The best part is while Ben is being mean to the other helpers to motivate them and help them get past their insecurities, you can tell Ben has clearly been waiting to beat up Manny because he had it coming 😂
Man, this is probably one of Alien Force’s best episodes
I would say one of the best Ben 10 episodes
This episode goes to show how Ben could easily destroy/take over the universe if he wanted to and NO ONE could stop him
It also shows how analytical he is, as he knew exactly which aliens to use to give each of the Plumbers’ kids a hard time:
Helen is tough to tackle cause of her speed, but when dealing with a crowd like Echo Echo, her attention is divided and she can be overwhelmed.
Goop’s body is entirely liquid so Pierce’s spikes are practically void. Sure, he can knock away Goop’s gravity projector, but the Omnitrix can instantly generate a new one. Also, if this wasn’t just a training exercise, if Ben was actually trying to murder them, he could have easily killed Pierce using the acid when he encased him in Goop’s body.
Manny may have a lot of brute strength, but he’s not that smart and is WAY too cocky, which was super easy for Ben to take advantage of. There are a lot of aliens that could have defeated him just as easily, but he fact that Ben busted out the most feral one just shows how badly he wanted to humble Manny.
Big Chill is already OP as hell, but fire and ice are pure opposites, so Alan never even stood a chance. And that’s not even taking into account the fact that Alan is the least experienced member of the Plumbers’ kids. Ben also belittled Alan, taunting him and breaking him down. Ben isn’t the type of person who mentally/emotionally breaks down his enemies. He might be a little sarcastic and witty every now and then, but he never outright insults anyone without first having been provoked. 100% if the others hadn’t showed up, he would have whooped Alan’s butt.
99% of the time Ben is holding back. He could be an absolute power-hungry monster if he wanted, but he’s not. He’s a good person who only does what’s necessary to protect himself and others. And the universe should be grateful for that.

No because he's trying too hard there to sound evil. This approach is cleaner. The calmness is much more menacing. Much like Bad Ben, who we meet later in Omniverse.

This episode is the scariest and most competent Ben has ever been. I always think back to it whenever Ben seems to lose a fight too easily or just isn't as competent as he should be.
A big part of it is ego imo
If ben didnt had morals, he could kill most of his villains pretty easily.

Eugene Son wrote Pierce in this episode thinking of how any competitive guy would react to being around Ben. In his words, "No one likes being number 2, but you either quit or you use it to motivate yourself to be better." He saw Pierce as that guy who didn't like being the second best Plumber and used it to motivate himself to become better.
i love ben as a villain in this and not just bad but in some cases like actually terrifying jumping out of the shadows beating someone down and leaving
My takeaway from this episode is that the universe would be totally fucked if Ben actually decided to become a villain
Edit: Ultimate Kevin arc gave us something like that and I really dig it!!!
Helen might be one of my favourite characters despite us only seeing her like 3 times, Kinecelerans have such a cool design

I love this one "Evil Ben" is too good, he plays the part well cause all the sumo slammers he watched.
This episode genuinely scared me with how threatening he acted, just imagine how extreme he could go if he went genuinely bad.
If Ben had lost his loved ones, he would have turned out like this for real. It's horrifying how scary he is when he is competent. Buddy locks in and suddenly I don't see the goofy teen
The could have given us a very arrogant, cocky Ben, but settled for an intimidating and cunning one instead, and I’m glad they did
i love the concept about evil ben, like a doppelgänger, its just so unique, and yuri did really well with it
It would have been funny if Rath just spoiled all the plans to the fourarms guy.
It's great to see the Plumbers Helpers again! Yuri was amazing in this episode, and you can tell that this episode is an inspiration for his performance in Spider-Man 2! And Zeno, Juliet, Khary and Adam being in this episode together is truly spectacular!!

Between Ben in this episode, All Might in Midoriya and Bakugo's exam against him, and Superman in...a spoiler I won't give because it's a movie I'm hoping Blind Wave will react to someday...there's something really fun about a superhero getting to pretend that they're a villain for a bit. It's a bit of guilt pleasure catharsis, since we shouldn't like the hero being the bad guy but at the same time it's REALLY enjoyable to watch them ham it up and just annihilate everything in their way.
Often has the bonus of showing even more proof that the hero isn't harmless, they're simply always choosing to be a good person and not just throw their strength around like their villains do.
Love seeing more of Max Force this team is so interesting and work so well together and Ben giving us a glimpse of how much trouble we would be in if he went evil it’s insane. I especially love the Rath vs Manny “fight” Ben was complete menace
If you were curious, Cooper was absent because his abilities would've revealed the true nature of the satalite.
You also mentioned the Omnitrix working perfectly in this episode; my headcanon is that the Omnitrix is at least somewhat sentient, and the mistransformations are a mix of the Omntrix knowing a form more suited to the situation than what Ben wants and it picking up personality traits from Ben, and messing with him, particularly in this season, where it's probably angry at him.

That happens a lot in media, it’s probably because when they’re the protagonist we see how much luck and improvisation is needed to win. Where as if we see them from the outside there’s non of that, thus making them seem more competent.

It's totally valid to critique a cartoon's set of rules that it establishes and how it deviates from them, which Ben 10 does, but questioning "cartoon logic" every 5 seconds is the most annoying shit ever. It's literally a fucking cartoon. You might as well question how the fuck the fish characters in Spongebob can talk. Or how Bugs Bunny can survive a gun shot to the face. I love Blind Wave, been watching them forever, but oh my god... Calvin shut up!! (in the nicest way possible).
