March 2022 update: Putin forced Prokhorov to sell the NETS in 2019 due to US sanctions and as a loyalty test, according to some sources. Others say that he had grown bored with the ownership and was never in the US, so when a good offer came, he took it. Apparently he spends most of his time in France, though no word on how the current sanctions have hit him.
Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that the Nets were trash and weren't generating much revenue until maybe Kd Kyrie and Harden joined

😂😂
TheFreePantheist I
I mean. I'm Russian, i don't see how that part was funny at all. Its very common in Russian culture to be very humorous and clever with words.
Russian's are not famous for that in the US at all. I live in the US. What you just described is a stereotype. I don't think you should be drawing your view of Russian people in general off of stereotypes.. It just shows how typical American's are when being judgmental like that. Russian's don't fake smile or fake kindness like you're use to in America. In Europe Russian's are very well known for their sense of humor. Also in Russia its very deep in our culture as far as jokes, anecdotes especially and almost all of which are untranslatable to English given how Russian is such a complex language.
We are also known for not smiling for no reason or faking kindness, that is considered EXTREMELY weird in the majority of Europe generally speaking especially in Russia. So i'd consider getting out more or actually getting to know Russian people instead of being so judgmental. Many businessmen and sportsmen have been to Russia and have made vlogs and talk about how they aren't cold or not nice they just don't fake emotions or randomly smile at you out of it being a habit or faking emotions. That they absolutely love it there. Yet when you actually talk to a Russian person they are extremely open up like a book and honest its just the fact of being genuine with them and actually trying to get to know them. Not stupid small talk and lame jokes, we don't enjoy dishonest or disingenuous behavior which most Americans indulge in. Not sitting back assuming they are cold or not having a sense of humor just because you haven't bothered to get to know them. I just hate how you fit the whole American stereotype perfectly. Arrogant, ignorant, yet proud of presenting these ideas that you haven't even bothered thinking through yet but still regardless pounding through proud being wrong.
Side note: A lot of the time if someone isn't laughing at your joke it might just be that it sucks. I hear people at my jobs always making horribly lame ass jokes and i never laugh at them because they plainly suck. Seems like everyone else either fake laughs to go along with it or actually is dumb enough to still be laughing at middle school level jokes. We Russian's are just in the moment and appreciate cooperation and honesty rather than disingenuous human interaction and passive aggressive behavior that i see rampant in this country.
siberus48
Oh please sterotypes are hillarious, Mikhail played the sterotype to a T, everybody judges it's just part of being human. If a joke isn't funny thats one thing but Colbert is genius in this bit

Prokhorov is considered to be out of favour with the Kremlin and would probably have to vacate the country and move his wealth elsewhere. The financial news group RBC which does some of the investigative journalism that is still remains in Russia on things like costs of Private Military Companies used by the Kremlin off the books or corruption and mismanagement. For that several months ago Prokhorov was forced to sell the company and editors from state media like TASS were put in charge of moderating the media's stance. The catalyst for the sale was that RBC dared report on the Panama papers and Putin's involvement in that...

Meanwhile Stephen has a networth of like 40 million dollars and is trying to seem like a normal guy in awe of a rich persons lifestyle
Well there is a difference between 40 million and 9 billion. For Mikhail, 40 million is the same as 177k for Stephen, meaning in Mikhail's eyes, Stephen whole Networth isn't even a Ferrari

Now we're at war
Boy oh boy.. watching this in 2022 😭...
He actually seems like a genuinely nice guy
Moni ka Well ,that's why I said "seems", I don't know what he's really like and what his life has been like
Moni ka guarantee you human trafficking is in there somewhere... Hmm, what would Interpol have to say about the money trail I wonder 🤔
most russians are, Lisa.
Moni ka It's not like a person can't be a genuinely nice guy *and* have good connections and a certain amount of toughness when it comes to business. Besides, the guy's huge. Being stoic at that size is probably enough to garner most people's respect and open up a lot of possibilities.
You can't usually make that much money without stealing. Especially in Russia where honest business gets destroyed or taken away.
Stephen Colbert is SOOOOO charming, even this guy is kinda fell in love with him already...
Colbert is the gem he's been looking for
Oswaldo Contreras
lol....
Stephen seems annoying
Oh, but it was so much fun to watch "Stephen Colbert" steamroll his guests. The Laura Ingraham one is one of my alltime faves.
GAY.
Boy this is not aging well.
We need 2022 edition for this ;)
colberts acting like he doesent have 50 million dollars lmao
50M is chump change compared to 9 billion. The way you look at 50M is the way steve colbert looks at 9B. you can't afford a yacht or a private jet with 50M.
Exactly. 50M is huge amount of money but its spendable. Buy a super big house, yacht, few very expansive cars and a jet and its half gone already. 9B you can't spend even if you wanted to lol.
@@zackzackovski9427 and you can't run all those toys with the remaining 25M for more than about 3 years XD this is why poor people lose their lottery winnings. they think they can afford anything after they win so they buy whatever they want and will technically have the credit to do so most likely because of their starting funding.
Neil Chatterjee Probably went and bought a Maybach.
Well it actually is 8950thousand million more then what Colbert has.
He seems nice and lonely. He just wants some real genuine братья.
Number Juan
"Gratiya?" Friendship?
He should have bought Miss Universe franchise then he'd be swimming in women
Right? It's always lonely at the top.
Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
UA-cam certainly has a twisted sense of humor, recommending this to us now....
2022 and this was good information, we learned a lot.
