@@inthemix have you used UVI Falcon? I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on it. Better yet, I would love if you did tutorial series. The way you break down your tutorials for sounds design and FL Studio makes it so much easier to approach.
I produced my first beat today. I never completed any of the beats before but I completed one from start to end in one day. Although it's not the best amd still needs changes, I am quite happy with it. Just came jere to thank you!
the highest quality tutorials on the net. i thought i was just going to learn how a brass synth is made, but i learned how to use a second filter as a ceiling, that less voices might actually be a more lush and analog sound, and a reminder how important it is to vary velocity with synths as those subtle changes are crucial to keeping electronic sound fresh to the ears. thank you!
Great! Here's another tip: A quick envelope on the pitch of ONE of the oscillators - used on many classic synth brass patches. Steve Porcaro (Toto/Africa) does this himself, he calls it the Blip.
Thanks Michael I've been waiting for this Tutorial all the way from Zimbabwe we've learned a lot here actually uve made us great producers thank u so much!
These Synth Tutorials are really awesome! I can adapt with any synth, learn why certain things are done and truly understand instead of just copying a sound not knowing what I am doing. Hope you do more of these in future. Thanks for this great source of knowledge!
Just wanna say how grateful for these videos I am, I started my masters in electronic music production in September after years of being on a course almost totally dedicated to performance. I didn't realise how much I didn't know until my first couple of production lessons and these sound design videos have helped me catch up so quickly.
You're a great teacher! Keep things to the point, but clearly explain and show what you're doing. All the stuff with the envelopes and filters was super helpful.

Hey Mike, just wanted to thank you for the amazing content. It's making my life so much easier and I'm getting better every day! Also, I think it'd be great if you explained some native FL synths. I've been expanding my arsenal lately, but the native synths are where most people make first contact with sound design. There are already many tutorials out there, but nobody does this like you. Trust me: I've looked.
Thank you this was lovely. Had to finish syntorial before I could properly appreciate this but now that I a have done so your explanation was exceptionally clear and smooth.
Same for me with the ambient patches: exactly what I needed, and by a route I hadn't expected, which encourages me to think a bit more laterally and not just dl new synths in the hope of finding the right preset.
*Michael Wynne* , This is an incredibly well done lesson about many aspects of synthesizer sound editing! From this video I finally understood a whole bunch of terms I've been hearing for years that never made sense to me before, since I'm more into presets than tweaking sounds. Excellent job!
The thing you said about the saws and their imperfections in old synths made me smile. The first time you start putting your synths through an oscilloscope you start to wonder what even passes for a saw wave. I recently got a Cobalt 8 which has various cool saw variants kind of emulating this behaviour. Other synths I have don't have oscillators this complex. Fascinating in terms of possibilities and importantly for me it's portable.
I see a lot of comments saying this, but thanks so much again. You seem like an extremely patient person, I never have to pause your videos to keep up.
seriously though your channel and Andrew Huang's are like the only synth sound design channels I need. Huang's to get inspired, yours to get inspired AND actually learn how to do the shit lol. Keep doing what you're doing man, love it.
Thank you so much for all the content you have put out through all these years. You're pretty much the most technical producer/teacher I know. Thanks again brother 👊🏻 much love from Brazil 🇧🇷
Hey! I have the serum pack, it would be amazing to see some more synth instruments in this pack, like flutes and guitars. It's rare to find the effort you put into being clear, concise and unbiased in your tutorials, it's highly appreciated!
So happy to hear another update to the Serum pack is coming! Love all the sounds in there and they've become some of my go-tos for sure. Just reliable, great sounds. Workhorses if you will. I don't have anything specific I'd like to see in the update but I would love to see some of the new features in Serum's latest update implemented, such as the LFO modulation!
Bro, i just wanted to thank u for teaching me how to work FL 20 and basically music engineering since the day the Covid started!. I didnt know how the heck i was going to learn until i found ur page & every video felt like it was meant just for me.. Keep doing what ur doing and dont forget to teach ur new followers the same game u gave me at the beginning! So either recycle some episodes or TELL THESE NEW JACKS TO GO BACK TO LATE MARCH and watch EVERY VIDEO and like i did learn how to work FL 20 and music engineering.
Thank you for your dedication Michael, always glad to watch tutorials from you, learnt a lot from you. You have a great way of presenting things and your explanations are cristal clear. I would definetely be interested in a Strings tutorial !
The new "chapters" feature is amazing. I can add all the important parameter settings right into the video - I don't know why this wasn't a feature 5 years ago!
KC & The Sunshine Band - Give it up ❤ This is awesome! I didn't even know that this sound is a synth version of "brass". Thanks! And btw, I hope these series will include synth strings.
Great Job Michael.I really learnt a lot from this video.Thank you for all the other amazing videos(which is all your videos).I wouldn't have gotten where I am today In music production if it was not for "In The Mix".Once again Thanks a lot.
Such a great tutorial + such a great sound (hard to believe it's from Serum!). If you have time someday, could you make tutorial (or just add the sound to Serum back): the classic pizz (heard in Sash - Encore une fois, Dj Quicksilver - Bellissimma, Faithless - Insomnia). Quite frankly, I think you are the only one who could make a tutorial I would understand :D
Nice Video! But it isn't added to the playlist by now. Could you make a tutorial for a marimba sound? I used just sine waves and reverb, but I didn't really get the sound...
You Make Everything easy To Understand..... So Grateful To Have You😊😊😊
The quality of videos has been improved by far. Well done Michael.
Thank Alex, I've been working on it :)

Ahh yes the classic Synth brass
I have no idea what Synth brass is.
Lmao.
Lmao😂
Reminded me of spongebob's narrator
Neither did I till 2day
