My dream bike... i have KRR 150 2stroke, popular in SE Asia, but this kind of gt380 with 3 Cyl- single silencer always stole my heart, everytime.. pure art, pure eargasm..
It is not a 3 into 1 Single silencer. I do have these (Shrader and Zenshin) and agree nice when they have a chamber section. These in this video are 3 into 3 from JEMCO out of Texas USA I bought a while back maybe 16 years ago now. Here is another GT380 with same pipes so you can see them better. I think mine is jetted a bit better and fresh everything else so sounds more crisp. Still have this bike, Added GT550 carbs since, etc... You guys are lucky. Those KKR 150 are nice. Have to agree with you, stock pipes sound good (hey, it's a 2 stroke triple after all!), but the sound of these chambers IS AMAZING. I'm just finishing up with a ground-up restoration of a 1970 T350, and I have the Higgspeed pipes on order for that, so I'm pretty stoked to receive them (just a few more weeks). I've always really loved the sound of a triple, though, so I'm seriously considering getting one for my next restoration project!
No problem, worth more original pipes , still have the originals!. As far as how they compare.3 into 3 expansion chambers across the full RPM range improves performance greatly, add more top end too and weigh much less than stock. Not always the case with chambers. To me sound is amazing. A fine wind instrument and so much fun to play music with. The factory exhaust is very nice looking and won’t sell. Nor do I see them back on bike unless I no longer own it..
I had one of these, third owner I think. The charging system went out. Now days I would fix it, Back then when I was around 20 years old, didn't have a clue. It was fast.
the gt550, non usa, after 1975 came with plated bores overseas. the gt380s were cast liners. since the cooling is good on gt380 for an aircooled engine and if you used cast piston vs forged the min cleareance if i recall can be as low 0.0018" i had mine bored to that. well i asked for .0015" and i think i got .002 if not tadd more. long ago now. hard to find someone that can really bore that close. hard to measure that close as well. no slap to speak of so far. also the ram air adds some noise insulation goop on the head cap which really helps. still have this bike with some mods since this old video. driving it is like playing a finely tuned wind instruments with all three in harmony. thanks for response.

YES! There's nothing like the sound of the tripple under load, hitting powerband.. They sound like a ferrari... I miss mine SO bad!! X' ( Mine had the wicked chrome factory 3 into 4 pipes! (center Y pipe) twin-split tail pipes. It sounded so sick I didn't even wanna get race pipes! lol ; )
Sweeeet... hehe, I broke my neck on one of those in 1973, oh yeah, quick as. There Was only one problem with it, it had 3 cylinders into 4 pipes, so you couldn't lean into a corner... BUT... wow, it was so quick and had great torque, all you had to do was 'get off' round the corners like a Moto GP rider, loved it, ran it with racing (vegetable:) oil... mmmmmm :P~~~
I think the T350 Higgs are a new design from him. How much were they and with shipping? I have a T350/305 top end on a 74 GT250 with D&Gs you may have seen. Recently I shaved 2mm of bottom of piston skirts (T350) minor loss if any bottom end so much more mid to top. Thought I would tell you just to mess with your mind, Post a video of those Higgs when you get them running. Very nice choice

I had one, and I wish I still have it, amazing bike, really fast; and of course, the sound was just like a race car.

I have T350 T500 GT380 GT550 and GT750 today all running well for Suz
had 3 on 1 GTs like this, You know what I liked the most? The way the 2T smelled. Loved my bike!

wow that thing sounds awesome almost reminds me of my uncles 600 triple snowmobile the way it sounds at higher rpm
Great little bikes, I loved mine, they did tend to get piston slap when the chrome bore wore out early

I had a 1975 one of these, not a good bike really. I use to get fed up with being burnt up by Yamaha RD 400's
