The end is merely a prologue to a new beginning. I genuinely hope you remain a constant bright light in the collecting community for a long time to come, but respect that, should you choose to make your eventual exit from collecting, you'll be doing so on your own terms. You've made an indelible mark on this community and countless of its members, and we salute you. You're a scholar and a gentleman, Terry.
Nah. There are some figures that, as awesome as they are, just being in the room with one for a few minutes is enough. That's the Delorean for me. I had a Tumbler once, a broken one that was destined for the dumpster at Sideshow. I took it home for a bit, then wound up giving it away to a friend. If you can't figure room for it, there's no point in having it. It would be better off with someone else.
Certainly! At the eastern end of the Chaktal Mountains, hidden deep within the Jalal-Abad province of Western Kyrgyzstan, you will find the brilliant blue waters of Lake Sary-Chelek. Few travelers venture into this region of the world, and fewer still are aware of the legendary creature that dwells within that lake. Pashtu Rama is its name, and it is many thousands of years old. Legend has it that Pashtu Rama was spawned by the sacred union between a golden dragon and a holy djinn, and its beauty is such that to lay eyes on it is to risk madness born from sorrow. Because once a person beholds Pashtu Rama, there can be no doubt that all that was once beautiful to the beholder will appear as ash and sludge for the rest of their life. Yet people continue to seek out Pashtu Rama, risking eternal sorrow and madness. Because, according to legend, Pashtu Rama possesses the power to help mortals find that which they covet most in life: Material possessions. I pursued knowledge of Pashtu Rama for many years, and in that time, I learned all of the steps one must take in order to woo Pashtu Rama, so that it might find me worthy and grant me my heart's most materialistic of desires. First, I stopped cutting my hair for a full year. During that time, I captured a wild Black Andalusian stallion, and broke him with my own hands in the middle of a frozen desert. I then crossed that desert on the stallion's back, sustained only by a diet of locusts and wild honey, and drinking only a tea made of the crushed blue petals of a local flower brewed in melted ice. I did this all the way to Lake Sary-Chelek, where I sacrificed the stallion to the gods and consumed its heart, then swam naked into the center of the lake, and then floated on my back, staring at the stars until I was lost in a trance, all the time thinking about the Hot Toys Sam Flynn with Light Cycle Sixth Scale Figure Set. I don't know how long I lay in that lake before I lost consciousness. But when I came to, I was back in my house in St. Louis, and this collectible was sitting on the table before me, wrapped in a box sealed with eBay tape. Hope that helps. Good luck!
I'm sure you will have years of enjoyment with what you've already acquired and I expect everything is displayed impeccably. Did not know you were such a funny guy, nice hair by the way....lol ...hope you get all the grails you want.

I had the Sam Flynn with Light Cycle on order for 2 years before cancelling it... kudos to those who hung on, it's a beautiful piece. I've also been trying to pick up a Dark Rider for years, but the possible leaning issues and slew of recasts from China have prevented me from picking up one up. Great Video!
Congrats on the score. Your excitement at getting this piece really showed. I haven't had that kind of excitement for collectibles since 2018. I'm just about done with collecting. When my current pre orders finally arrive I will have around fifty 1/6 figures. One 1/4 scale and three large statues. Plus my Lego UCS sets, My Hasbro Black helmets, Hasbro/Kenner 3.75 inch figures and vehicles. Two pieces I regret not buying are the Sideshow Thrawn 1/6 with command chair and another piece by Sideshow from the End of the Empire series where three ewoks are latched onto a storm trooper about to slaughter him. No way I will be paying the aftermarket prices on them.
So, I never knew this piece existed until your video. I’ve only been collecting sixth scale since May (came over from statues). I was lucky to come across one for $350 on a Facebook group last weekend. I missed out on the ones from the original Tron when I was a kid and this fills that void, what a awesome piece and one of my prized collectibles. Thanks for sharing
@@PosemasterGeneral the original. The Legacy ones certainly were breathtaking (the whole film is) but there's just something so built into my DNA from watching the film as a youngster. I only just realised i can now actually buy printed (or even make) my own versions of stuff like this!

