BTW based on how Kuma was able to escape. Its very likely Big Mom fought against Saturn.
Since Big Mom has the tendency to awaken Mother Mode when a child below the age of 10 is near, and Kuma was 9 years old at God Valley.
She saved Kuma without realizing it most likely. As i don't see Kid Kuma being able to stand against Saturn.
That makes a LOT of sense to me.
Infact I’m willing to bet, that unless it’s revealed it’s apart of their powers, that the damage she inflicted on Saturn basically forced them to look into Regeneration.

Its not Garling as we see in Oden flashbacks which is 30 yrs ago (god valley incident is 38 yrs ago) in them whitebeard has no scars on his chest but after the fight with roger we see a wound that probably turned into scar simply put garling never gave any scar to whitebeard, garling is at Oden level max

We gotta remember the narrator clearly said in Garlings introduction that he was a champion who distinguished himself at God Valley. The native hunt game was interrupted so they couldn’t mean that. I don’t think Garling was stronger than whitebeard, but there is a chance he can hold him off for a while. But if it turns out true that he is shanks father, then high chance it’s bc he’s a celestial dragon blessed with strong Haki. That’s why even the Gorosei glazed the Figarland name in Red.
whitebeard said when he met shanks that shak's face reminds him of the one who gave him his scars, so chances are that it was garling who made them.

People tend to confuse Newgate from almost 2decades later with this one. This one is just 34years old and part of Rocks crew. The other is Prime Newgate that Sengoku feared and earned the title of World strongest. So in his youth getting scarred is not so big of a deal , but rather a feat for someone that is the strongest asset of the Celestials.
Whitebeard was 36 years old in God valley which is Prime time !!! Shanks became a Yonko at 33 years
