I'm going with the blitzway. That thing looks awesome. I think it's going to be the best Voltron available.
I just can’t stand those collectors who say you’re “not a real fan” if you don’t buy it- and it’s like: Don’t ever tell another fan or collector what they are. It’s their money, their choice, and there’s no such thing as a price for having the title of “collector.”
You collect what you collect and that’s all there is to it- don’t tell other people what they are or what they should do with their money. That’s not your call.
Some people just don’t get that, and it’s really that simple.

Indeed, Bandai's Voltron is a modern classic; gorgeous design & execution, it still catches my eye when I sit to enjoy my collection. If I was to purchase another Voltron, it would be Bandai again.

I like a lot of the stuff they are doing with the Blitzway and I hope the engineering the QC turn out great for everyone who ordered it. It's beautiful. But, I'm perfectly happy with my SOC. It fits with my display, matches the SOC Vehicle Voltron in scale and style and I really don't have many complaints about it. I think options for these things are great and I'm happy to see another Voltron option out there for people. Thanks for your thoughts and this video!
Absolutely. Hope everyone that get this, gets what they want, but man any QC issues will be a serious, serious problem at this cost. Thanks for the great comment.

I respect your decision. If you're not blown away by it, if you don't think it's better than the Soul of Chogokin, it doesn't make sense to drop all that dough on it.

my thing is if you have the cash for 1 Blitz you need to get 2 the same with Band so you display them in both phases . But I like the original when i was a kid and Band is fine if you just want the as a toy.. Ultimately the Blitz is perdy and it just grows on you like fine wine.. to change it every so often is apart of the hobby like a museum curator lol..

Blitzway nailed it. But I’m very happy with my SOC don’t wanna spend much on another voltron figure it’s not gonna happen. I’ll just save my money for incoming DX SOC’s.
I have 3 voltrons right now: Panosh (LOVE IT!) SOC (LOVE IT!) and lego (LOVE IT!) But, I'm definitely going all in on Blitzway - I've got 2 on order. Maybe I'll sell one and keep one, or maybe I'll display one as a robot and one as lions. I am a big fan of all of the features. It doesn't have to be 100% screen accurate for me, as I wasn't a big watcher as a kid. I did have the ultimate ex voltron, as someone told me it was their grail, so i had to check it out. the size was great, but i really didn't like it at all. This blitzway, I *think* will solve the issue I had for SOC - which was size. Size and quality are what I"m looking for. I hope that Blitzway delivers ... we shall see!
FOMO train alllllll aboard.. 😁 I have one paid off and another paying over time. Need both modes! Worked 24 hrs OT just this weekend so I can get these.. SOC is nice but if going all in BW just looks more the part.. hips alone kill SOC for me. But to each there own!

For me, I love the Blitzway. But I do agree with you concerning the face sculpture. It’s a little narrow and it’s probably because of the light up feature but it’s not a showstopper.
If you are financially conscious about spending that much money on a figure, there’s the MC Muscle Bear KO option. And believe me, other than the stand and the light gimmick, there’s no difference between the two.
I was honestly thinking about getting the Muscle Bear just to check it out. Might do it.
Just follow what make sense to you, man. I don't have a SOC Voltron so I am getting the Blitzway to match with the Voltes V that came out not too long ago (The one with Camp Big Falcon).

I never really liked the SOC enough to pull thr trigger. It always looked too blocky to me. BW is more expensive yes, but I’m really not buying as many toys these days so I’m ok with spending 700 on it.

Nobody's noticing this but the GREEN LION has a very distinctive LOOK from the RED LION aside from the color and that is its BODY TYPE. It should be ROUNDED. These fake covers for its arms and feet made it look wider and square ish. This is a big deal for me and i can't UNSEE it everytime i see this Blitzway version. SOC, still the best version.

Voltron alway was expensive, I purchased the blitzway and I'm satisfied with the purchase. But if you have 4 to five voltrons like this guy you don't have to buy blitzway.

