Thanks a boat load for watching and sharing. Always great to hear from you and have your support for the channel. SPJ is addictive. It's a new and fresh adventure... when you get that first hook up, it'll be like the first fish you ever caught. Thanks again for everything. Tight lines & take care ;)
Excellent video just got a Shimano Talica16 reel and a Shimano 6'6" Trevala series rod. Just have to get me the rings and jigs. Gonna give it a try. Great explanation on rigging and pitching. Thanks
Thanks a million for watching and sharing. Sounds like a setup for slaying. I've been through many manufacturers of slow jigs... saltiga, nomad, shimano... I find the most reliable bite producing jigs to be from the company JYG. Good luck in all your fishing adventures. Always great to hear from you and have your support for the channel. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching some more and leaving some fantastic feedback. I love taking my kids out on the boat and fishing with them. They are my good luck charms. And we have these experiences together that we can share in the future and sit back and embellish and laugh about what went right and what went wrong. Thanks again for all your support I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
Hi John, thanks for watching and sharing your enthusiasm. Definitely worth a shot. When you're ready to gear up, come see me, I'll set you in the right direction. Thanks a million for all your support. Tight lines & take care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and sharing. Hopefully it has been going better for you lately. Glad to know you haven't given up on it. Just stay away from the Hydro and you'll have more fun. Soon you'll find yourself exploring places that seem like there's no fish around and you'll be getting the hook up. Always a true pleasure to hear from you and have your support for the channel. You can always email me with any questions. Tight lines & take care ;)

Hi Heath, That looks like a lot of fun. I hope to try it someday. I wonder if I could use a modified version of Slow Pitching in fresh water ? Hope the family's well. Take care and "see" you on Thursday's video. Thanks, Mickey
Hi Mickey Thanks for watching and always be here. It is fun. It's always like a new adventure, as if I'm learning a whole new side of the ocean I never knew existed. I'm sure slow pitch would work in fresh water, you would just have to find your groove and what works to attract the bite. All is well here with the family, hopefully the same on your end. Will definitely see you Thursday. Take care :)
Braid doesn't stretch and it's highly visible. Leader adds shock absorbency so you don't yank the hooks out of the fish's mouth and it gives you a stealthy presentation.
Thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. There really is no logic. I have found there to be no difference in the hook up ratio when it comes to using mono or fluoro for your leader when slow jigging. They both have the elasticity component that helps set the hooks. Hope this answers your question. Thanks again for your support of the channel, I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & tak care ;)
Thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. Yes you can get started without really purchasing any new setups... just work with what you have already in your arsenal. I started out years ago with a spinner, loaded it with braid and started figuring things out. what you need is a shock absorbent rod, one with enough flex to pitch the jig and then let it fall... Make sure you have braid, jigging is ineffective if you don't have braid... Mono stretches too much for proper jig reaction. Here's the links to a couple of episodes I've made for anglers who are looking to get into slow pitch, but aren't sure if they're ready to commit: ua-cam.com/video/dKTqZlwKydA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/ReBqlKWM0G0/v-deo.html Hope this information is helpful. Good luck in your journeys. Tight lines & take care ;)

why do you need a shock leader thank you

What's the logic behind using Mono over FLouro?

Thanks for the video - Can you get into SPJ at a low cost for Rod & Reel, to just try it out and see if you like it?

Yes by a tsunami trophy slow pitch rod for a 100 bucks and a shimano torium 16hg will do.as well as a thousand dollar set up
