Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 вер 2019
- Many people purchase products (like wet and forget) to clean mold and mildew off of brick surfaces when the already have something in their pantry which works just as good. Vinegar. Just spray it on and walk away. No scrubbing. Wait a couple days and the green stuff will disappear.

This is the perfect 'how to' vid I've been looking for. Short, sweet and straight to the point. Thanks!!
Beautiful! You hit it out of the park. It took another guy 20 minutes to say what you said in a few. I will use this method. Thanks very much.
So true. He did an excellent job.
Here in the Netherlands we have special cleaning vinegar, 5 liter containers, costs 3 times nothing, only care not to touch your plants. Take a day without rain, spay it all over the stones, wood, garden furnitures aso. You can see the next day exactly where you stopped. Use it for years, very popular over here, cheap effective and easy to do even for a 75 year old.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is it a special strength?
@@mariarami it probably is. I buy the 45% off of Amazon, but it’s expensive. I use that on my weeds.
Short and precise. I was looking for such least expensive options, thanks for the vinegar idea.
Moss and mold come back after using bleach because both moss and mold prefer a slightly alkali environment , where as Vinegar is acidic and lowers the PH of the brick and siding surfaces and discourages future growth. You can even get better longer lasting results by using a lower PH vinegar or more acidic treatment.
Thank you for your info!!! Good to know!
VINEGAR! YAY! Bleach made my mold increase. Washed with TSP - now for the vinegar.
Never knew about vinegar use in killing mold. Best and most useful video I've come across today!
Great tip! Our walkout basement area is getting a coating of this to clear up the junk growing in it. Thanks!
My mom heard about this tip a few weeks ago. She wants to try it on her patio. Will give it a try today. 👍🏾🇬🇧
Great sense of humor!
Thanks for the info.
Will use the vinegar....

Thankyou, I like your idea better than anything else I've watched. Your a Life Saver, since I do everything myself, my husband is handicap.
I'm glad I can help. I hope it works for you. Tom
Your video is so helpful! I had some green mold growing at the base of a door jamb. I thought I’ll take a cotton swab and apply the vinegar directly on the mold. It went away it two seconds! Thank you so much! It’s a good thing to have vinegar around just in case.
Vinegar,used the same way ($5 spray bottle - 2 litres)kills weeds between pavers.Within 24 hours.Great product and cheap.
Thank you! I lived my 1st 60+ years in California where I never encountered this.
Now that I’m living in central Alabama I’ve noticed it. Didn’t know what to do. Thank you so much for this easy & cost effective method!!
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the tip, it’s time to give it a shot.
CDC site gives information that says vinegar kills mold. I read it several years ago, but, I do remember there is a water to vinegar ratio.
10 out of 10, i love simple nontoxic no bs natural remedies. I love your clear concise no bs presentaion merci beaucoup :-)
Thanks this will solve my algae problems on metal surfaces outside. Be well.
Nice video and demonstration!! I was trying the salt method (adding 3 tbs of salt to boiled 2 litre of water) but I was looking for a simpler method where I don't need to spend so much gas to boil the water. And this should work! Would definitely try it out! Thank youu!
I am so incredibly thankful for this video!!
We have a balcony on the second floor, that has wood flooring, which was covered in green stuff!
Because we have people underneath us we can't use harsh chemicals or a lot of water. But after applying vinegar 2 times with a few days apart, it was gone!
Now we can enjoy our balcony again, thank you!!
Glad to hear that. I'm not surprised. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you for the great video, will try this out, as I have a fair share of the green monster creeping around my house.
I'm going to try this again. I will take before-after photos this time.
Thanks very much. It works a treat on wooden fencing. I sprayed it on as you suggested and 3 days later all the green had turned to silver. I gave it a wash down and the fence has now been repainted. I’m now going to use the vinegar on all the algae around the garden. 😃
Fantastic! The stuff is magic and cheap.
Oh your experiment enlighten me I too want to clean the fence same way. Thanks…is it necessary to dilute the vinegar. ?
@@rameshsastry6779 No, you use it full strength in a spray bottle. It works great. Good luck.
@@AlleyPicked I'm told by professionals that vinegar can damage brick when it soaks in. They said it can erode the brick or concrete because I wanted to use this on mildew on the outside brick of my house.
