Honestly, this song fits the new cast perfectly. In most of gleeks' eyes they're just "outcasts". Give them a chance you know? To hell, Rachel was the most self absorbed character on the show but she grew on to us and now we love her to death. Can't we do the same for Marley? Ryder? Unique? Jake? Kitty? Etc. They honestly just work as hard as the previous cast or even harder. Learn to accept, isn't that what Glee is all about?

I completely agree. I think people are trying to project the old characters onto the most recent ones but if you take a step back and look at them on their own, they're great characters with great stories, no less interesting or talented than the characters we love. Give them a break, people; in my opinion, season four is the best we've had since S1 (I love S2 & 3, but they have good spells & bad spells) And back to the subject, yeah, this is an amazing song; one of their best originals :)

Season 4 is by far my favorite season ever. I know people are gonna freak out on me for saying this but its true. the Newbies are amazing. not that the Originals aren't because they are THE originals. i miss them as much as the next person, but the new kids have a new special place in my heart. I love how they discussed Bulimia, School Violence, hell they even talked about Prostitution and why people do it. amazing job Ryan Murphy. brilliant

I mean it's still been good lately of course but, with all the changes that have happened, it's nice to be reminded from time to time why we fell in love with this show in the first place(don't get me wrong, it's still good just... not as much..) and this song does a dang good job of it, so did last episode lol good job glee! The message might be the same as Loser Like Me, but it doesn't mean that this song is "Loser Like Me 2.0". The rhythm of this song is better and the lyrics are fantastic. The song doesn't need to be sung by the old cast to be better. You guys are stuck in the past, break free! Look forward!

It's all about evolution, not about being "beaten." Glee clubs don't compete with those prior from their own schools. Growing and changing with new voices is what makes it just like any school in the country.
People hate on the new cast because it means less air time for the old cast, I don't think any Gleeks actually HATE the new cast, I like them, but i'd choose a rachael/kurt scene over them any day. I think that's the reason some people are upset. It has just been announced that mercades/mike/puck/brit will no longer be "main cast" and are now guest stars so I can see why people are upset.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like so far there is not much to like or not like about the new characters. So far I feel like the show is focused on the old characters left at McKinley (especially Blaine, Sam and Brittany) and we're not getting much about the new ones. I mean, yes, there has been some minor drama, but nothing that would make me feel closer to them on a personal level - well, maybe except Kitty, they're doing a good job with her. I'll see what happens next season...
Can you people please stop talking shit about the new cast members? They are working so hard. It took the original cast three seasons to be happy, so why can't you give the new cast one season? I should start by saying i have nothing against the old Glee or Rachel and Finn, but i prefer this equal opportunities version of glee which has a better spread when it comes to singing, and not simply having most of the songs centered around the same two people, there is a better multi-layered story line in this series. i think I've played this song at least ten times now. i must freak out people on the street by singing it. brilliant song hope they do more originals.
it isn't so much that they r ostracized exactly. It's more like they personally feel as though they don't quite fit in anywhere else but with each other. They feel like they r bigger than the town they live in and often they r punished for it-- but there is no outlet for them to express themselves except in song in the glee club. So they feel emotionally (if not always socially) outcast. (also btw just because they haven't filmed as many scenes with bullying doesn't mean it doesn't still happen)

Season 4 (Great second half of season but the first half was dull, good songs that are a bit more modern) 3. Season 1 (The drama was obviously great but the songs were a bit too old for this generation, some were good) Right?

