  • Crapemyrtle have long been a popular flowering shrub in the south, and it's time that these beautiful flowering shrubs made a splash in the Northern market! The hybridizing team at Walters Gardens has worked hard toward selections that perform well in our West Michigan climate. All of the members of this collection bloom on new wood, so you can expect a great flowering performance year after year.
Note to southern growers: all measurements are based on plant performance in Michigan. In warmer zones without winter die back, mature height will be taller.

Thanks for another great video comparing the different varieties with regards to color and growth habit. Can't wait to include one of these in my garden.

I have the " like a latte" that's putting on flower show like none other .. In my Sacramento 9b, i do expect them to grow a bit taller.. I look forward to trying the other colors you have, especially the java lava... Can't seem to find them in our green acres nursery or big box store .. my yard is all ☀️, the intense one and your perennials are putting on a show like no other... Thankyou

I have some from another company and they don’t get nearly as big as these in the perennial form. Time to switch them out for these!

What are their sizes if grown in the south like zone 8a NC? And if you cut the spent blooms will it flush a second flowering? They are such beautiful colors!

Gorgeous! To be greedy, would be great if they could develop a more hardy version.

I think just giving them a good layer of winter protection would allow them to be grown in colder zones. When I was a kid, must have been about 12 years old, I grew some crepe myrtle from seed and come late autumn had buried the pots deeply not too far from the cement foundation of the house, come spring they had made it through the winter, now I'm talking zone 3 Canada!

@@alyvincent5984 Have you considered container growing them, if you have a place to overwinter them that is? I could place in my cold storage room where I keep the garden root veggies.

@@TRguy64 Yes, containers would be another option, thanks
