Well that is completely utterly helpful lol. I assumed the handles split but couldn’t see how. I also realized they didn’t sent the spring I needed. So off to order that now. Found this saw on the road and it ran. Couldn’t find the owner so 8 yrs later I’m going to fix it and use it lol. Thanks!.. well done sir!
The plastic piece that fits on the end of the rod that rubs on the trigger fell off and jammed the works on my 357xp. Had me going for a bit until I found this video. Thank you sir.
This was great. The plastic piece that is attached to the linkage fell down inside the throttle assembly and locked it up so I was able to take apart and repair. I was convinced much more disassembly was required to access them.. Thanks
Thank you! Just bought a jonsered 2152 that has similar mechanisim and was so dissapointed because throttle kept getting stuck every now and then. Local repairshop said they had to replace whole tank assembly since you couldnt replace just throttle. Insted of being too exlpensive to fix it's now a very doable diy! Again, huge thank you!
Great step by step howto video! Saved me from making mistakes like breaking existing good parts by trying to remove them the wrong way, and I spent a lot less time compared to trial and error. I had to order a new spring because when the trigger 'broke' or whatever, the trigger and spring fell off and my searches through the leaves and other debris of the forest floor where I'd been working were fruitless. The new spring refused to lock into place, so I had to bend the short-end tip a bit more to get it to firmly lock into the notch on the trigger. Also the pin that holds the trigger in place was gone (hence the trigger falling off somewhere in the East Texas woodlands), so I had to find a machine screw of the right diameter to use in that pin hole after installing the new trigger. Aside from those small adjustments, following your narration and illustrations let me finish the job in the 8 minutes it took to go start to finish of your video (not counting the 2 weeks it took the parts to arrive). Thanks a lot for sharing your expertise!
Thank you so very much I bought a second hand 345 and noticed roll pin was missing and trigger was loose Couldn’t get hole to line up for pin Didn’t realise I had to pop trigger up with screw driver to get it seated Thanks
I have an older Husqvarna 61 saw, which is still working well. Of late the throttle jams at full throttle. If I move the locking lever very slightly throttle works okay for a bit as long as I keep my thumb lightly on the throttle lock part. It has been bad of late so its something in the trigger, or the spring is out of place? I hope that I can sort it out. Anyway, great video and calm precise instructions on getting in there at that tricky throttle control system. Thank you.
Gonna go fix a 350 in my garage now, the new throttle trigger just arrived in the mail. I was wondering if the operator presence lever needs to be removed to replace the throttle trigger. I might try and keep mine in at first, and see how it goes. Most likely will just take it out as can see everything more clearly with it out. thank you for posting this
Hi, is it possible there was a 350 model without the trigger pin? There were small orange plastic plugs on each side of where the pin should be. I punched through and no pin came out. Thank you.
I have a question for you in regards to the trigger and safety trigger. I dropped my saw a few feet of the ground and it happened to smack the secondary trigger to where it broke it off. It also broke the mounts also. How do I replace that whole handle mechanism?
Very good video. I dropped my 359 out of a tree onto a brick drive way yesterday. There is no visible damage but the trigger only woks occasionally. By that I mean it can always be pulled but doesn’t always push the wire that attaches to the carburettor.
Sr thank you for that info.my trigger is kind hard when i tip side the saw.what do you think it is.it does not look broken.to me but have't check the inside of it.
Hi! Cool video, thanks!! Pls tell me where that long fuel line from primer bulb connects to. The short one connects to carb and the long one should drain fuel back to the fuel tank but I can't find where to connect it.
Hey buddy, ive just began workin on chainsaws, just repaired 3 old poulan metal case 25DA. I have now started on a husqvarna 55 and a 41. The 41 has a broken trigger. Ive ordered parts trigger and operator presence switch kit spring and roll pin is this about the same repair for a 41?
You might get lucky with an epoxy repair... You could also try to "plastic weld" the cracks up. I've only done a little plastic welding, and it is effective, but it isn't real pretty.
I just found a newer model of this 350 in the trash for a similar reason. The trigger hinge pin was vibrating out and causing the trigger to jam. I put the pin back in and put a drop of super glue on it. I now have a very nice free chainsaw. Just happened like an hour ago lol. Maybe i can sell it back to the guy...
Son religiously checks his oil... LOL! I just had to get him into the habit of checking it. He sold that car, though and has a much newer vehicle now. Thanks for the comment!
My old man must gave me an identical saw because 2 years ago the operator presence lever broke and he couldn't be bothered fixing it. By the way he made it seem, it wasn't worth monkeying with. But after watching this I think he just wanted an excuse to get a new saw
3 years later and your video is still helping us DIYers fix our saws. Great video and explanation of the process. Thanks!
Saved me a small fortune in repair costs by showing me how to replace these parts myself! Thanks so much!!!
Under 10 bucks in parts and under 10 min to fix with this video. Thanks from Maine
Just broke my trigger and thought I would have to remove a lot more to replace it. Your video makes it look so easy.
You can definitely do it yourself. Good luck with the repair!
@@tallfarmboy Done... no problem.

