Matt is not only fast, but he has some of the most complex fills and grooves that ive seen from any drummer

He is the best drummer at his scene, no doubt about that
In the rock scene 4/4 is played really often and is boring, but when matt helders plays 4/4, its fucking in a different level
You gotta check out other drummers. They’re great don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t call them complicated, it’s 4/4

The hardest working and most vital members of any live performance but more or less ignored.
You can see it 0:44, 2:04, 3:44 and many others details. The center view is not the same than the 4 others. Remember, At The Apollo was filmed for a DVD, Monkeys probably performed 2 days, and the production mixed that.
It was just the one gig, the editing is what makes it unsynchronized

don michael brown, sorry mate, you must not be a drummer... Helders plays nice and fast, but Keith was way more carismatic, and Bonhan was way more vreative, just to begin with. It is all a matter of like. Helders is fast, but not the faster. He puts only the other indie drummers to shame.
hahaha are any of you drummers? to say that this "drummer" is agile, or a "beast" is hilarious. this is more basic drumming than you learn in high school. he doesnt even incorporate any rudiments... you all need to check out some real drummers like martin axenrot, ray luzier, thomas lang, tony royster jr are only a few.

mark donaldson not only is he late m8, but he is also wrong. Not only to dis another musician just because their style doesn't coincide with theirs, but just be plain wrong. His fills are complex and he is fast. Not just in tempo but in movement around the kit. Also, there is one thing all those drummers have in common; they have a fuckload of drums and symbols. I have heard it said many a time a great drummer is not the person who can drum the fastest, or who has the most drums, but is the one who can have the most basic of kits and make it sound amazing and matt is just that. His grooves and fills are pretty fucking amazing sounding and feel great to play. Not only that, but it is also simple done perfectly.
Question is, are you even an artist if you are dissing others music because you don't like it?