I'm late to the party, but I had to go with Muscle Club, then a Playmates 40th Anniversary from Target, then a Bandai GX-71 SP for my chrome fix, ...and a K.O. Lionbot from Ebay since my original Matchbox Voltron from when I was a kid took serious beating.
I couldn't get that Blitzway though. 😭

@@Ultrazilla Thanks. I'm impressed with the Soul of Chogokin SP version. I didn't have the first GX-71 or really any modern Voltrons until recentky, but I'm really glad I do now.
@@lcdroidman As I said in the video, SOC Voltron is top of the line. Still my favorite overall toy in my collection.
Another reason for me to stick with the SOC Voltron lion is the SOC Voltron vehicles. These two must be together for me.
I was going to pre order the blitzway Voltron but for that price, I can get a SOC Voltron lion and vehicle.

For the price my expectations are set VERY high, if it doesn’t beat SOC by a landslide I can’t see why it would be more than triple the retail price of bandai’s version which in my opinion is the perfect Voltron.
My opinion basically boils down to I don’t see how it’s better than the SOC from the info and pics and for me to spend the money it needs to to do that right off the bat. I’m not going to spend the money to find out, and I don’t need every Voltron ever.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts man. I'm a huge stickler for headsculpts too. Like, I didn't get SHMA Gamera 3 for example because I didn't like the head at all. And I LOVE G3. If it's not worth it for your own reasons, it's not worth getting it period.
Totally agree as well, gotta think about the big picture. Pandemic, job situation, family, financials have to be factored into decision-making. And ppl calling you not a big Voltron fan is complete BS. They don't know you, you know you. That's what matters.
I was the same way in the beginning but I finally decided to go with a place with a payment plan. Plus I'm getting it for $70 off, I waited to long and didn't pre-order when it was $100 off.

For what reasons? The microscopic figures? Blitzway is nice but has problems & is no way as elegant as the SOC!
I definitely agree with you. At that price, if it isn't perfect, then it definitely isn't worth it (in Canada, it's close to $1000 😬). A lot of people seem to be thinking similarly as the figure doesn't seem to be selling out.
I remember seeing my classmate with the Matchbox Lion Voltron back in 1986, and I was like blown away. Got a job after high school and in 1997 bought the re-issue set, and still have it. The new Blitzway steps away from the short/stumpy look. What makes the Bandai effective in looks is the size of the wing and length of the arms, though it still has the stumpy look. Blitzway just need to extend the arms closer to the knee, and slightly make the lion legs slightly longer (we're talking no more than 5 cm for both) and make the wings bigger ... but that's too late in the game. I think the Blitzway is a better buy for fans who only has 1 figure (I'm guessing the 1984 or 1997) figure.

Also i got the Muscle Bear and about a year later the left leg ratchet on black lion broke. But i did fix it

I agree with your reasoning. If anyone out there likes the Blitzway product, that is awesome... you win. I win because I love the SOC version, and don't want the new version at this time.
Agreed with this video 1000% I want to add. That The Blue Lion's head looks funny, on this new one. All the lions on the SOC is sculpted very nicely. The Gx-71 has the mixture of the cartoon and the vintage Voltron toy, from back in the day. If you think about it. This new one, looks like an upgrade of The SOC GX-71 VOLTRON. You can see it had a lot of similarities(Like looks and articulation, to name a few.)as the SOC. Wow! The new comes with a "Screaming Face!" Gee, I wonder where that idea came from?🤔I'm very very happy with my SOC GX-71 VOLTRON. It's beautiful and we'll put together. It's looks good as the lions and as The Mighty robot. SOC GX-71 VOLTRON is still the best. Great video and very informative. Thanks.😊

