What a talent!
I was beyond blessed to have this man be my introduction to opera almost 20 years ago. I was a high schooler who had never even seen an opera and, through a convoluted series of hijinks, ended up as a supernumerary in a production of Cenerentola with Mr. Tarver as the leading man. Being in rehearsals, enveloped in this gorgeous music, I was hooked for life.
Aside from his incredible talent and training, I can't express how kind and considerate he is, too. He even made suggestions to me during breaks on how I could try to get into opera myself. A few years later, I was at conservatory training to be an operatic tenor. While illness made it so that fate wouldn't come to pass, I will forever love opera thanks to him.
I hope I can see him perform again and tell him all he's done for me.

Bueno, esto ya es otra cosa, y encima pronuncia de maravilla; eso sí, también se saltan un par de estrofas, pero da gusto escucharles, tanto a Tarver como al coro.

Lo único que no me gusta es que es la versión de Piano y no de orquesta...esa ejecución del solo merecía una orquesta.

Josh Lewis this is oratorio!! It is customary for the soloist to use music in this genre!! Checkout other oratorio like Handel’s Messiah, Verdi Requiem!! So, no he doesn’t need to memorize it at all....
