- I'm sorry that any of you ever have to see me lose control of my emotions like this. It's not my way. But the truth is, I cry almost every single day over the genocide of Gaza.
As many of you all know, I'm a new Muslim - converting just a few months ago at the start of Ramadan. And it was seeing and studying the faith of Palestinians up close and personal that impacted my heart so deeply.
And when I heard the following words from the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, I was so excited, because I've tried to live by this my whole life. The Hadith says,
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart - and that is the weakest of faith.” - Hadith 34, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi
But the more I thought about these words, the more I realized that we are completely failing to live up to them. In this video, filmed from the floor of the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey - I break it all down.
The bottom line is that we must ALL do so much more. Including me and you.

I am not Muslim but I feel the pain that such a horrible crime is happening. The humanity failed Palestinians and there is no going back from it. I feel shame but mostly anger and feer because the world is very dark, it feels like it is something completely different than I thought it is. The lies and cruelty is deeper than I have ever imagined. I feel like I am seeing devil itself and I cannot unsee it or stop seeing it.

Al'hamdu'lillah i always have my Sunnah fasts. And this sacred month of Muharam have been fasting the Ashura until to the white days of the Month and Al'hamdu'lillah and at the iftar time i take time to put all my worries and burden of my life and i remember my brothers and sisters because it is the time where Dua is answered. The country i was born in ( Afghanistan) suffered 50 years of wars civil, ussr and nato zi0nist occupation eventually leading to withdrawal in 2021.
Saw horrors of war at age 7 and 8, lost countless family members and neighbors but the horrors of what the Palestinians have gone through since 1948 is what breaks my heart everyday and left me numb and in a state of severe frustration and anger even before october 2023. Helpless and angry I made peace with my heart and came to the conclusion that this is all in allahs plan and everything is happening exactly how he wants it and he chose the brave beautiful guardians of the alaqsa for this battle and the highest level of heaven as their reward. I feel every word and every tear Shaun. I’m not Muslim, but I am a human being with a heart and empathy for our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are suffering in such a tremendous tragic way…..it’s unbelievable to watch the suffering and soo hurtful to see the continuing of barbaric brutality against women and children, the elderly, and not be able to help 1 single soul with our hands. It’s gut wrenching and a hard pill to swallow to know there’s nothing I can physically do to help the people of Gaza, to shield them, to hold an orphaned child telling them that your going to be ok because I got you. It is very hard….i loose sleep every night, because this should not be happening. Those with military power should be stepping in to use their hands. Yemen can only do soo much. To see the world go on with their daily lives as if nothing is happening sickens me to my core. Every place of worship no matter what denomination you are should have a Free Palestine Stop the Genocide outside of their building flying high for everyone to see and know that you don’t have to be a Muslim, you don’t have to be an Arab, you don’t have to even understand the entire conflict, what needs to be understood is that human beings are being slaughtered and displaced, starved to death, being treated inhumanly, unjust, their lands being taken, stripped from all their dignity…it’s too much to digest, my heart is heavy for the people of Palestine 🇵🇸
