Enjoy this deep dive into the darkest corners of video games! I'm super proud of this video so if you could drop a like and even share with a friend who might enjoy it I would really appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of the spooky season and stay scared!
I have been an aficionado of HP Lovecraft Literature (and yes I am a Christian and he was an atheist), but I have been hooked since being in the Military (lots of Bunk reading/down time), over 15 years ago. Even my favorite Director/Writer...Guillermo del Toro loves his work and wants to make a movie about "At the Mountains of Madness", basically THE THING before it became a movie. Anyway, Just subscribed and found your channel. NOW...I also have noticed a lot of us Lovecraft-ers like Sherlock Holmes...have you ever played or can do a review on the "The Sinking City". It doesn't have Sherlock in it, but was made by Frog Wares that make those games. Also, if you want an awesome movie (besides the two Black and White movies on the Cthulhu Mythos)...I sincerely recommend "Dagon"...and it's not about Dagon but it IS one of the closest adaptations to H.P.'s works. Thanks.
@@ajaxslamgoody9736 Man, we have lots of similar tastes haha! Also thank you for your time in the military. As for Sinking City, I'm actually playing it right now haha! I'm gonna say a few things about it in my last video of the year. And gosh... When will Del Toro make a Lovecraft adaptation dang it!!! 😆 I've been wanting his At The Mountains of Madness for years. Lovecraft is by far my favorite author ever. Thanks for watching and for subscribing. I recently uploaded a review of the latest Sherlock game by the way ;)
We aren't attracted to evil... we are attracted to death. We SEE death as evil, and so those who can't get over their fear of death to the point that they live a "dark" lifestyle to cope APPEAR to be evil. They are just afraid.
I'm surprised there is no mention of SOMA here, it's a must play for anybody looking for great atmosphere and psychological horror. I still think about that game to this day.
Honestly was expecting Madison to appear on this list, since you included footage of it in the preface. Still, a good list of games for me to check out.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic Ah, okay. So you just used footage from the game trailer, I take it? Have you played Madison yet, BTW? It was decent, IMO, though definitely drew a lot of inspiration from Visage.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic I've only ever heard of the Manhunt games and the Cthulu game. But now I'm interested in all of the games featured here. I will definitely give them a try if possible.
@@instantgratification3925 Aside from Rule of Rose (which you need to emulate if you don't want to pay thousands of dollars for a physical copy) they're all easy to get 😉
God damn good video man! I've always wanted to play duck season but I completely forgot about. Seems like such a crazy game. And Stories untold looks pretty cool actually!
Glad you liked it man! And yes, Duck Season is one hell of a mind-melter. Stories Untold is brilliant. The rest of the episodes are different but the overall package will stay with you for sure ;)
Woooooooooahhhhh now I'm sad I'm actually going to a party tonight, wish I had more time to try out Duck Season! My personal suggestion would be Doki Doki Literature Club!
Watching this at mid night was maybe not the best idea. This video is creepy as hell. Will check out no one lives under the light house asap because why not
Haha I love reading this type of comment. That was exactly my intention ;) And yes, No One Lives Under The Lighthouse is ridiculously cheap too. A really bizarre experience that I thoroughly enjoyed!
Hoo hoo! Bone chilling list! 🥶 It's brilliant! Shame it's always in America, there are scarier places like Paris catacombs 🇨🇵 or Romania 😏. 🇹🇩 🦇🧛♂️ 1997 Ps1 Nightmare creatures was proper scary! Set in victorian London e. g.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic My time in Paris I wasn't able to visit catacombs 😖 Or see Mono Lisa! Awww such memories Nightmare creatures 1 and mad scientist Adam Crowley! A more recent 1 I like, Alice madness returns 2013 was also proper Creepy! All of it, although unlike Little nightmares it had a happy ending.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic oh cannot wait for another creepy Alice game! Loved Alice Madness Returns like you did - 2013 Again unlike Little Nightmares it had somewhat of a happy ending BUT an even darker plotline. Awww and Nightmare Creatures! PS1 I was but a 5 year old boy then - 1997
Totally! I'm currently playing through The Sinking City, a Detective game set in a Lovecraftian world with plenty of references to his short stories. It's quite clunky but it's definitely worth a try for any Lovecraft fan :)
(Fran Bow) is also a very disturbing game! On the surface, you may think it's just about mental asylum and drugs and addiction, but deeper down, you will understand what a twisted mind the main character has!
Fantastic UA-cam videos about great games but just about nobody these days cares if it's readily available on disc some places have very poor internet or in my case I just don't want to support something like the digital market and so too many times these videos offer nothing for me because the vast majority of the games I haven't heard of simply do not have a physical disc to purchase

Soma is incredible. I thought about including it, but it just didn't cut it. It could have very much been in there though ;)
