    Hey great videos man. I’m just trying to break into the industry and was wondering don’t you have to measure the windows and if so, how do you do that? Tape measure? Thanks in advance.

      Hey brother! I completely forgot during that demonstration and am going to do another video that shows the details. I personally estimate for carriers, attorneys, and PA’s, so I get mixed up in how detailed I am at times. Typically attorneys (who I write for the most) don’t care about details and want the most SF possible. BUT, I use the DISTO for the windows as well. You can actually draw the window, open the properties tab, go into the height measurement drop down, select it, then use your DISTO and it’ll drop the measurement into the box. You do this for both the height and width and you are good to go.
      Once you do a couple hundred of these, you’ll start to eye sizes of windows, doors, etc. also. All depends on who I am writing for and what their requirements are determines how my process goes.

      any suggestions on a tablet that is NOT an iPad? The last Apple product I had was an old clicky wheel iPod lol

    • @parrotkey
      @parrotkey  9 місяців тому

      We don't have any direct suggestions as we have not had the chance to mess around with any yet, the recommendation we can give you is to make that is has a .5 zoom so you are able to get the wide angle view. That its capable of running Xact Mobile and if you want it, cell service to be able to look up line items on site. I believe on the Xactimate website they list out the compatible tablets. @@polie67

      @@polie67 i unfortunately do not have a recommendation other than the iPad. I must say, they have come a long way and are super simple. My guess would be any android tablet will work as well as long as you have the .5 camera on there. That is one feature, in my opinion, is a must.

    Are you taking photos in xm8 or just with your camera?

    • @parrotkey
      @parrotkey  Рік тому +1

      With the camera. Unfortunately the Bluetooth clicker does not work when you try to use it within the xactimate mobile application. It really is a bummer. I have requested a change and they said the more requests they get, the higher it’ll ride on the priority list. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time then we will be blazing fast!

    what pitch gauge app did you get

    • @parrotkey
      @parrotkey  9 місяців тому

      Sorry for the delay. I missed this one. Search “Pitch Gauge” in the App Store and pick the one that says pitch gauge with an orange border. When you want to do a roof, scroll down to the camera icon in the pitch app and it’ll enact your tablet or phone as a level and take a photo and save it to your tablet so it’s in line with your photo report when you got to upload.

    Why download the roof sketch the night before if you haven't even seen the roof yet and what it looks like?

    • @parrotkey

      Hey there, my friend!
      For the line of work I do (Adjusting), I go into the inspection knowing what is damaged. A lot of adjusters do so we order them prior to the inspection so we can get the file pushed out fast. If it is a simple roof, I use RoofR to sketch it out myself the night prior. Parrot Key also does inspections and writes estimates for Attorneys and PA's, so we go into those jobs most of the time knowing that the roof is damaged.
      I definitely see how it wouldn't be for everyone and could depend on the line of work you are in.
      I appreciate you commenting and we will be releasing more videos by the end of March so stay tuned, my friend!