He made a show where he shows that everyone he's special and that the inside counts... he's brilliant an amazing person
i'm probably going to receive major hate for this, but i actually like the newbies just as much as the originals. don't get me wrong, the originals will always have a place in my heart, & i miss them just as much as anyone else would, i just hate the fact that some fans are not as exceptive of ryder, marley, jake, etc. i just don't understand it sometimes. the original members are still here. they're not gone for good & never will be. people just need to realize that there will always be new.
And you know racism is still something that black people fight with to this day. Kitty may not have real problems, but it's clear that she's afraid to be herself. Tina's.. Tina. In the beginning she was so cripplingly shy faked a stutter, so people wouldn't talk to her. I think that's enough to make her an outcast. She's still not extremely outgoing. As for Blaine.. well, Blaine is gay and homophobia is still a factor in everyday's society, unfortunately.
You can be an outcast because of your personality traits. Do you know how many people stray away from people who are with somehow non-conventional thinking? Who somehow don't fit in with them? Yeah, this is what means to an outcast. To feel excluded from everyone else. As for them, Sam was homeless at some point, Brittany failed school and had to repeat the year, Ryder has dyslexia, Marley had a brief encounter with eating disorder and clearly has issues with self-confidence, Jake is half-black
Now that this season's almost over, I think I can rank all of Glee's seasons in terms of best music, collectively: 1. Season 4 (It had a lot of 80s and 90s music, which I just love) 2. Season 1 (The most iconic songs of Glee were done in this season) 3. Season 3 (A balanced mix of old and new songs, with REALLY great tribute songs such as MJ, Whitney, and the Bee Gees) 4. Season 2 (Ugh, too much Top 40...plus the fact that this season's really messed up, story-wise) How about you?
I feel like your view of the word "outcast" is kinda off... You don't have to have a physical disability or a different race or a different view of your sexuality to be an outcast. I'm a white, "shiny-haired" girl with "normal" friends and I'm not gay, blind or in a wheelchair and I still feel like an outcast. This group of kids may not be the most popular group nor the most unpopular, but they are individuals that are different and feel like they don't belong. And that's how I see "outcasts"
They all have their problems but you have to agree that they fit in at the high school way more than the original cast did. Blaine is not bullied for being gay like Kurt was. Together with Brittany, he is a cheerio. No one makes fun of Ryder's dyslexia. These kids are basically left alone. They have their strong group of friends and even glee club has lost "loser club" title. It's good that they are not repeating storylines but no, they are not outcasts.
This song trumps Loser Like Me & Light Up The World easily! It uses more natural instruments than the other songs did, which is huge for me. Also, this song symbolizes Glee a lot better; saying that being an outcast is better than being normal; while Loser Like Me simply conveys the message of being better than everyone else. Also this song is more group oriented, while Loser Like Me & Light Up The World were focused on a lead or a few lead vocals. All great songs, but this one is the best!
being a fan of glee since season 1, then hearing this just makes you feel proud. its like your passing something into the new generation. which sound silly cause you're only a fan. a little sad too, realizing the original members will be all gone in mckinley. this song just make you realize that you fell inlove on the show because you can relate to it first before having your otp's. :)
The alternate universe you live in is adorable. Nobody in real life would care if someone was dyslexic or had to repeat a year, especially when they're a popular jock and cheerleader. Jake being half-black hasn't stopped him from being a womanizer. Nobody has bullied Blaine yet for being gay and he's class president. Just because they say they're outcast doesn't mean they are.

The problem with season 4 is not lake of stories, the problem is theire progress. They discuss each problem for 2 minutes of one episode, and than the problem magicly disappears. I am still wondering what is going on with Marley's therapy, who is Sue's baby father, and where does Santana sleeps.

It's all about evolution, not about being "beaten." Glee clubs don't compete with those prior from their own schools. Growing and changing with new voices is what makes it just like any school in the country.
People hate on the new cast because it means less air time for the old cast, I don't think any Gleeks actually HATE the new cast, I like them, but i'd choose a rachael/kurt scene over them any day. I think that's the reason some people are upset. It has just been announced that mercades/mike/puck/brit will no longer be "main cast" and are now guest stars so I can see why people are upset.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like so far there is not much to like or not like about the new characters. So far I feel like the show is focused on the old characters left at McKinley (especially Blaine, Sam and Brittany) and we're not getting much about the new ones. I mean, yes, there has been some minor drama, but nothing that would make me feel closer to them on a personal level - well, maybe except Kitty, they're doing a good job with her. I'll see what happens next season...
Can you people please stop talking shit about the new cast members? They are working so hard. It took the original cast three seasons to be happy, so why can't you give the new cast one season? The show was renewed for two more seasons and I'm sure these cast members will be on it....so please stop saying "rachel is so much better than marley" or "loser like me 2.0" I think the writers are doing great with the new cast, so please stop! It's not fair to them.
I should start by saying i have nothing against the old Glee or Rachel and Finn, but i prefer this equal opportunities version of glee which has a better spread when it comes to singing, and not simply having most of the songs centered around the same two people, there is a better multi-layered story line in this series. i think I've played this song at least ten times now. i must freak out people on the street by singing it. brilliant song hope they do more originals.
it isn't so much that they r ostracized exactly. It's more like they personally feel as though they don't quite fit in anywhere else but with each other. They feel like they r bigger than the town they live in and often they r punished for it-- but there is no outlet for them to express themselves except in song in the glee club. So they feel emotionally (if not always socially) outcast. (also btw just because they haven't filmed as many scenes with bullying doesn't mean it doesn't still happen)

