@@kansasclocksandsirens well he actually did leave the siren community and didn’t find it very interesting anymore because the people involved in it are toxic and ignorant so yeah
@@kansasclocksandsirensAside from that, I haven’t had much interest to record anything. I thought about leaving the siren community overall, but decided not to.
I was wondering if you can call the city about the 4008 at fox ridge been removed? Cuz what I know is that 1 the speakers were blowing out on it second it’s leaning and the thin pole is being replaced because the 4008 had a chance of falling due to its age and 3 the digital controller was fried causing the siren to glitch more often that’s all so can you find out some other reasons?
I'm very surprised they still do that. I know they did the silent test with the ESC-2020 controls but I didn't know they still did that with what ever the new controls are. Where is that located?
It wasn’t anything to do with the controls. Oklahoma City Emergency Management entirely replaced their activation software. They used to use a Whelen Commander to set all of their sirens off, now they use CentrAlert software. Along with this software upgrade, they replaced the logic boards in all of the Whelen cabinets to ESC-2030s. I believe they don’t do the double activation anymore, because it’s harder to program into the new software they use. It’s starting to lead into more failures on sirens across the city as well. Also, this Vortex is at 119th Street near I-44.
@@brodiessirenproductions Oh. That is at 119th and I-44? I've recorded that in the past and I am thinking about recording it again but it is very punchy. When the Whelens were in ESC-2020 like it was 560hz in the first place and obviously the double activation. Nowadays they are ALL 560hz with no double windup. Sucks.
@@GabrielCL2T22A Yeah, I’ve passed by this Vortex thousands of times. I wish atleast some of OKC’s sirens were still 435hz. Definitely my favorite Whelen tone for most signals, including alert.
@@brodiessirenproductions It sucks that they changed it. From my house about a quarter mile west from Station 9 in OKC when they were in ESC-2020 the ambiance was the best. Station 9, 104th and May and a bunch of others and the variety of tones. It was cool but now it is kinda samey.
Glad you’re back in the community if you are

At least you got their Silent Test, better luck than we had yesterday in a different city