Just cancelled my order. Retailer was not happy but QC seemed a bit dodgy on the most recent reviews. For the price point I would still be all in but not if he is just gonna end up a floppy mess over time.
SOC is nice but I really like Blitzway Votron and yes, it's a bit pricey, but I'm getting it though...
I had an OG Voltron toy back 27 years ago when I was 7 years old. It was an amazing toy if I think about it now. Unfortunately, it and my large collection of Brave series toys were give to my younger cousins before I left for US when I was 10. I cried my soul out that day. I'm actually leaning very close to preordering the Blitzway version out of nostalgia, despite knowing it's going to become a very expensive paperweight.
I don't have any Voltron figure, and it's cool to see a few coming out as of late so I have the opportunity to get one now, however... Once again I have no room for one so ima pass. You brought up a good point with the led stuff, I think I've only ever turned on the lights for my SCV Biollante twice, once when it was opened and once when I took a photo of it.
Some fail to understand that collectors can choose whatever they want to have in their own collection. I got shit on insta for saying I prefer the OG Ghidorah 2019 rather than the SCV, but it's my opinion, my choice, and you gotta stand by that. And it's nice to hear you doing the same thing. Collect your own way
People want to be validated for their decisions and when you have a different opinion it’s always well you’re not a fan, you’re cheap, high end collecting isn’t for you, etc. Seriously all of those can suck it, and why I chose to make this. I don’t NEED to have have last item from a certain character.

SOC is great and all, but it does have its flaws, like the ultra heavy legs, and the not-so-secure shoulders.
The red lion arm does not really hold the blazing sword well, it gets wobbly and constantly feels like its going to drop. It has a lot of articulation and posability issues, despite being the best Voltron toy thus far.
However, it does seem funny that Blitzway appears to be conveniently avoiding to show a lot of their Voltron's articulation.
If Blitzway does indeed show that it IS the definitive Voltron version, it wins SOC hands down by a landslide, then probably it is worth to splurge that amount of dough for it, especially if you don't have one yet.
But if not, then its better to just get the SOC.

Nope, lots of QC issues reported AND I didn't like it to begin with so no regrets. I haven't thought about it at all tbh. Also, I'm aged pretty well, so I know what I like by now.

Yup! Passing up on the Blitzway would make sense and smart too if you think it's not worth the dollar. Besides, you've got quite a collection already. I have never had any Voltron figures before except for the minipla (my very first Voltron figure) that I find looking cartoon accurate and just had to have it. I have passed up on Voltron figures in the past because I just don't find anything that strikes me. But when I saw Blitzway's promotional photos of their upcoming Voltron figure, I was stunned! I'm thinking I'm looking at the holy grail of all Voltron figures and that my search is over. I find it too much to pass and thought the time is ripe for me to get an ultimate Voltron figure. I can't wait until it arrives.

great vid. I ordered 2 Blitzway Voltrons. one to display as Voltron, one as 5 lions. I always try to get two. Anyway, even though I have the Blitzway is on the way I'll not be selling my GX-71s. I grew up with Popy Golion and GX-71 is the perfect modern interpretation of that. Bandai did a great job. Nothing wrong with not ordering the Blitzway version if it doesn't do it for you. $700 is a lot of money to spend on a action figure. I had to think hard to spend what I did but in the end I want the Blitzway in my collection even though GX-71 totally satisfies me... Anyway, thanks for the vid.

Aesthetically SOC looks better in voltron mode. It is also closer to the toy I had as a kid. The Blitzway Voltron has unique features that l like. Im giving up my 6 inch collecting because I think 6 inch figures are over priced and too many exclusives. The money I save on 6 inch will go towards voltron. But I can see the price putting people off on this one. Everyone has to have a cap or you'll go broke. Can't have everything.
These have not sold out like the DX voltes V did. So maybe you will get a chance at a discount.
That discount would have to be steep. No regrets here though.
I still don't have a Lion Voltron but I have a bead on the SoC version for a little over the original retail price. AT $700 that's two SoC Voltrons. I have noticed that we are going extravagant on pricing with Chogokin toys like Pose+ Metal has increased. I still am waiting for my Baxinger plus Baxinbird figure and that was $499. I think as a collector there is a limit...well at least for me so it was a no form the start
The SOC has just been reissued, be on the lookout. It was just in stock at HLJ yesterday morning and I had a link on my Facebook page.
Yeah Pose+ has taken the ball and run with it with the higher prices and collectors are lapping it up. There’s a prestige and a high some of these guys get off on with the pricing. I didn’t even get into that in the video, because I wanted to stay focused on my reasons because to each their own, but I do have a lot I can say on the state of collecting.
Great video! You brought up some great points. You don't have to justify your buying habits to anyone. Collect what you want, like and love! I'm picking the Blitzway up. It will be my first and probably my only Voltron figure.

