Hello there. I guess we had you from the very first seconds. Isn't it a wonderful experience? You'll find out rather soon that they're not only Kpop or just a boy band. They are just on another level. They're so talented, warm hearted, and caring human beings. We love them to pieces and they love us for a reason. You'll find out pretty soon. Their discography is so diverse and meaningful because of their lyricism. They write about social issues, injustice, mental health, self love, hope, etc. And fight for human rights every opportunity they have. Great young men. Anyway, welcome to the journey.

Nice reaction! I'm American, 53, and discovered BTS about 3 years ago. I was too old to get into the boy bands by the time they came out, and was an alt-rock music snob who wouldn't have given them the time of day even if I was their target demographic
But BTS is something *different*... Nobody is rapping, singing, dancing, & writing music all at once and at their level....BTS is not kpop. Kpop is an industry, and comprises artists that range in music genres from rap, rock, R&B, hip-hop and pop
BTS however, does ALL those genres, excelling at each. And I guarantee you that no 90s boyband was doing BTS' intricate and demanding choreography, much less while simultaneously singing
Give their native language songs a listen. I don't understand the language either, I read subtitles or look up translations. Their lyrics often contain deep meaningful messages. But it doesn't matter the language if the music has an amazing beat and melody and the cadence of the lyrics sounds good
My first intro to BTS was their song 'MIC Drop', Steve Aioki remix. I was instantly hooked and started looking up anything I could find on BTS. Never looked back and no regrets. They are truly talented songwriters and performers.

Awww sweetie : As an Army Mom (55 yrs old) who currently lives on a tiny Island in the Caribbean. Been with our boys officially since 2016 and have seen BTS reactioners in here grow their channel from zero - back then in 2013 - to millions today in 2022. Always on the look out for new Army and zero apologies, hun. I grew up loving all the boy bands you mentioned plus older.....Jackson Fives (when Micheal was a kid) etc. As I say to every new Army: Welcome Aboard. This 'Boy Band'....as they're now Men today. Learning about each of their characters may seem intimidating as they're seven. No worries. If you like their voices/dance moves. Slowly check their world wide vids and understand why they are the number One Group in the world with 4 billion plus fans. More than half the world's population. Army have surpassed Beyonce's Bee hive or Taylor's or any 'Murican/World wide artist to date. For a reason. Subscribed and looking forward to your journey down the BTS rabbit hole. We automatically welcome you with open arms and....looking forward to your future content . Ps. Don't feel forced to like every one of their songs. I don't. F**k it. Like every B Band. We like what we like. Just give your honest thoughts, babe.....💜💜💜

    Hi Jess!
Loved your reaction! Dynamite and Butter are great songs, and they were incredibly popular all across the world. BTS has a huge discography, so if you have a specific type/genre of music you are looking for, I'm sure people in the comments (including myself) will help you find the right songs for you. For now, I would recommend checking out these:
MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix) MV (2017)
On Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima (2020)
    Black Swan MV (2020)
The vast majority of their songs are in Korean, so I highly suggest you turn on the closed captions for your future reactions.
    Looking forward to more!

I love this SO much! As a fellow Aussie woman who grew up listening to BSB and all our beloved 90's pop, it makes me so genuinely happy to see BTS getting more recognition in my home country.
They've only released a few English language songs, the vast majority of their songs are in Korean, with some also available in Japanese. That being said, 99% of their music videos have subtitles if you turn them on, so you'll always know what they're saying :)
That being said, it would be remiss of me not to mention that aside from their obvious singing/dancing/rapping skills, all 7 members of the group are genuinely LOVELY human beings. They're honestly hilarious, so if you do decide to check them out more, be prepared to fall into a rabbit hole of amazing talent and pure chaos :)
We're always here to guide you if you need help navigating your way around

You're so sweet...and from what you said, oh, man are you in for a treat.
Watch some live performances to see what they really can do. They are some of the best live performers in the world. Ever.
Then, when you actually delve deeper and start to read the lyrics and understand their backstory( all the shit they had to get through to get where they are now) it will become apparent why they have the loyal following they have. They are undisputably the most popular group in the world right now. Dont expect all Kpop groups to be like this, because you will be dissapointed. Although there are some that are worth checking out, of course.
Enjoy your exploring into the BTS world, I am hoping for more reactions.

I'll say this first thing so there's a mistake isn't made going forward. Remember K-pop is not a genre. K-pop is a western term given to popular Korean music.
That being said you have only heard the very tip of the iceberg. As you continue to explore their music you will understand why they're fanbase is so widespread so diverse and so devoted. I'm a 65-year-old man and am proud to be a BTS ARMY.
They write most of their music and produce much of it themselves and 99% of their songs have far deeper messages than the occasional happy-go-lucky feel good songs.
They write about societal issues, mental health, female empowerment, being and loving yourself to name a few.
    Welcome to BTS.

