Stumbled on this channel thanks to the youtube home page and I thought "yeah why not, I'll check it out" (it was the IH serious business video) and after binging 18 videos I figured I might as well subscribe. I love reactions because I know I'd react so I rather see how others react.
I mean when it comes to fallout there is a reason (or rather multiple) why Fallout New Vegas is considered the best one, it wasn't made by bethesda. They have a bunch of good games, and lately they have been better, but they do deserve the bad faith at this point. Great reaction.
@@Mare_Man dunno about gameplay, because you're probably comparing it to 4 and 76, but definitely better worldbuilding. Also, the NV team was far more limited in time, and they basically had to develop something with what Bethesda used to make Fallout 3, so you can't really fault them on the gameplay aspect, especially when they were far better when balancing out the RPG mechanics.

I find strange pleasure in reacting to reactions to my favorite content. What better way to add rewatchability to stuff like indie animations than to watch other peoples' opinions of it, and talking to you as if you could somehow hear me through a pre recorded video? It's strangely fun, and this video is a great example of why. Like, holy shit; I'm laying in bed and watching you process this madness for the first time, saying "oh, it gets so much fucking worse..." when Bethesda is... well, Bethesda. This is how the "It Just Works" meme spawned.
It's kinda crazy, cuz before this, the general reputation for Bethesda was something like "Oh, a lot of their games are kinda unfinished, but hey at least there's good mod support so the fans can fix it, and we do still like the stories and gameplay, and most bugs are just kinda funny, no big deal" And then this came out, any goodwill they might have had was just fucking BURNED.

The volume for IH's video was a bit low (maybe I'm just deaf tho lol), but otherwise great video! I luckily never had to deal with 76. I own it but it was a gift from a family member who did not want it. I hope Bethesda has learned their lesson in time for ES6.

It may have been suggested already, but I’d suggest reacting to IH’s No Mans Sky video as a sort of counterbalance to this one-it’s a story that starts out similarly to the Fallout 76 debacle, but shows the company in question actually making the correct choices.

Oh, I remember all of this, and laughing. Never been big into multi-player games, I skipped this to begin with. But holy crap, just one thing after another, as Internet Historian showed. New Vegas is widely regarded, particularly its story, but its stability, especially with how old it is, is questionable. Though there are mods for the PC version that help.
13:58 oh it gets worse btw. He doesn’t mention it in this video but some of those power armor editions had a cherry power armor helmet, said helmet needed a total recall as whatever they used to make it red had cause mold to grow inside the helmet.
Found this video as a recommended video so I thought I'd check it out. Loved your reaction to the video but I gotta say. As someone who preordered the power armor edition I didn't buy it for the bag. I bought it for the helmet that goes in the bag. Also I played the game for several hundred hours at launch and I never had any bugs happen to me. One of my friends who was playing with me had a small graphics glitch but that was all. The whole time I was playing it I didn't even realise so many people hated it because everyone I played with had no problems with it.
WOW! Thank you for sharing this. That's crazy. I wonder how many other people had that same experience... where they genuinely love the game... and so many others hate it with a vengeance at the same time.