Great video. And a piece we don’t see much about, so super thank you for sharing! About that Dewback, I’ve been hoping Sideshow redo it. They redid Jabba not so long ago. And considering how much it goes for in the secondary market.. maybe? 🤔

Dang I have so much to say! Would've loved to participate via live-chat during your premier so I apologize in advance for the following novel 😅 First, congrats on your grail acquisition! Your excitement during the unboxing was so genuine and full of passion that I couldn't help but smile and be happy for ya. I especially loved the backstory of you watching Tron > ROTJ > Top Gun > Lost Boys in succession which led to your love for motorcycles when you were younger. I too was heavily inspired by some of those films along with Legacy (particularly Sam's Ducati scene in the beginning and also Trinity's Ducati scene in Matrix Reloaded) which also led to me getting a Kawasaki Ninja back in 2011. Sorry to hear you totaled yours in a T-bone collision, but I'm super glad that you're still alive and kickin! Also, the bit of you casually blow-drying your figure then hair was hilarious 😂 And lastly, your thumbnail and IG post made my heart skip a beat -- I was worried that you were gonna go cold-turkey and sell off your figures for personal reasons. While I selfishly don't want ya to quit collecting nor stop hosting the fun posing videos at Sideshow, I absolutely commend and respect that you have an end goal in sight. While it may be a while until you acquire your 4 remaining grails, it's worth mentioning that throughout the years you've undeniably helped countless collectors across the world with your fun videos & poser tips, and you inspired folks like me to let my geek side show & follow suit by also making light-hearted & inviting content for fellow passionate posers to learn from & enjoy. Aaaahhh. The Encom 786. That full-scale model in the film is one of the sexiest things I've ever seen. I mean, that beefy rear tire alone is worth the price of admission.
This is top of my list for HT figures I wanna get with Gladiator Hulk second. I'd like to see HT branch with more movies/series in the future. I'd love them to do The Lost Boys
Gladiator Hulk is sweet, sweet, sweet. I turned it down because I thought it was expensive. Which is hilarious, when you compare it with the cost of a basic PF these days.
First off, this video was absolutely hilarious! Second, very nice grail pick up! I think I’m finally getting to a point in my collecting that if I can acquire those last few grail pieces, I would stop and be content. Unfortunately those pieces will cost me a fortune. But with the recent release of BTTF Marty and Doc, hopefully Hot Toys will release one of those grails, the DeLorean 😀
@@PosemasterGeneral $1799 + $100 something for shipping. Not sure where that lands on the kelly blue book value of this piece but that's honestly the average cost companies charge for statues of that scale today. That piece is a thing of beauty and look forward to seeing your video when you do!
Hope u find your 4 final pieces. I’d love the dewback myself. Space is my biggest issue. Your downsizing. What are you selling? Perhaps I need one of your letting go items. Btw I thought of stopping my collecting as well and have been thinking what to let go and what I want to complete my collection before I call it quits. Hot toys in my kryptonite! They are great with figures. But I’m also finding myself being pulled towards statue now. Which is crazy because they take up more space. And are fragile.
It will be tough to just "end" the collecting game. But I think it is a good idea to limit our collection to a certain amount of figure/statue. Whenever you are interested in a new release, you have to sell one from the existing collection. With preorder it usually gives you a year to make that decision lol
10 years later Terry will still be making videos. This is pretty much Kiss End of the Road Tour that they announced 5 years ago. Guess what they are still touring around the world!
I think its a good idea and looking at my collection and the % it takes from my salary I should do the same. I have always been about duality of things in my collection, so everything comes with atleast two pieces. Hero and a villain basically. So just need to find the two that work together and once those finished leave it at that. Examples.. Anakin and Vader. Obi-Wan and Maul. etc.. Always two there are, hmm.
the whole plastic free blind box Hasbro move is pushing me into the direction of giving up collecting , after 40 years I am almost done with buying figures.. ..
Some cool grail choices Terry. You have been a treasure to the community, but does anyone actually leave the hobby behind? Besides leaving the corporeal realm, I mean… in any case, :rock from me to to you.
Well, it’s certainly not to make Sideshow any money, given that they’ve all been sold out for ages. (Except for Psylocke. She’s only been sold out for a year or so.) Also, you might have missed the part where this video featured a Hot Toys piece. Seriously, man. If you want to start throwing out accusations about someone’s integrity, maybe you’d better start with having at least a marginal understanding of his motivations.
All of the pieces that Terry is chasing....Are older releases, and high priced on the secondary market! You must be new to the world of high-end collectibles. Let me guess.... You've collected 3.75 inch figures for a couple of years. And now you've recently started collecting Hot Toys. Which makes you think that you know everything about the hobby. Stick to collecting obscure watches! Sideshow pieces are a bit too much for you.
That’s a terrible attitude! And it’s also not true. I’ve profited in so many ways. I’ve made many excellent friends, for example. And collecting led me to SDCC, where I had many memorable experiences. And I started this channel, which taught me how to shoot and edit video. (If you question that, go all the way back to my first video. 😬 It’s awful.) Collecting led to many jobs in the industry, not just with Sideshow. It led to me moving to Southern California for eight years, where I met and adopted my dog, Dobby (which is reward enough by itself). But even putting that aside, the collecting experience has been reward enough.

Most statues are far more durable than your average sixth scale figure. Which does nothing to decrease their footprint, I'll grant you.
