That's amazing. Sani pass seams like a different pass depending on the weather you greated with on the day or that hour.. . Thanks for the comment and the taking the time to watch our video.
Very entertaining. That pass is dangerous no matter what the wise guys have to say about it. We once went down the Sani in thick mist, but my son handled the Discovery like a pro.
Glad you found it entertaining! And also find the pass to be dangerous. To us the danger differs from the conditions and vehicle driven. Well done to your son! Thank you for the support and watching our video..
Incredible. Definitely the most entertaining videos of your trip so far. Excellent driving and kudos to Gen for bravery. You must have kahunas of steel....:D I loved the footage. Loving following your journey. Best wishes for the next episode.
Thanks Anthony, so happy you enjoyed it & loved the feedback. We literally sitting here discussing how we can improve. Thanks for the support, definitely keeps us going. 🤩
@@justus.genstef Used to tow my small boat (4.4m) on the beach with it too. Mozambique, Sodwana, Cape Vidal and numerous spots here in KZN. I live in Umdloti. The Subaru never failed to get us on and off the beach to spearfishing launch sites.
Sani Pass is doable if you are a good driver. I drove up to Sani Lodge in my Toyota Venture, not a 4 x 4. I was 38 years old, female with a son who was 8 years old. No 4 x 4 needed.
That's great! I totally agree. No dont need a 4x4, if the weather is favourable. And the roads werent washing away. If we didn't have 4x4 we wouldn't have made it up and down would have sketchy! We are 3.7ton and a turning circle of a bus!
That would definitely be a challenge! You would have to have your big boy pants on for that! Have you experienced the ice up there before? Heard the locals burn tyres at the hairpins to melt the ice.
@@justus.genstef yes a totally different experience. I was in a stock unlocked 4x4 1.3 naturally aspirated with low range and road tyres. There was a couple of heavier vehicles that just kept sliding onto the inner apex
SA roads and taxis are definitely dangerous. If you think this pass isn't dangerous then so be it... We thought it was dangerous on the day we did it and the numours wrecks showed us it can be deadly...
We weren't talking about Sani pass on a beautiful sunny day. We rated Sani Pass in the weather we did it. Hope you stay tuned and maybe one day we will get a thumbs up from you..
Yes I've also seen 2 wheel drive cars going up there. In bad weather like we experienced it's a dangerous pass. That's why there has been so any accidents on this pass. Cars driving up and down that shouldn't for various reasons. So yes we thought it's a dangerous pass on the day we did it!
We must apologise for the sound issues, there are moments in there where UA-cam has softened the sound! Urrrrg how annoying!
I did the Sani Pass twice. Loved it. Second time with a lot of slush but the Audi Q7 did it.
That's amazing. Sani pass seams like a different pass depending on the weather you greated with on the day or that hour.. . Thanks for the comment and the taking the time to watch our video.
I really enjoyed this. There had never been a better, more realistic video of this trip. Slow is Pro👌
Thanks so much, this comment has made our day. 😃
What makes it even more remarkable is your courage to drive it in a Landrover.
100% Agreed, that’s why we had to jack the car up before we went down the hill again 😂🤣
Freaking cool. Most scenic. Looks like a must visit for us. Thanks for sharing a few more moments from the life of Just Us. "Slow is pro 😀👌"
So glad you enjoyed it! It was definitely challenging, glad it wasn’t the usual clear day you see on most Sani Pass videos 😊
Wooooow you make it look so easy...guess you are a pro👌👌👌
Thanks for your comment! It's easy if you take one section at a time.. Thank you for your support!
Sani Pass, one of the best off road vehicle adventures in Africa 🇿🇦 ...been there , done that ....
Can't agree more! Glad you already experienced this amazing pass!! Thanks for the support and comment!
The best Sani Pass video by far . . . and here I was thinking climbing up was the hardest!
We are so glad you enjoyed it!! And many thanks for your support and comment. Much appreciated

Did it twice in my 2004 Subaru Forester with Michelin Latitude Cross tyres. No sweat.
That’s awesome that’s why Subaru is one of the best rally vehicles out there.

Hey Mate...that blonde handbrake of yours is hilarious!
Your comment made us laugh!! Glad you think she is hilarious. She definitely made the episode!!

Africa's riskiest journey? I don't think so. All you have to do is take it easy. Good memories.
Glad you had good memories!
And drive a Landy!
Sani Pass is safer than most roads in Africa😂
Love to hear which roads people think are bad in Africa or SA. Bring them on
@@justus.genstef try Van Zyl’s pass in Namibia - lots about it on UA-cam
Total B.S. I drove up to the top then on to Mokhotlong and back down again in a Peugoet 504, dead easy no drama at all.
Some are braver than others. I wouldn't drive a 504 in the weather we experienced..well done to you.
Absolutely... I would like to see him in Selous reserve in Tanzania 😅 I will subscribe to his channel right there 😂
Change the Landy to a Toyota and its just another road. Did it in December, found a couple up there in a Lexus with normal low profile tires.
I hear you.. but then there won't be adventure... We will stick to the Landy for now! Hope you enjoyed the Episode
Scenic not deadly. SA roads with taxi's and trucks are deadly, but not Sani pass.
SA roads and taxis are definitely dangerous. If you think this pass isn't dangerous then so be it... We thought it was dangerous on the day we did it and the numours wrecks showed us it can be deadly...
You obviously haven't travelled much in Africa. Sani pass is a dawdle in the park. In fact in rsa there's tons more risky rds to be had.

Oh , so sorry, been up and down it several times all weather. It's a dawdle even with a motorhome.
Taxis drive this road every day 😂
Yes they do. When the weather is as bad as we had it. No taxes were driving! They were parked up at the top and bottom of the pass..
Dangerous😂, went up in the snow in a mom’s taxi Volvo XC70.
I laugh in the face of danger! We weren't laughing when we experienced it....
I think your choice of music could have been a bit less gloomy
Thank you for the feed back. All feed back is much appreciated. And thank you for the support

Deadliest road. 😂😂😂👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Just curious do you not like the episode or do you disagree that it’s one of the deadliest roads?
Fine episode, but deadliest road……really! Just a steep dirt road…….jeepers, people make so much fuss
