@@donkanonjimisao yes!! Those are ways to describe how a player starts and finishes each note. It could include tounging, vibrato or bending notes. Copying how a player does that is the most important part about memorizing solos in my opinion. Check out your favorite players and listen for how they play each note. Then try to copy. Start slow but take your time. It’s a great way to practice.

@jojopt2 thanks for the answer. i thought phrasing had to do with the chosen notes, articulation with the way a note is played and i heard inflection for the first time

@@jojopt2 well, for me its not about being disciplined, at my current playing level it's easier for me to stick to some notes per chord (1-3-5-7) to make phrases. I kind of envy you if you can forget about boundaries and just come out with nice phrases :)

Vandoren V16 Size 6. I tried the 7 as well. It played great but I dig the 6 for a more consistent sound in all ranges of the horn. V12 2 1/2 reeds and Optimum ligature.