That is indeed an INCREDIBLE VOLTRON that you have there friend. But that Blitzway Voltron is EPICALLY AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! …It’ll be awhile before I get it because I am a cheapskate! Sometimes, it takes me awhile to convince myself to get a toy that is OVER $300.00. THAT is my cut-off_ At the end of the day, these are TOYS & I am a grown-ass man.☝🏿😌

Ultimately, I think you can't go wrong with either and I agree with you, it's not THAT better than SOC GX let alone TWICE as better because that's how much the Blitzway is priced
I own the SOC and it's still pretty much the best SOC I own.
Lets be honest it is priced high but let me just say once these sell out you could get over a grand for it if not double because it is without a doubt the baddest Voltron ever made! I don't like scalpers but you could definetley get this and still get your money+ back.This is a piece of art and will be over a grand after release.

I have both now, and I can easily say 5pro one annihilate SOC by every single details. To be fare, SOC's mold was few years now and is not fare to be compared with latest design and technology. I appreciate for SOC in my display for few years and now 5pro one can takeover it.
For the problem is aesthetically it doesn't beat it so that's great you think that and i'm happy you're happy with your purchase. I'm sure engineering is great, but Voltron is not a hard robot to mess up.
I think, SOC still retain the best proportion and design for Voltron. Blitzway Voltron is bigger, has LED eyes and pilot gimmick.
IMO, even Blitzway green lion, look a bit different. SOC has more accurate shape, true to the animation.
If only, BANDAI decide to hide red and green lion feet, SOC gonna aced Blitzway for sure!
Anyway, I am happy for you. This Blitzway release, is a solid one.
I'm the oddball here lol, because when I first watched Voltron as a snot-nosed kid way back in 1984, I was mesmerized by the LIONS, not just the final robot. Having said that, I have the Playmates huge '84 Voltron and a couple of other Voltron things. This $700 Voltron, the arm lions still have the big-ol-head-on-shoulders-look that even the SOC solved, their forelegs taller than the rear, the blue lion's ears are set too forward, Blue lion's eyes are too tall'ish looking. Black Lion, likewise, is my most fave, but his stance looks... off. His head looks weird. Bottom line, as of now the SOC Voltron is still the best version to get. Now, if a company was to make cartoon accurate non-transformable lions (they made plenty of non-transformable Voltrons, why not the lions?), each with their own die-cast key, a tiny to-scale sized pilot to recreate the Voltron ending credits, roar/light effects, themed display stands... Or even a SOC Netflix Legendary Voltron... I better shut up before I give these companies ideas that would REALLY make my pocketbook weep.

Soul of Chogokin is good enough for me. Money doesn't equate to how much you like a series, anybody that's say otherwise has mental problems. Ive been hardcore Macross fan all my life but I'm not going to spend 3k on a sdf 1 statue or dress like captain global

@@Ultrazilla Fair enough. I've already seen some QC issues with this figure and it hasn't even been a week since it started to appear in collectors' hands! Hopefully it'll be a one-off. I don't recall any real issues with the SOC figure and if there were, they seem to have been isolated.

I bought the new one and I had this Bandai for me the new one is better than Bandai is almost 15” all the futures that comes with that is amazing
SoC is ok. Have few of them but I passed this SoC Voltron bcuz I need a 15" figure that goes side by side with my DX Voltes V(5) Both mechas are in my childhood days. So yeah. I know Voltron wayyyy back. Japanese and US. lol

For me.... I prefer more articulation. And blitzway voltron can do the kneeling pose, SOC can't. Because of that I pass SOC Voltron. Looks like it's gonna be blitzway voltron for me because it's obvious that it's way better than SOC. But anyone has opinions
I have the soc Voltron. For now, that's the gold standard for Golions. But for $100 a month, I'm also getting the blitzway Voltron. Just based on the pics, I think it's better than Bandai's but I totally get where you're coming from. We have to be very careful with this hobby. It took me two weeks to think about and make a plan for it before I made the preorder and now, i'm 100% all in.
