    Hey there. I just got my eb-x 26. The wheel they gave me for the front has an axel and nuts already on it, and I can’t seem to get it out. I want to get it out because the bolts don’t stick out past the fork to get my nuts on the outside of fork on. The bike came with an axel and nuts and washers on the forks, that seem to work great, but I can’t get them in Because there already is axels in the wheel. Am I missing something? Or did they send something that’s not right. Tried emailing and I called and got the new girl who can’t help me. Currently waiting on someone to get back to me but would like this resolved, just waited week for the bike now possible another week for proper parts

      @@seanogorman3617 That's an axle to maintain the fork position during shipping. You can remove that one and put it aside. The rear wheel fits in its place and it should fit nicely since the distance has been maintained by the shipping bolt.

    I've watched quite a few videos on the Jasion eb5 and eb5 plus ebikes and every single person has pronounced the name "Jasion" differently. I would really like to know how it's really pronounced.

    I keep mine in 5th gear and use the throttle just a little. My gripe is the front brake seems to rub constantly against the rotor and squeals alot while not using it. Many adjustments it still does it but other wise i love it!

    • @PeterC408

      Brakes often require adjustments but this is true on every bike I've had. Loosen it so that it does not rub, that would drive me batty. Yes, it is a good bike. A buddy of mine borrowed it several months ago and he rides it everyday. I don't have the heart to take it back. He has over 2K miles on it now.

    Looks like a very nice electric bike. Does it have a speedometer on it or do you know how fast it goes?

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  2 роки тому

      It does have a nice display that includes a speedometer (see 8:42) . In order to be considered an e-bike and allow you to ride without a license, it should stop assisting your speed at 19Mph (30Km/s) and this bike does just that. The digital display will show you how fast you are going. When you pedal and assist the motor, it is easy to get to 20Mph and my kids can get it to 25Mph. Sure some bikes boast speeds that should be reserved for a moped which requires, insurance, license and a helmet (which is always a good idea even for a normal bike). You can see a nice picture of the display at 8:42 Thanks

    Good value for an entry-level, starter e-bike although 15-20 mile range for a commuter frame is a little on the low side. Hopefully, more pedal assist = a little more range. The Pandemic caused a big spike in Prices from many e-bike companies and distributors. Nice to see lower cost choices back on the menu.

      People who ride long distances 5 times a week probably want to step up to the next level. My neighbor rides twice a week and has a $4000 bike. He brings it inside at night.... it is a different kind of bicyclist. He stopped to take a look at this one and was surprised at the quality and price point.

    Thanks for the review Peter. It's been some time since you did a review on an e-bike. If memory serves me correct, 3 years ago you did a review on the folding T18 ebike which I also purchased around that time. I still have mine, wonder if yours is still in working order? My only issue is it's probably time to replace the battery since it no longer holds a charge properly diminishing the range. Might be difficult finding a suitable replacement battery here in the states. Please let me know if you know of any vendors? Thanks!

      Mine still is in working order and I take it to the shore when I go surfing. It fits nicely in my car and gives me freedom to go check the surf. My battery still works, do you ride yours a lot?

      @@PeterC408 That's good to hear! Definately a good e-bike at the price we both paid for it, which was fantastic. I ride mine to the beach and boards on Staten Island, NY whenever I can, mostly during those nice weather days of Spring, Summer and Fall. I have taken it many times on the ferry into the city where I work. I mainly use the throttle since we have lots of hills out here, but do pedal my butt off with those small tire also!! Exercise for sure. Got a quick question: If you were to pick up the bike, lifting the rear wheel off the ground and spin the rear wheel with your hand, do you experience some noticeable resistance? I would think that rear wheel should spin freely as the front does. I've had to adjust the disc brakes once. Hopefully I can find a replacement battery so I can continue to ride this little beast.

      I bought a bike based on the Bosch system 7 years ago because I wanted to be sure to get a new battery in the future. Sure those batteries are available but they are $700!!!!!! www.rei.com/product/181983/bosch-powerpack-500-frame-battery I made sure that this one had a case that can be opened and the cells replaced. There are places that will rebuild the batteries using new cells.

      @@PeterC408 Thanks Peter. Sorry for the delayed response as I'm battling a gout flare up which is no fun. I guess my ebike is basically a throw away product once the battery goes. I've seen one or two UA-cam videos describing at least one vendor in California who uses state of the art equipment to evaluate and replace or recondition those cells which have become defective for whatever the reason. There's always the possibility of purchasing an external.battery making sure of the right voltage and needed amp hours and installing it externally, but is it worth going through all that trouble. Thanks again!! Check this out!

    looks good but with only a 36v motor and battery this should be in the $500 price rang. $36v hub motor with accs. $200+36v battery and case $200+ bike $150=$550. those are retail prices not manufacture prices so you can assume that half of that $550 is profit. so they build the bike for $225 and sell it for $700.

    • @PeterC408
      @PeterC408  2 роки тому +2

      Look at the comment below, the pandemic strangled supply chains, forced demand and prices shot up. I am not sure where you live, but I have not seen an e-bike at retail under $1500! This one finally hits an approachable price point. Also, you shouldn't judge anything based solely on the voltage of the motor. Voltage is half of the power equation and even then, the power something consumes tells you nothing about efficiency. It makes me laugh when vacuums are sold by wattage - how well do they pickup dirt is the real question. Such simplistic math, negates the disc brakes, 7-speed gearing and front suspension. I think you just feel like typing... go out and ride a bicycle.

      Drugs are bad. I have serval bikes and none of them have a motor over 400W. I have had them for years. Are you trying to tow a boat ? Seriously, I rode this bike in Carmel straight up Ocean street. Can you say 40 degree incline for 1 mile? Any ebike that goes over 20mph is not only dangerous but will require insurance and a license. I am trying to stay in the e-bike realm.

I am on disability with a fixed income and rely on a food stamp program to provide for my family, we used the shield for streaming and gaming to bring a little joy to our lives. I know it's a lot to ask but Would you be so generous and if you have any connections with them or have an extra laying around send me a replacement? Please 🙏🏻 and thank you.
