The selection of paintings by famous Russian artist Bato Dugarzhapov “The Magic of Color and Light” includes 100 works by the artist from different years starting from 1998. The selection is divided into two parts of 50 paintings each (Part I and Part II).
"This fantastic artist hovers between the world of abstraction, realism and impressionism, every brushstroke is carefully considered and deliberately placed in the most concise and efficient manner. His paintings are not confined by any single style or regulation, I think his paintings show total freedom of thought and expression and he executes paint onto the canvas confidently where it has it's most desired effect. This is what makes his paintings so captivating. There are instances in his paintings of naivety and simplicity until suddenly one realises that it is used to draw you into the painting where you are introduced to moments of pure genius and magic leaving you fixed in awe and wonder.
This man is a living master."

Beautiful work and very inspirational. Thank you for sharing Bato Dugarzhapov's work. I am enamored with the late Nineteenth Century Peredvizhniki reflecting both historical and genre painting and impressionist lanscapes (from Konstantine Makovsky to Isaac Levitan). However Dugarzhapov, as a contemporary Twenty-First Century painter, is in a category by itself -- certainly impressionist but also very inspirational (Neo-Impressionsim). His Plein Air work is remarkable and leaves me utterly speechless!

It’s difficult at times to believe these are by the same artist. A cardinal sin for an artist of any medium I’m told by gallery owners looking at my work. 🤷‍♂️
