A philosophy that experienced players agree with. Take small bites, digest that... and methodically move forward until it's "Giggable!"
Thanks for checking it out!!
excellent stuff, thanks very much
You're very welcome!

I am a pianist but i find that this is a good resource for improvisation many thanks GodBlessing
Thanks for watching! Glad you like it.
Well presented. This is great material. Once you hear these sounds, it will be possible for you to play them. If you can't hear it in your head, then sing it, then you can't play it. I have found this to be absolutely true. Pentatonics will open up new doors to more ideas. Luv your tone, bro.
Thanks for checking out the lesson! I have a follow up pentatonic video coming out soon!
I feel I’m a moderately advanced jazz player but that taught me a lot in a short space of time. Really good video, thanks.
Thanks for watching! I’m happy that helped!

Thanks for watching! Definitely digging my SYOS pieces!!
Very good job. I really like and appreciate your chops. Please, use a metronome when you are teaching these exercises so that we can take better advantage of them. They will help us catching they are essence much better. You are an amazing teacher. Thank you for your work.
Thanks for the feedback, Jean! I appreciate your advice!
Yes. The modeling with a metro or b-track would really help
Anything you can't hear, the brain can't keep up with. Anything you Can hear, the brain makes patterns out of. Any of these patterns are then accessed unconciously later on, instead of having to think or concentrate really hard.
When you say starting on the 3rd or the 7th. You’re referring to the 3rd or 7th of each relative mode within the key?
Yes.That’s correct! I was able to gain familiarity by practicing it that way. Each day I would work on starting on a specific note in the scale.
@@jojopt2 thank you.!
Awesome video. I'm pretty new at this so I'll ask...you said, "pick a shape" and it appears you picked the first 4 notes of the minor pentatonic scale. Do you always use 4 notes? Also, do you do the same type of thing with the major pentatonic scale, blues scale, etc? Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement.
Hi Abby- thanks for checking out the video. I don’t always use 4 notes but I think it helps to start with 4 to get the hang of it. I also like the sound of two pairs of triplets for a 6 note shape. But it took me a little while to get there. I do use the same approach to all scale types.
Have fun shedding!
What’s your set up there with the white mouthpiece…syos🤔
That’s a custom SYOS mouthpiece. I switched to the Nexus Edge mouthpiece since then. Thanks for watching!
Everyone is coming out with a sax learning video… Where’s the pdf ☮️🎵🎶🎷