Great quick vid. I often pre treat concrete surfaces, including brick, with vinegar before cleaning. Not only does it work on organics as in your video, it dissolves the grout film from tile and any other light cement based contamination on surfaces. Pickling vinegar (including specific cleaning vinegar) is more acidic and actually better than regular food grade vinegar. Next, CLR works wonders but is much stronger. After that, muriatic acid, but it’s extremely corrosive, dangerous if not handled properly, and required dilution.
U
Muriatic Acid is NO JOKE ...
My boss used it on a floor at work and PAINT WAS GONE
Forgive my lack of know so whats CLR
@@Allis1isAll CALCIUM LIME RUST..
It removes those products, and simply enough that's what it is called. It's not expensive, less than ten bucks for 2 bottles
@@Allis1isAll Calcium, Lime, Rust remover. One product is specifically called CLR, while there are other variant names for the exact same product but they all indicate the same on their labelling.
Have to laugh at 2:21 when he says bleach is dangerous to animals and immediately a dog in background barks in agreement.

Thank you for this info. I'm going to try it tomorrow. You got yourself a new subbed.
Thanks for the tip. I will try vinegar on some of the unistone, blocks on the driveway. Great video, you have a natural talent for sales.
Thanks! I wish the vinegar companies would give me a cut :-)
Thanks for the brevity!
Vinegar works!!! I also used some washing detergent that has baking soda in it one time on vinyl siding. It worked great.
Thanks for this environmental friendly tip❤
It definitely works, just did my backyard pavers covered in that green stuff, 3 days later it's all gone, did two sprays of 4% white vinegar.. so many uses for white vinegar..
Yes cleans windows toilets scum on showerglass great for that better than all those nasty chemicals
what's white vinegar? Is it distilled vinegar
@@joy1ess malt vinegar is dark colour can be used to kill weeds white vinegar multi uses windows toilets drains it is anti bacterial. Along with lemon lime juice so ive been informed good luck
Perfect! I will try this weekend and will post my results! We got so much rain that green thing is all over my entry way. I cannot stand it. Thanks for the tip!
OK, you forgot to post your results
@@dcwatashi Thanks for the reminder! It actually worked. But then, more rain and rain i have to do it again. thx
@@IsAllAboutHealth I am thinking about trying it on my red rock out front. I have little patches of moss growing, which is quite ugly.
Brilliant! Thank you so much.
Thank you for your video using the vinegar, I am going to try that on my patio umbrella, it's turned from red to yucky greenish red , having high hopes after watching your video 👍
I love your logo!
Excellent service saves money and hassle excellent
Thank you very much!
Thank you so much.
Good advice. Thanks 🍀🍀😊
hELPS A LOT. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this!! A cheap natural effective remedy 😊
I tested vinegar on my orange mold covered walls and i was just surprised at the results. Did not expect it to be super effective at all. Amazing.
Good to hear!
Thank you for this. I have mold and mildew on my deck in an area.
Did you try this? I just sprayed straight vinegar on some mold on my deck and am hoping I’ll see the same magic in a few days!!
Straight to the point.. 👍
One of the beauties of Wet it and forget it is that It continues to keep the mold away for up to a year. For small spaces like your rock bed that might not be important, but outwhere we live in Texas Fighting the mold on Barnes and outbuildings And even the sides of houses, it's really nice just to be able to spray it on and not have to worry about it for an extended period of time.
Vinegar works for extended periods of time as well it seems. It would be interesting to do a long term comparison test. Thanks.
@@AlleyPicked Vinegar is acidic and can corrode bricks over time. Vinegar can be a useful cleaning agent, but you should use it cautiously to avoid damaging your brick walls and surfaces.
AWESOME video. Thank you.
Oh boy! I a, always looking for Earth friendly cleaners. Thanks so very much!!
Hi, I also use this trick on cedar deck rails and spindles. Wipe each spindle down with white vinegar, moss will not grow back up to 3 years!
Can’t wait to try the wetandforgetaboutit technique 🇮🇹
Question: If you spray 30% vinegar on your patio without diluting it with water, is that more effective?
2:43 I wasn't going to say anything, but couldn't resist. Lol.
I will definitely give the vinegar a try on my from steps. Thank you for the great tip.
Thanks for sharing this!
Also discourages cats from using your garden as a loo.
Yes, the vinegar does work, but it doesn't last very long. Unlike wet and forget, which dilutes to 5-1 (diluting vinegar doesn't work), which has a lasting impact and removes black algae, which vinegar doesn't in my experience. Taking the dilution into consideration, there is very little difference in price either. So having tried both methods, I'll stick to the wet and forget.