  • @Anne-pd2hk
    @Anne-pd2hk 2 роки тому +6

    Love BTS!
Maybe check out Black Swan (and turn on the CC, as most of it is in Korean).
It's about the fear of losing passion for the art you once loved to create. BTS has been very open and vulnerable with their fans for over a decade now, and this is just another song that shows their authenticity.

You have done 2 out of 3 of their English tracks, you only have around 300 left to go! These are all in Korean, some in Japanese, with a bit of English mixed in. Subtitles are your friend as their lyricism is amazing, but NEVER use auto-generated captions! They cover such a wide range of music genres, rap, pop, ballads, neo soul, R&B, EDM so there will be something for you. Once you go Korean you never go back.💜

one thing that sets BTS apart from other western boy bands is that they do a lot of hiphop/rap songs and were originally a hiphop group. 2 of their rappers were well-known underground rappers. Together with their 3rd rapper, the 3 of them are the primary songwriters and producers for the group - they have a heavy hand in the vast bulk of their discography, but much less so on their english songs like this one. Their title track/viral songs don't showcase their talent in rap, and their rap-heavy work isn't as promoted in the mainstream. But anyway, here are some BTS song suggestions based on genre/sound:
    - Hip Hop: Born Singer (they sample from Born Sinner by rapper J. Cole), Hip Hop Lover, No More Dream, We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2, Spinebreaker, Anpanman, Baepsae.
    - rap songs by their 3 rappers: Cyphers #1 - #4, Outro: Tear, Ddaeng
    - each of their 3 rappers also wrote/produced their own rap solo mixtapes, check out Joke by RM. Agust D by Agust D. Daydream by J-Hope.
    - Neo-soul: Singularity by V (the music vid is titled comeback trailer). Primary songwriter for it is their rapper RM.
    - Jazz/blues vibes: Rain by BTS. 134340 by BTS. House of Cards by their 4 vocalists. Still With You by Jungkook.
    - RnB vibes: Paradise, Home, Tomorrow, Hold Me Tight, Autumn/Dead Leaves.
    - Rock elements: Dionysus, Boy In Luv, Fake Love. Intro: Persona by RM. More by J-Hope. The Last by Agust D.
    - Metal elements: Throw Away by RM.
    - Latin vibes: Airplane Pt. 2. Filter by Jimin.
    - ballad/vocal-heavy: Pied Piper, Louder Than Bombs, Heartbeat. The Truth Untold by their 4 vocalists. Epiphany by Jin.
    - Michael Jackson sounding: Danger
Their title tracks/ viral songs are geared towards the mainstream, so those will be more pop or EDM. Though they do often mix in other genres/sounds too. Like Mic Drop has more hiphop elements. Black Swan is like hiphop, pop with some classical elements. Blood Sweat and Tears has moombahton, trap, and tropical house. Fire and Not Today are great songs too.

    • @janetuss6496
      @janetuss6496 2 роки тому +1

@@djlivvy46 yes, there's quite a lot of things that sets them apart, including their dancing skills and the fact that they write/compose/produce their own songs. I just couldn't say all the points in one comment, so just had to pick one to highlight lol. Their dancing is not like regular pop boy bands, they are more on the level of professional dancers.

You just discovered something very good. And I say this because BTS is quality music with a variety of genres; 4 extraordinary vocalists with very wide ranges, registers and different tonalities, as well as their own styles that blend perfectly; 3 rappers who are wonderful, one of the best there is; all with a strong passion for music, they are musicians, they play various instruments as part of their hobbies; they compose, write and can participate in production (one of them is a renowned producer); they are very good dancers; In addition to this, they are simple, humble, very united boys who adore Army (their fandom).
As you can see, they are a group of boys but they do not resemble what we know as a boy band.
BTS are 7 great artists gathered in a group, who like to spread love and beautiful messages through their songs.
That is why in Army we are millions and millions of people, with different genders, nationalities, beliefs, languages, musical tastes and ages (from little ones to people of 80 or more).

I grew up in the 90s and im in my 40s now and I used to like Backstreet boy and Westlife but BTS is whole another level as an artist! Butter and Dynamite don't really do them justice coz they write and compose/produce all their other Korean songs that are actually really meaningful and poetic! They are also amazing dancer so the dance move they show in Butter is like their kinder garden level dance! You might want to check out "On Kinematic Manifesto", Mic Drop", "Fake Love", "Fire", "Blood Sweat and tear", "Dope", "DNA", etc. These are their title track but their B track are equally good if not better!!! THey are just amazing overall!! Plus they are known in the industry to be very humble, down to earth and funny1

If you can find explanation videos, react to them in the same video as the official music video. Play the Big Hit intro and they shouldn’t block the video.
