I love how Ana Bray taught him language, yet Rasputin speaks inverted Russian. His words are right, but the order is apparently supposed to be slightly different (think Russian Yoda). It's clearly his own version of Russian, but whether he was taught it like that by Ana or simply decided that it makes more sense to be inverted as it is, I have no idea.
He has spoken regular Russian before (which may as well be a dead language) in Destiny 1. He also just had a Hive Worm God digging around his neural net

@@bustanut5540 Okay, I've made a mistake, after some checking I realized in the mess that is Destiny's lore I had confused a formerly compelling theory for fact (it is now apparently debunked by new information but I'm still a tad fuzzy on it) that the Traveller had been raising up civilizations and then running away before the Darkness arrived but Rasputin crippled it with a surprise attack to keep it from leaving humanity behind like it was said to have done to the Fallen from a certain interpretation of a part of the grimoire. Evidently I'm a little behind on the story.

Coming back to this after Season of the Seraph lore bombs. Hearing Rasputin's speech in his gloriously digitized reverse Russian make these statements and then acknowledging Clovis created him to destroy the Traveler makes Rasputin all the more terrifying. His new human Clovis voice takes him down a notch. I wish we get the angry Russian Warmind back in a massive vault where he can do what he does best: Create weapons.

it probably only sounds so cool because they heavily edited it in post to have like 3 different layers of pitch correction with the additional two being lower octaves than the actual recording. if youre referring to how hes speaking Russian then I mean, anyone can learn to say a few phrases in a different language
The Fallen, Cabal, Hive, and Vex just got themselves in a war with a Russian god - a slumbering giant, a protector of Humanity - a result of our genius.
That did done nothing when the cabal took over the last city, tried to stop the iron Lord's from controlling the SIVA that could have been used to rebuild humanity (before the last city), and we have no control over him so if he snaps or gets a virus he can land a the final blow on humanity (and possible destroy the travel). so I don't really trust Rasputin. (Also I not trying to be mean In any way, I'm just sharing my opinion, for all I know I may be the one that is wrong after all).

Zivala is justified in being concerned about the path they have chosen because they aren't really in control anymore (in the context of this scene) I do think it could be a point of transition for humanity, a trust partnership cannot be fully realised if each party isn't fully individualized and can self determine. Since the parties are humanity and Rasputin, R clearly had to be quite powerful to compliment all of humanity

Which shows Rasputin hasn't helped humanity in a long time, even after we helped to save him from the hive he still does nothing. It's reversed Russian with a lot of effects and multiple layers of different voices. Here's the unreversed version: clyp.it/stek1iie. The "I am Rasputin" hasn't been reversed to make it more clear and intimidating.
