Hi from the UK. Nightwish...there are few words to describe their professionalism. There are many layers to their epic performances. Floor sells the story-line. You have experienced a classic ":Floorgasm". Happy days. Great reactions. "Wow"!
The show opener from Wacken 2013 is "Dark Chest of Wonders" and it is awesomely high energy from the get-go. Also from Wacken 2013 you must react to "Storytime" and "I want My Tears Back" which includes vocals by Floor and Marco together and features Troy on pipes and adding a third part to the harmony on backing vocals. "I want My Tears Back" has a great duet between Troy on pipes and Empu on guitar. Also, a bit of fun trivia on this song: at about :45 you see Empu talking to Troy - he's telling him a prank he's planning to pull on Floor when he passes behind her later in the song and turns off her in-ear monitor receiver (in the small of her back) - at about the @ minute mark you see her reaching behind her back to turn it back on and then at about @ as Empu goes behind her again you see her turn around and stare him down to make sure he doesn't do it again, laughing the whole time. This band's on-stage chemistry is amazing - they just seem to have so much fun when they are performing. I guess when you are that good it's just natural that it's a lot of fun being in front of 82,000 people and just sending the energy back and forth with the fans.
She's not just a goddess, she's a VALKYRIE GODDESS.

This is probably the top one show I wish I was there for and even including the flawless vocals and instrumentation, I think the best thing about the entire Wacken show is how happy everyone in the band looks (especially Tuomas). When you know the story and how chaotic this tour was, with the show in Denver, Anettes dismissal, Floors literal 48 hour preparations before coming on as a (then temporary) replacement singer and everything else. The smiles when he glance at Floor, he knows the band will survive this and have emerged better than ever.
I've been watching reactions to this song for a couple of years now. I've seen dozens of reactions...and you're the FIRST I've heard to catch Empu giving the "Go around again" hand motion to Jukka. Well done, good eye.

I'll put it this way:
During the Wacken 2013 show, Floor's voice showed no signs of fatigue or cracking until the last note in the last song.
That's how good Floor Jansen is.
Storytime would be a good next choice. Or Everdream, maybe Song of Myself, oh just listen to the whole wacken concert :)

Can we appreciate the drummer for a minute, homies?? People tend to overlook the guy. He's a human metronome and his consistency is fantastic. Shifts from a really soft touch, to smashing those fills in the foreground. Think about the seemless tempo changes. This stuff can be really tricky. Just as difficult as a bunch of crazy blast beats and kick paterns.

Nightwish isn't "exactly" my cup of tea but the talent us undeniable and Floor is OBVIOUSLY a master at her craft. For me, this is THE definitive performance of this track. I almost "never" say this, but this version is FAR superior to the studio version.
They say you haven't heard the real version of a NW song until you've heard the live version. I wasn't a fan until a couple years ago, but they might be one of the best live bands out there.
The reason why the studio version is what it is, is because it was recorded with Tarja Tarunen, Nightwish's first singer.

Oh yes, Marko the singer that can stand in front of the Nightwish army and make them forget Floor for a few minutes. Not many can do that.
In fact, he is often spoken of in terms of being Floor's equal. Just consider that for moment.
One song a week will keep you going a couple of years and I'll be there.

Floor was the bait that drew me to my fate, Tuomas's compositions were the hook that sealed my fate and Marco was holding the rod that reeled me in!
When this was recorded Floor had been the replacement singer of Nightwish for about 10 months. She took over after Anette got fired in the middle of a world tour. Floor was flown over to the US from the Netherlands and had 48 hours to learn the set list. Rehearsals was the shows mostly.

I had a bit of a head start on that 'metal' journey as it took off somewhere in early 1972 when I heard the presentation of a new album on the radio and for the first time I knew what kind of music I really liked. I later found out the album was "Machine Head" by Deep Purple. I was eleven and rock had never sounded that hard. Nightwish is one of the few standout bands from the last couple of decennia. At least, one of the few 'new' bands I really like. Thanks for sharing. There's hope for Tia.
This is a great conbination. My favorite band and one of my favorite reactors Tia. I guess I just have to wait a week for your next Nightwish reaction. (There is a lot of good music to react to, not only Nightwish.)

Another great reaction, and you are right, each long is a voyage into a land of magic and imagination. I really enjoy your lightheartedness, to a point that your smile is making me smile, and I don't even realize it. That's rare, I'm by nature more dark and brooding. As for songs, you've already done Romanticide, another great one would be "Phantom of the Opera" (with Tarja), Marco sings Erik's part, and it's a song that stands out for me, and the duet really works. I certainly look forward to more!

@@j.f.fisher5318 Yes it's fantastic, but so is BA 2018. Floor was ill, and had problems with her voice and she had to ease some notes mid song GLS. As if she was saving her voice for the famous final note, and was able to nail it.
Emppu congratulated her right away with a fistbump, and I've never seen Floor happier. I think you can read Emppu's lips: "Madam!" And then Floor starts pawing the strings of Emppu's guitar, Emppu covering his face with his hand.
If you pick *The Phantom of the Opera* live from End of an Era tour, you can have Marko and Tarja (NW first vocalist) in one take.
But, of course, I can assure you you do not want to skip *The Islander* live at Tampere and *While Your Lips Are Still Red* live at Wembley, as already suggestd by many.
The first is actually Marko's song, the Tampere Live performance is almost an acoustic version of it, performed by Marko alone. You do not want to miss it.

"The Poet and the Pendulum" would be a great follow up to this one. Truly an epic ride. It will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Marco sings in it and it's amazing!

a lot of pop singers actually are talented, they just chose their genres to have it easy while generating more money. They're just working smart, while artists like Nightwish choose to showcase their talent to the world.

imho this is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" live in the 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" live in the 2015 concert in tampere - finland.

Just a tip for future videos: don't have a fan blowing straight into your mic, sounds real bad...Have the mic closer and turn down the gain (and only use cardioid polar pattern), so it won't pick up noises from the room...but cats make up for it

Yeah, Nightwish will twist the space time continuum. Their 24 minute epic, Greatest Show on Earth, does not feel like it's inching close to a half hour long.
You honestly can't go wrong with Nightwish. Do the live versions and be blown away. Good live Marco songs include The Islander live from Tampere, While Your Lips Are Still Red live at Wembley, or Endlessness from their new album HUMAN :||: NATURE (official lyric video, no live version yet, stupid pandemic 😡)
GLS was at number 13 on a set list of 15 songs at this concert. So not just a nice song to start with, but almost the last one after more than an hour of playing.
