    Hello Heidi. I can’t wait to see the Little Quick hydrangeas reach full size. I planted a 1 gal. In my garden last Summer so it’s still quite small. I’m planning on moving it next Spring to a much larger spot so it can have plenty room to grow.

    Loved this video! I'm in Georgia zone 8a. I have Little Limes, Little Lime Punches and a Limelight Prime in my yard. I will be adding another one soon to another area -- probably another Little Lime Punch. I just love the compact growth habit. What type of fertilizer are you using and how often are you fertilizing? They are all so beautiful!

      @@aguilar4510 Three of my Little Limes are in full sun (10a-430P). Another one in my backyard doesn't get sun until around 11am then is in full sun until the sun goes down. The Little Lime Punches are in a area that gets a combination of full/part sun/filtered sun throughout the day. The Limelight Prime is in full sun from 10a until around 5pm. I make sure I give them plenty of water and they seem to be handling it well.

    Hi Heidi! 👋 I garden in zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast. Very hot and humid 🥵 and pretty much no shade since neighbors cut down their huge Oak. We have a big leaf that suckered from the neighbors yard to ours. It just takes over suckering with 1 bloom per stalk. 😕 After hurricane 🌀 Beryl hit we cut them all down, and there are so many suckers coming up, and we dont want that. If I were to get a hydrangea it would have to forever be in a pot. Would the Firelight Tid Bit be good for our heat and humidity? Any suggestions? Thank you for sharing this great and informative video with us.

  • @Klongwell
    @Klongwell 3 місяці тому +1

    For the bobo hydrangeas you mentioned regular fertilization. Can you please elaborate on that? Do you fertilize with liquid bloom booster type every week, or do you do once a month slow release, or something else? They are just gorgeous! Thanks!

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  3 місяці тому +2

      In this bed only, they get water from the greenhouse that has a diluted fertilizer in it with every watering. We recommend for 'normal' applications to fertilize in the spring. The petunias and other annuals in this bed need fertilizer more often.

    Hi Heidi, I always learn so much from your videos! There is always so much inspirational beauty, too! How often do you fertilize your hydrangeas? Also, I live in Texas where the hydrangeas turn brown before they turn pink, as you mentioned. Should I deadhead in this particular case or do they ever turn pink (after browning)? Do the blooms up north turn pink before they brown? Thank you, Heidi!

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  3 місяці тому +2

      Thank you for asking. In the north they go from white to pink and then brown. They wont turn pink after they brown. You can leave the brown blooms on for interest or you can trim them off.

    Giving me everything I want right now, so pretty! I’d love to see a video with each one in their peak color, IDK if it would feel choppy though since they won’t happen at the same time. Do you find Limelight Prime’s blooms significantly smaller than Limelight’s? Mine look about a 1/3 the size or like Nerf footballs vs full size ones that Limelight gets. Both are on irrigation and get the same amount of fertilizer.

    • @gardencrossings

    This was a Great video. I have a narrow planting area between a small lawn and a very tall yew hedge. The planting area is part shade, and to lighten and show up the area and offset looking at a green ‘wall’, I was thinking of planting 3 white hydrangeas, a few feet apart. I was thinking something in the 3’ height would be best, maybe a little taller. Because this area is part shade, and would compete with roots of the yew and lawn, would puffer fish stay on the lower height level of 3 to 3 1/2 feet? Maybe 4’? What do you think? I have macrophylla planted there now, and they droop terribly onto the lawn, look messy, and this is the first time in a number of years they have bloomed. (It was a great hydrangea year in Massachusetts this year!)
    Originally I was thinking of the bobo, but after seeing this video I am interested in the puffer fish because it stays white, and later doesn’t go to lime or pink. I lt would go in the rear of the small and narrow back yard. Thank you!v
    I am on the coast of Massachusetts, now 7a.
    Also, I wanted to plant something in a 2 or 3 gallon size. Would you be getting that size in stock?

    • @gardencrossings

    • @gardencrossings

      In the island they get a diluted dose of water soluble fertilizer everytime the drippers drip. The drippers are hooked to the greenhouse water line which has fertilizer in it. The fertilizer is more for the annuals but the hydrangeas get it as well.
