I always say you show cars I wish I could drive. I can smell the leaded fuel from the rich burning carbs. Great builds and history. Thank you. Happy Easter to all.
Back in about 1994 or 1995, I got to see one of those yellow Yenko Camaros in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. It was a 4-speed car. The owner actually let me sit in the car, and row thru the gears (while the car wasn’t running and stationary). I knew it was rare, but didn’t know it was THAT rare!
I wish I had gotten pictures in it. However, getting to see and sit in the car, was a complete surprise & that was before the days of phones with cameras. The car was in a private collection, and I’m sure that not alot of other people had ever seen it.
Revell did a excellent job ,when they released this kit,one day i'd like to see it reissued with stock exhaust manifolds and non chambered exhaust system.I was surprised to hear that not all dealers knew of this program.
Revell did a great job on this kit. I have used the exhaust from the 69 COPO Nova in one of these Camaros. You have to really modify the engine crossmember for it to work.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler i did the same thing on a Z28 i've been working on,but kitbashing can get expensive for me up here in Canada.I really need to learn how to resin cast to cut down on the expense.
Great looking Yenko Camaros. I always call my old builds 'time capsules' it great to have one to note the skill level you had back then. Thanks for the automotive history lessons, always great to learn how things were handled back in the day. Just wish i could have been old enough to actually order a new musclecar from the factory.
Thanks 👍! I can relate. I was born in 1973 so I didn't get to see them when new. When I was old enough to drive the rare ones were at shows but plain Camaros , Mustangs and Chevelles were affordable!
Excellent vid and history lesson as always! The builds aren't too shabby either...LOL. What are your thoughts on the recently released AMT 1969 Camaro Yenko 427 kit versus the REVELL kit(s) which you built? I haven't built either kit yet, but I'm itching to give it a try (maybe one in each of the six colors???). 😄👍👌✌🇺🇸
Thank you!. I have only seen the AMT 69 Camaro SS conv. Have not looked at any of the AMT 69 Camaro’s since. The pics I have seen online of them show me the Revell one is the way to go. I will say the AMT 67 and 68 Z/28’s are nice but now we have the Revell 67 that looks great.
I so look forward to Saturdays to learn something new and see some great work, thanks. A bit off topic, I am desperately trying to build a '71 Dodge Charger 500 and just cannot find a hood for it. The resin hood I just got was very poorly made and inaccurate. Any ideas where I can get a '71 hood without paying $100 plus for an MPC Richard Petty Stock car?
I think the resin hood from MCW 73 Charger SE is the same. You might ask him if he will sell the hood. facebook.com/mcwfinishes/posts/125th-73-charger-se-body-and-hood-cost-is-4000-plus-shipping/1244709325712917/

The Camaros look great, cool history as always. I had a couple of 69 RS Camaros years ago, and as always wish I had them back!
Thanks 👍! That would be cool to own a 69 RS!
Great job on the yenkos hugger orange always looks at home on a 69 camaro
Thank you!

Thanks 👍
Very nice work 👍
Thank you!
wow i always thought yenko packages were rated 500 hp beautiful builds dou sweet and thanks for sharing 😎
Yenko didn't do much to these. He got Chevrolet to build them with factory parts so all he needed to do was add a few parts and put the decals on.
Sharp builds of a rare muscle car!
Thank you!
Thanks for the history lesson on the Yenkos cool man
Never knew that!.
You bet!

Two very nice builds, I really like the red... Factory correct or not.
Thank you!
Interesting tidbit about these dealers not knowing about the COPO program.
Surprising right! But I bet GM didn't want to advertise this as it was a way of getting around some of the cooperate rules!
Camaros oh yeeah
Yess!
Did you have any trouble with this kit leaning to the left?
One of the Revell Camaros did that to me. Turned out the interior tub was not glued in square and was twisting the chassis.

Bitchin Camaro book ends.... cool... build on 👍
Thank you!
Corvair?
Yenko Stinger was a Corvair!
Thanks... never knew of the Corvair
i later googled it to my surprise.
Thanks for the great build vids & history lessons😉👍
No problem, Don was really into those cars and not so much on the muscle cars but he was also a business man and saw a demand for them.
