper Lee.
At the beginning of this era, the programming was largely the same as it was in the Powerhouse era. However, throughout 2004 and 2005, many of the original Cartoon Cartoons ended and were removed from the network. By the end of this era, the only Cartoon Cartoons to still be in production were The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Codename: Kids Next Door. On September 12, 2005, due to popular demand, CN re-introduced The Cartoon Cartoon Show, a half-hour program featuring episodes of older Cartoon Cartoons that were no longer shown regularly on the network. The Top 5 was also revamped to include both newer CN Originals (such as Camp Lazlo and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) and re-runs of older Cartoon Cartoons.
During this era, nearly all of Cartoon Network's classic cartoon programming was relocated to its sister network, Boomerang, to make way for new shows. Only a few classics remained, such as Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes.
The CN City era was not first era of Cartoon Network to air live-action programming (Big Bag and Small World, as well as the movie Osmosis Jones, had aired previously), but it was the first to gradually promote live-action on a larger scale, which was controversial among some long-time fans. In November 2005, the network aired live-action films, which was met with some online and media fanfare. Some of these films, such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Osmosis Jones, and The Pagemaster, combined 2D animation and live actors, while others, such as The Goonies, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Batman, and Men in Black, were fully live-action.
According to animation supervisor Geoff Valent, the first proposal made by Animal Logic was a prototype bumper centered on Dexter's Laboratory (showcasing a photorealistic setting of Dexter's house and lab). Cartoon Network higher-ups were happy with that alone and approved the rest of the project. - Розваги
Happy 20th anniversary to the City Era of Cartoon Network.
Goddamn, this was peak Cartoon Network. The era before this was fun with Cartoon Cartoon Fridays and Toonami and whatnot, but this was just brilliant. Seeing all our favorite characters interact in a community was so cool.
What a great time to be a 2000s kid. Cartoon Network was never ever the same without these nostalgic bumpers. 😢
They need to make a movie and tv show about Cartoon Network City, not to mention making this city real so all who love this city can live there
The bloom, the clean models, the rich colours, this was a formative experiencie
20 Years... How time absolutely flies
The greatest bumpers in cartoon network history such great memories
Long live Cartoon Network
Turn this into a movie and tv show, make it become a legend for Cartoon Network
Apparently today's the 20th anniversary of CN City bumpers! Cool if I may say.
Thanks for sharing. I always loved these. This is what I imagined the cartoons did mon-thurs before CCF
Happy 20th Anniversary Cartoon Network City!
Almost feels like it was just yesterday don’t it. You turn on the tv, change it to CN and you see these bumpers for the first time. I really do wish that their checkered past incorporated the bumpers because it would really give off a nostalgic blast
@@TheToaprimezilla same
@@jediotter1079 and just for heck of it increase the lineup too. Add Fosters, KND, Powerpuff, Camp Lazlo, Original Teen Titans and Juniper Lee into their checkered past line along with the CN city bumpers. Bring Cartoon Network back to the way fans loved it. Because a lot these new shows ain’t cutting it anymore especially when you have to rely heavily on reruns of Gumball and TTG.
@@TheToaprimezilla that sounds fun
@@jediotter1079 heck if it increases the lineup Toonami rewind can also increase it’s lineup as well
50:20 Long live Cartoon Network City
Hear Hear. 🙂✊
I know modern kids don't really watch TV but I'd really love to try and run these bumpers past a lot of different demographics both old and young just to see what people think of them. The periods before and after this one just didn't seem to have anywhere near the raw atmosphere and charm of this one. Is it just nostalgiagoggles speaking? I wouldn't be surprised, but man, these still charm the socks off of me to this day.
Cartoon network logo in the clouds such good memories
This was a golden age.
i can't be the only one who misses this Cartoon Network logo. the new current one doesn't look as cool as the 2004 one
I do and I intend to dream about living in their city

This Between 2004 to 2008, Not 2004 to 2006 😠💢
I don't like the 2010s cartoons
2008 is better
2010s wasn’t all bad.
I wanted only entertainment not crap
Stop being bias and watch new stuff okay? Grow up!
Cartoon Network City is the best era now Cartoon Network sucks
I Agree.
I love these but the AI upscale is abysmal.
No worries, the original source will also be uploaded this week in all its interlaced mpeg-2 compression blocked glory.
Give the guy a break!
It looks loads better than the original broadcasts as it is. UA-cam’s compression algorithms aren’t doing any favor here either.
Nowadays animation sucks
That is a Goddamm lying statement you have completely made up! 🙄
If you believe this , you have stopped paying attention
Not all of it.