Well, fortunately you are chasing some unicorns so we will have you around for a while!
😅 You’re not wrong. This could take a minute.
Man i loved this video! Bitter sweet but everything ends , what a unique list if grails man
Oh and it looks amazing with a black light. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
That tracks. I was already considering putting it on a shelf with my Neon Tech armors.
This was fucking awesome man!!!! Wow you have one of the grails I’ve been wanting for years!!! Congratulations dude!!!!
One down, four to go. Thanks for watching, bro.
Good luck T! What was your name on the SSFreaks board? Rook? Been a while, still have the PF I bought from you years ago.
Wow. Yeah. Which PF was that? I've forgotten.
@@PosemasterGeneral Uruk-Hai Berserker.
Ah, nice! One of my top three selling regrets.
Actually, that’s not a bad idea for a video… 🤔
@@PosemasterGeneral it’s still in great shape. 👌
I get it. For real. I think I need to make myself a grail list.
It will be tough to just "end" the collecting game. But I think it is a good idea to limit our collection to a certain amount of figure/statue. Whenever you are interested in a new release, you have to sell one from the existing collection. With preorder it usually gives you a year to make that decision lol
That's a solid system if you can stick with it.
Don’t forget back to the future as a certified classic
That's a cool piece. When did it first come out?
2011 or 2012, I believe.
10 years later Terry will still be making videos. This is pretty much Kiss End of the Road Tour that they announced 5 years ago. Guess what they are still touring around the world!
Keep making comments like this, everyone. 👍🏻 It only strengthens my resolve. 😎
I’m working towards the same, but already been putting more and more money towards retirement and stocks
#wisdom
I think its a good idea and looking at my collection and the % it takes from my salary I should do the same.
I have always been about duality of things in my collection, so everything comes with atleast two pieces. Hero and a villain basically.
So just need to find the two that work together and once those finished leave it at that.
Examples.. Anakin and Vader. Obi-Wan and Maul. etc.. Always two there are, hmm.
the whole plastic free blind box Hasbro move is pushing me into the direction of giving up collecting , after 40 years I am almost done with buying figures.. ..
“No one’s really gone”
Great reference!
Some cool grail choices Terry. You have been a treasure to the community, but does anyone actually leave the hobby behind? Besides leaving the corporeal realm, I mean… in any case, :rock from me to to you.
I’m gona miss how to be a poser I love those I get ideas for my hot toys
I'm no dead yet, Boxer. It'll take me a few months at least to nail down the final three. Thanks for watching!
@@PosemasterGeneral no problem best of luck
Great video! Poor choice of t-shirt though. You shadowed the item all over.
Can't be helped. My entire wardrobe is black. I won't change that for anything. Not even you. :)
Good idea and your gonna save money. Makes sense to stop collecting.
Well, I’m probably just gonna spend that money on other things. Like vacations and motorcycles and stuff.
What? This title really bummed me out. Say it ain't so, Terry! :(
The clock is most definitely ticking, my friend.
@@PosemasterGeneral it does for all of us my friend unfortunately but the love never dies you can never get rid of that !
Wow, this new Terry got me worried, nonetheless keep up the sex appeal, there's no end game to that
Everyone needs an end game and I'm disgusted at the toy collecting game is so stupid now . First of the year I'm done because it's not fun anymore .
Never say never . Your talking to a guy who had a head made for over 500 bucks and I never traded or sold a copy of it . Lol private order.
Now im sad
Chin up, Buttercup! It'll be a few months at least until I can find the rest at a good price.
@@PosemasterGeneral now im happy because theres still months left and because you replyed. Thank you very much
I actually played lol
I encourage that.
😞
Side note: star trek references are appropriate everywhere
You get me.
Can you really let go?
Absolutely. When you realize that your hobby is keeping you from checking things off of your bucket list, then it's time to let it go.
I’m concerned, why are all these grail pieces from sideshow? I smell something…
Sideshow pieces are a bit too much for you.
no profit in starting anyway
That’s a terrible attitude! And it’s also not true. I’ve profited in so many ways. I’ve made many excellent friends, for example. And collecting led me to SDCC, where I had many memorable experiences. And I started this channel, which taught me how to shoot and edit video. (If you question that, go all the way back to my first video. 😬 It’s awful.)
Collecting led to many jobs in the industry, not just with Sideshow. It led to me moving to Southern California for eight years, where I met and adopted my dog, Dobby (which is reward enough by itself).
But even putting that aside, the collecting experience has been reward enough.
this video should be 4 minutes long.
You pipe down. Or I’ll email you the Director’s Cut.
If I bought a hot toy and it broke i wo u lx never buy one again, what a rip off
I have the Dew in it's box.
