Noun Cases: Nominative, Objective, and Possessive L2 Pt3

Lesson 2 Part 3
In this 3rd part of the lesson on Nouns, we will discuss the different cases of noun usage - nominative, objective, and possessive.
Note:- Apostrophe('s) is used only with living nouns. It is not used with non-living nouns like chair, table etc. In this video the example of bucket, (while explaining about the use of apostrophe('s)) has been taken by mistake. so please don't consider it.

Direct and indirect object can be both the nour or pronoun( Direct object recieve the action of a verb directly and indirect object recieve the action through the direct object).

The answer of 1 will be
Mahima is in nominative case as it is the subject of the sentence as she is the one who is reading the book
and book is a direct object as book is a non living noun.
2.John's brother came here
John's will be in possesive case as John's brother went there. John's is having relation with his brother as his older or younger brother.

A common noun can be used as either the subject or the object of a sentence. Actually a subject of a sentence is one that the sentence is about. The subject performs an action and object receives the action of the subject.
For example......
1. The park offers a safe place for children to play.
2. The girl gave him a pen.
In the above sentences park and girl are common noun which are used as subjects. So they will be considered in nominative case. 😊👍👍👍
