Very inspring! Your parents must be proud of you and you must be proud of them.

My son was born with AMC 7 years ago and he is the biggest blessing! He really has shown us he is capable of anything he sets his mind to. He plays baseball in the community and he’s great at it. He was affected from his arms and hands and he has had surgery to help open up his hand and give him more range of motion with his fingers. I would say that he really is independent for his age, and we’ve never treated him any differently than his brother and we’re careful not to make him feel like he’s limited in the things he can do, unless he really can’t do something due to his hands. For example push ups are something he isn’t able to do and he knows that. His wrists don’t go into the position to allow that type of workout and I know he accepts that, and we’re proud of everything he has been able to do. I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos and opening up about your personal experience with AMC!

Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm so glad to hear about your son being independent as much as he can, it'll definitely make things easier for him in the future :)

Love this. I almost cried. I’m so guilty of babying Zaylee sometimes. She’s going to be 7 months old in 4 days and I got nervous about putting her in a baby swing at a playground because I didn’t think she was ready lol. Even though she’s now sitting completely independently and she was just fine 😅 I caught myself doing it and was like wow I should let her be a 7 month old

I’m so glad you liked it! Don’t feel guilty at all! Zaylee’s so young that I think it’s absolutely normal you are worried about everything about her, everyone would even with an able-bodied kid 😅 Zaylee’s lucky she’s got you as her mom ❤️ How’s she btw? Anything changed since we’ve talked a few weeks ago?

99% able she saw a hand surgeon at the Shriners hospital! It was so refreshing talking to a doctor so well-versed in AMC. He doesn’t think she’ll need surgery on her thumbs, and if she can make it to 90° flexion by 1 year old she won’t need elbow surgery either! She wears wrist splints now every day, and we get AFOs for her ankles soon. Apparently her Achilles is quite a bit tighter than we thought. But she’s doing so well with her arms! I’ll send you a quick video on Instagram!

@@zaynah_elizabeth That's great to hear, I'm really happy for you! And it's really good she's getting her orthosis, I used to wear them between physio till I was around 12 and they really help. And yes, please send me the video! I'd love to see how's Zaylee's doing xx
