- In 2017 the American Association of Woodturners awarded Ron Fleming the Merit Award for his contributions to woodturning. I was honored to create this video for his induction ceremony. Ron was the person who inspired me to start turning and throughout the years has become a great friend and mentor. We are sharing this video so more people can learn of incredible artistry and career.

Great video. Would love to see more tribute videos like this from you. Also, props to you for putting together a seven minute piece that covered enough ground to highlight Fleming's gifts and contributions and send a lot of us to Google to find out more, when I'm sure it would have been far easier to put together a 45 minute documentary. Being both concise and thorough is a gift.
That gave me the chills, thank you for sharing his story with us Tim. My son is getting into woodcraft with me and it makes me so happy. A story like this is inspiring and my son will love to see it as well. thank you for all you do Tim for the craft community, not just turners, but you shine a light on all of us.

Tim... that was truly such a wonderful tribute to Ron, and also a superb narrative of a truly amazing artist who had such an insight and vision to think outside the box!!!... I have many of his articles and it was unheard of what he was producing so many years ago, just like Ellsworth, both of them had such insight of there craft. Thank you for a great video!!!👍
