Hi, you definitely don't need to cancel your application. Some people have applied for a study permit from outside Canada without submitting 5257 and still got their study visa. The argument is actually ongoing if it's necessary or not, so no fear!! It's just that I always advise to add everything and let the visa officer pick what they need- in this case completing 1294e and 5257/5707. So simply raising a webform and attaching your completed and validated form is sufficient. As I said, I know someone who got his approval without completing the 5257/ 5707 form, so no worries. All the best!!

No Duo lingo is not approved by CIC!!!. The only approved English tests by Canadian Immigration is IELTS and CELPIP! You can use TOEFL for admission but not for Immigration purpose e.g NSE and PR.
Julie just a query, though i have uploaded in my application imm5257. But in the background section of imm1294 form at the very bottom it specify if we have answered yes to any questions from 3 to 6 we may have to fill the 5257 schedule 1 form else not required. Can you enlightened more on this?
Hi Shabahat, the 5256/5257 is the application for TRV from outside Canada and its required to be completed anyway by applicants coming to study from outside Canada. Honestly its hard to say why answering yes to those questions will require filling that form. Perhaps they are adding it as an extra layer of security... All in all, if you answer yes, make sure you upload the extra form. All the best!!
For those going with family where do we include those documents (marriage cert, etc?. Also at what point I can pay for my SOWP for spouse and study permit for children.
Hi Eziuche, you have to separately apply for your spouse and children. I detailed this in my "bring your spouse video" and "bring your children to Canada video". This portal is strictly for your study permit application submission. If applying for your spouse and children at the same time, you need to create a separate "open work permit application" for your spouse and " study or visit visa application" for your children depending on their age . When submitting my application I did not submit the application for a temporary visa made outside Canada. My agent said it was optional
the space where they asked "Is work an essential component of your studies?" is the answer still yes if the program has an optional co-op ?