Thanks man. Easy to follow. You made things a lot easier for me to get my saw up and running.
Thanks for the video. Same set up as a Jonsered 2149 turbo. My trigger lasted 30 years. Just installed a new one last week.
The plastic piece that fits on the end of the rod that rubs on the trigger fell off and jammed the works on my 357xp. Had me going for a bit until I found this video. Thank you sir.
Just performed this on my 346XP. Awesome. Because of the season you saved me 3 weeks and probably 100 bucks. Thanks so much.
since I am doing this trigger replacement on my saw and needed information, I have to say this is the best and clearest video....good job my friend.

Glad to help, and I appreciate the comment.
A proper DIY video. Straight and to the point. The operator presence bar broke on mine. Now I can figure on fixing it myself.

Best video on UA-cam I've ever seen. Thanks so much!
brilliant thanks a lot !! broke mine yesterday fixed in 10 minutes after watching your video ....
Thanks, looks just like my 353 that I broke the trigger on this morning. Will be fixing it as soon as the part comes in.
Thanks for the how to. Saved by butt during the lockdown in New Zealand. God bless
Thank you so very much

Awesome video! About to attempt this repair tomorrow. Thank you!!!
Thanks for the help with the trigger spring!! I needed that video.
Thanks for the tip. Video describe perfectly how to replace my trigger on a 350.
Thanks for the tips! I have a Jonsered 2145 and the throttle lock was broken but fixed it with this video, thanks a-lot!
Just what I needed! Thank you!
You did a very beautiful job detailing this repair. many thanks for doing this, Ed from Elmore,Vermont

Thank you for posting this video. It was a video with good sound and picture.
Thanks. Vids like this helps to save money.
Can you show the pieces involved directly with the throttle rod , where it lates against the trigger ?

Great job! U r a good teacher 👍made it look easy
Do you have a video on putting a throttle control cable on a husqvarna 142? If so, maybe is lost, where can I get a nee one?
Very good video. I dropped my 359 out of a tree onto a brick drive way yesterday. There is no visible damage but the trigger only woks occasionally. By that I mean it can always be pulled but doesn’t always push the wire that attaches to the carburettor.
Sorry to hear about your 359... Did you get the trigger assembly all repaired?
@@tallfarmboy Yes thank you. It proved easier then I expected. Husqvarna are tough Machines.
Hi , i am looking for a throttle cable for 460 husqvarna to regulate the r p m's to provent over revving!
Can you show a video on how to assemble a trigger assembly on a Husqvarna 450 Rancher chainsaw?
Where can I find these parts? I haven't had a lot of luck finding them. I have a Jonsored CS2141 chainsaw. I believe Husqvarna parts are comparable.
Freaking awesome!! Thank you!!! Was looking for how to replace the trigger lock
Excellent video, big help!
So how do you replace a trigger on a Ryobi RY3716? I can't find anything on how to take it apart without breaking it,
Great vid, helped me a lot! Thanks.
This was the exact video I needed. Thanks!
Thank you for the excellent video.
The trigger lockout is broke on my husky 350. Looks like an easy fix doing it like this.
Sr thank you for that info.my trigger is kind hard when i tip side the saw.what do you think it is.it does not look broken.to me but have't check the inside of it.
I would imagine that your throttle rod is binding on the carburetor, somehow. Take the top cover and air filter off and take a peek.
Part number would be great. Thank you for the content.
Hi! Cool video, thanks!! Pls tell me where that long fuel line from primer bulb connects to. The short one connects to carb and the long one should drain fuel back to the fuel tank but I can't find where to connect it.
If I remember correctly, that return line goes back to the clutch side of the fuel tank and hooks into a little nipple on there.
Thank You!! By the way I have a broken trigger on my husky 353 too.
thanks brother this vid is what I needed
Thanks Tall! Was helpful
Super helpful video !! Thanks a lot

The 41 has a broken trigger. Ive ordered parts trigger and operator presence switch kit spring and roll pin is this about the same repair for a 41?
Yes, I have never worked on a 41, but, I think nearly all Husqvarna saws have similar throttle linkages and operator presence controls.
@@tallfarmboy awesome, thanks for the information. Im subscribing!
Update, ive repaired both saws and now i have a new bucking (41) and felling (55) saw!
Very helpful, thank you!
You're welcome! Glad it helped you!
my 450E has this problem also, and a few cracks in the handle frame. can you epoxy the cracks in the plastic and get away with it?
You might get lucky with an epoxy repair... You could also try to "plastic weld" the cracks up. I've only done a little plastic welding, and it is effective, but it isn't real pretty.
good job on the video ,thanks
Thank you you just save me a bunch of money buddy God bless
Great video. I just replaced my carb, ran the saw once, and now the trigger broke. 🤦♂️
Thank you, very helpfull !
Thank you so much 😃😃😃
thanx...took me 2 min with the know how video on my 357 xp

Also on the newer ones that pin goes into a blind hole. You cant push it out to replace the trigger you have to split the handle
That's a good piece of information... Do you mean the 460 455 450 Rancher style or a different model?
Ever find out if they checked their oil? :-) Good video!
Son religiously checks his oil... LOL! I just had to get him into the habit of checking it. He sold that car, though and has a much newer vehicle now. Thanks for the comment!

Absolutely nothing wrong with an excuse for a new saw... LOL! Thanks for the comment!
@@tallfarmboy that's very true. He went and bought a 455 so I'd say it was a real good excuse