Seeing a multi-billion dollar gaming company being this inept during that time and maybe until now is just beyond me. Like for the fact that they can not even make a right bag and then probably have no capable programmers to make a safe and secure website that will not likely to accidently dox you. They were once decent, yet, here we are.
I returned to this game a few weeks ago and it is mega fun. They even removed all the atom shop nonsense and you get 100s of atoms just playing the game. Plus, they didn’t mention the lack of npcs that everyone hated which was fixed as well.
Bethesda has only gotten away with it for so long cause the games they released were always highly moddable so any bugs and such where usually patched out by the players themselves so Bethesda never had to lift a finger except maybe for the occassional patch they would make themselves. However since Fallout 76 is always online, means no mods allowed which ergo meant that the shitty quality their games are generally known for was shown for all to see since they didn't have modders to cover up their mistakes. Though as you have seen it's not just the game that ended up giving them a bad rap and eventually saw them bought out by Microsoft.
Fallout 76 can be summed up as Bethesda’s mishandling of the Fallout IP coming back to bite them. There’s a lot of tomfoolery from even BEFORE the game from not caring about the lore to “the fans will fix the bugs.” It’s a rabbit hole in and of itself. It’s something I myself didn’t realize until playing Fallout 4.
Funnily enough, Fallout 76, starting circa 2020-2021, is in a actually reasonably playable state, and is not starved for content anymore. Make no mistake, Fallout 76's "redemption" still pales in comparison to No Man's Sky's. It is still quite glitchy. But it is playable and there is now an actual, potentially fun gameplay loop now. EDIT: So basically, 11:42 happened
btw, internet historian is a group of people. So yes, millions of views are not enough for the amount of work put into it. I mean, look at the animation and how they upload once every four months. Making your own content is a risk tbh lol.
I couldn't agree more. IH deserves more exposure. I feel like present day UA-cam makes it easier for creators that don't create original content over those that do. Saddens me, cause I remember when videos were more original, but the platform has changed, and... sometimes that's how things go. It would be nice to have another "golden era" of UA-cam content though where things become more unique again.
As someone who played this game, and experienced every bit of breaking news, I’ll tell you that IE is spot on with everything he detailed. Though one thing he left out was that players used a certain exploit used in taking items from NPC corpses and used it on actual players. I knew that Todd was complete BS. I knew it was just Fallout 4 but online. What I didn’t know is that the bugs that were carried from Fallout 4 were worse, and even more nightmarish bugs plagued me. After numerous crashes i decided to quit. I heard that they finally added in interactive NPCs, but it’s too little too late with me. I still think you should try Fallout 4 or at least New Vegas though, Lila. New Vegas’ DLC content is phenomenal.
I would forgive anyone who would think this was just an elaborate joke. Every time I watch a reaction to this video and they ask "Is this real, or is this a joke?" my heart sinks, because it is not, in fact, a joke. I wish it was, but unfortunately...
Yeah, i got the power armor edition. The replacement bag wasn't worth the dox. They even recalled some of the power armor helmets for mold issues. Personally, never gonna purchase another thing from them ever again. Just know, it all started with them making horse armor dlc back in Oblivion.
Bought the game on release and played for around 100 hours before I couldn't take it anymore, started playing again after 4 years and it's somewhat playable now with actual story lines that don't randomly bug out and become impossible to complete *99% of the time, it's still a bethesda title*. Loved your reaction on the video
I'm a proud owner of a 200$ pile of garbage known as the Power Armor Edition. I did eventually get the canvas bag, and it's pretty good, 200$ worth of good? Not even close, but I did buy it with the understanding that it would probably disappoint.
Not saying there aren't better uses for a time machine, but I'd like to see what would've happened if someone went back with a copy of IH's vid to show to Bethesda before they started production, and if they could have salvaged the situation to deliver what the audience wanted.

Yeah, i got the power armor edition.
The replacement bag wasn't worth the dox.
They even recalled some of the power armor helmets for mold issues.
Personally, never gonna purchase another thing from them ever again.
Just know, it all started with them making horse armor dlc back in Oblivion.
I dont know how I got here, but i dont mind it.

Fallout 4 & Skyrim were the last 2 good games they made, and some people will argue that Fallout 4 isn't that great.
Bought the game on release and played for around 100 hours before I couldn't take it anymore, started playing again after 4 years and it's somewhat playable now with actual story lines that don't randomly bug out and become impossible to complete *99% of the time, it's still a bethesda title*.

I'm a proud owner of a 200$ pile of garbage known as the Power Armor Edition. I did eventually get the canvas bag, and it's pretty good, 200$ worth of good? Not even close, but I did buy it with the understanding that it would probably disappoint.
Not saying there aren't better uses for a time machine, but I'd like to see what would've happened if someone went back with a copy of IH's vid to show to Bethesda before they started production, and if they could have salvaged the situation to deliver what the audience wanted.
