    Great video to help newbies. It’s hard to reach new fisher people because fishing has gone beyond High Tech. I ha
    D someone the other day drop by the house, I was in the garage piddling with boat. His 1st word was WOW as he walked into the garage looking at the boat and my kayak both sitting on trailers. He said why in the hell do you need TV’s on your boat. I explained the
    Monitors were fish finders. He said are you that bad at fishing that you need to see the fish under you before you can catch them? That made me realize how far we’ve advanced and a far many are behind and have no clue to where fishing has gone since the stick, line, bobber, hook and worm sitting on the creekside with your best buddy visualizing a monster catfish sucking down your worm and you carrying that big catfish down the street on your stronger for all to see and talk about that night at the dinner table. I still remember those dreams and I hope every kid on earth has that same opportunity I had. It’s hard to slow down and look back. Just don’t forget. Those times are yours forever!

    Great job! J. Wheeler. Just went last week. Cloudy, 50's temp, East wind. KVD 1.5 sexy shad square, 1/2 oz Black and Chrome Rattle Trap and Chartreuse Chatterbait. Caught two on each bass lure. 3 different ponds. Nothing on topwater. Didnt try a Spinnerbait. Will down size and try a shad colored square bill crank, spinnerbait and a Green Pumpkin Senko Texas rigged. On Saturday it will be in the high 50 's. I have fished every month this year. It's been a very productive fishing year. Even during Covid 19. See ya! On the Lakes. Jacob Wheeler! Shawn

    Good stuff! Thank you! *Friendly camera help; make sure to manual focus when you have a contrasting situation (sunny outside, dark garage) to stay in focus. Some cameras autofocus struggle in those situations

      When I was doing camera work for the outdoor channel and men's network on satellite, I was taught to set your focus which would mean if you know you have a set focal point at x distance you focus that distance to be perfectly in focus and you could rack clean everytime or push into that set distance and it would be in focus without any adjustments everytime. That's why it's so hard to do duck hunting show's because the camera guy can't ever preset the focus ahead of time so they have to push out while maintaining focus on a moving target. It's very hard to do with a broadcast camera all the while keeping audio Db set at a reasonable level for four different voices of guys who may have completely different sounding voices in the blind. But guys who can do that make 750 per day not 150 a day like wheeler is probably paying.

    • @funfishingguy5469
      @funfishingguy5469 4 роки тому

      @@rowdybroomstick1216 Yep. he probably just has it set on autofocus (which is fine 90% of the time) but I agree, if your stationary with a set focal distance, you shouldn't need autofocus which will hunt in certain situations. A little tweak, and It would help his over all production value but I still love his content. Super informational and good vibes.

    Today in Illinois, water temps between 48-50. Threw the 1.5 (normally throwing 2.5) and couldn't keep them off. They were holding super close to the banks around points, like inches off. After I figured that out, I found a pattern and really started pulling in numbers.

    To give another option for throwing those smaller square bills don’t be afraid to throw them on a medium or medium heavy spinning rod. I’m in Iowa and the fish have keyed in on the small gills and I cashed a check throwing a bluegill color 1.0 on a spinning reel during a tough bite. They cast those small cranks really well and load up super nice so the fish stay pinned. I throw it with 10lb flouro. Great spot on info as always in the video!!

It is really challenging right now all over the country; water levels fluctuating, extreme temperature range day-to-day, highly pressured water bodies, and bait-focused targets that can afford to be selective about what they will eat, or, even IF they will tolerate an intrusion of their space.

      Get out on the yak with nothing but topwater gear& force your 1st 🤣

      I’m not a pro fisherman, but I’m a 32 year old man who’s seen a lot of lost dreams. Watch LakeForkGuy’s videos on how he got where he is today. He fished college, pro tour, and now he’s a UA-camr and business owner.
      If you go to college, get an education you can use. Agriculture business, marine biology, business management, photography or journalism, media type degree, or something. Social media management will be crucial for future sports professionals including anglers.
      But always have a backup plan. The fish will always be in the water. Tournaments are very expensive, and so are house notes, car notes, insurance, so on. Adding in a $100,000 bass boat, insurance, and fuel all cost money.