Deffinitely going to try this, my out side steps are a mess
Thank you for this video !
Going to try it will let you know how we go..cheers!
Thank you 😊
Thanks for this informative video
Awesome video. Quick easy fix. The wall at the end of video on the top layer under bush doesn’t look all the way cleaned though. Would have been nice to see a comparison with other mentioned brands. Would one treatment clean them first try or are they also repeat treatment solutions? Also the vinegar is a mild acid so it’s slightly etching the paver/ cement it’s sprayed on each treatment. Would you think it’s mild enough not to cause premature aging of pavers/cement vs other methods?thanks
Awesome! Thanks. You saved me a butt load of money on my wooden deck.
You can send me half of what you saved :-)
Did it work for you? Back is killing me from scrubbing!
Thanks so very much.
wow!!! I'm so glad I saw this. I was thinking of buying the 'other products'!! You Are A Blessing!! :D Count me as a new subscriber!!
Also it 's better for the environment to use the vinegar! Fantastic!
Thanks will try this!
LOL! The trash can hand stand👏 Brava
Thank You
Great advice.
Nice. How about for use on patio umbrella and plastic lawn chairs?
Thanks. Being extremely reactive to mold and bleach, this is a safe alternative.
I love it! I’m going to do it right now!!!
Thank you for this brilliant.
Gotta try this on my inside wall behind my basement sink. where the outside tap connection is . :0 thank you for your great video. :)
What type a vinegar distilled ?
@@jameslehman717 A friend found water leaking, and tightened the tap nut now no water , just clean up :)
Thanks so much 💓
That's my project to do
Lol, Italian version love it thanks for the tip.
Great to the point video. Thanks. I'm going to try this.

Thanks for this info👍
Thank you I will try this.
Wonder if that would work in restroom walls or rust stains on counters.
I like this video. Many thanks.
Genius :) it is organic non toxic :) amazing :) you rock :)XOXO
Great video!
Thanks!
Green moss is beautiful!
Great tip thank you..
Wow! Thank you. I just bought that mold armor (I think it was $9.99) to try on my patio. Now I'm going to do mold armor on one section & vinegar on the other section and see which works better and which lasts longer.
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
Verdict?
@@woodstream6137 simple bleach is so much better.
Thanks for the update
@@teresamier9370 i keep reading that bleach isn't good on porous materials, though.
Great tip!! I will definitely try it on my retaining wall. Do you think i can apply on stucco? I have green algae staining on my window ledge.
I think you can. Might test it in a small spot first.
I do have this problem I will be using vinegar thanks very much
Cleaning vinegar is more acidic and will do a better job than regular vinegar.
I have an indoor garden plant nursery and algae is growing on my back wall on the paint that's always damp. I need it to be humid in the room so I can't stop the damp. Will vinegar sprayed on it, stop algae growing? Will the vinegar dissolve the paint though? Many thanks
Would this work on yard pavers...without killing the grass around the pavers?
Wont vinegar kill the plants in the soil ?
Love your videos! I wait all week for them. Do you think the vinegar would work on removing mildew from a wood deck?
Thank you for the nice comments. I think the vinegar will work on the wood deck also. Just to be careful, you might want to test it on a small spot. You can even dilute the vinegar somewhat. Thanks for watching! Tom
Christopher Umberger . T.S.P. on wood deck. Simple an d cheap.
Well, this seems to work great on those concrete patio blocks and it immediately made me wonder if the same process will work on those nasty stains I see on vinyl siding? I can't say, nor test it, because I no longer own one of those grungy-looking houses. My particular problem is with the fabric ceiling of my motor home. Not something you can unzip and toss into the wash machine, but I'm wondering if this "wet and forget" method with (white) vinegar might work. My stains range from minor to almost coal black, so I'll test a small area first, but it'll be interesting to learn the results. Thanks for the simplicity of your method. Don't tell anyone, or the price of vinegar will sky-rocket! (Shhhhh!)
It does work! I did a video on that as well. ua-cam.com/video/BwN-Un0xf_E/v-deo.html
Will it work on indoor / outdoor carpeting like on a putt putt course ( moss ) ?
super solution. thanks
Thank you .
Very useful
Thank you something I be definitely be doing to my bridge that has a lot Allgie on it