1. Season 3 (Best drama and best couple moments, plus had amazing songs that were waited for by viewers since season 1)
2. Season 4 (Great second half of season but the first half was dull, good songs that are a bit more modern)

Ryan Murphy knows what it's like to be an outcast, he's gay, I bet his life was really hard too. He made a show where he shows that everyone he's special and that the inside counts... he's brilliant an amazing person
i'm probably going to receive major hate for this, but i actually like the newbies just as much as the originals. don't get me wrong, the originals will always have a place in my heart, & i miss them just as much as anyone else would, i just hate the fact that some fans are not as exceptive of ryder, marley, jake, etc. i just don't understand it sometimes. the original members are still here. they're not gone for good & never will be. people just need to realize that there will always be new.
And you know racism is still something that black people fight with to this day. Kitty may not have real problems, but it's clear that she's afraid to be herself. Tina's.. Tina. In the beginning she was so cripplingly shy faked a stutter, so people wouldn't talk to her. I think that's enough to make her an outcast. She's still not extremely outgoing. As for Blaine.. well, Blaine is gay and homophobia is still a factor in everyday's society, unfortunately.
You can be an outcast because of your personality traits. Do you know how many people stray away from people who are with somehow non-conventional thinking? Who somehow don't fit in with them? Yeah, this is what means to an outcast. To feel excluded from everyone else. As for them, Sam was homeless at some point, Brittany failed school and had to repeat the year, Ryder has dyslexia, Marley had a brief encounter with eating disorder and clearly has issues with self-confidence, Jake is half-black
Now that this season's almost over, I think I can rank all of Glee's seasons in terms of best music, collectively:
1. Season 4 (It had a lot of 80s and 90s music, which I just love)
2. Season 1 (The most iconic songs of Glee were done in this season)
3. Season 3 (A balanced mix of old and new songs, with REALLY great tribute songs such as MJ, Whitney, and the Bee Gees)
4. Season 2 (Ugh, too much Top 40...plus the fact that this season's really messed up, story-wise)

I feel like your view of the word "outcast" is kinda off... You don't have to have a physical disability or a different race or a different view of your sexuality to be an outcast. I'm a white, "shiny-haired" girl with "normal" friends and I'm not gay, blind or in a wheelchair and I still feel like an outcast. This group of kids may not be the most popular group nor the most unpopular, but they are individuals that are different and feel like they don't belong. And that's how I see "outcasts"
They all have their problems but you have to agree that they fit in at the high school way more than the original cast did. Blaine is not bullied for being gay like Kurt was. Together with Brittany, he is a cheerio. No one makes fun of Ryder's dyslexia. These kids are basically left alone. They have their strong group of friends and even glee club has lost "loser club" title. It's good that they are not repeating storylines but no, they are not outcasts.
This song trumps Loser Like Me & Light Up The World easily! It uses more natural instruments than the other songs did, which is huge for me. Also, this song symbolizes Glee a lot better; saying that being an outcast is better than being normal; while Loser Like Me simply conveys the message of being better than everyone else. Also this song is more group oriented, while Loser Like Me & Light Up The World were focused on a lead or a few lead vocals. All great songs, but this one is the best!
being a fan of glee since season 1, then hearing this just makes you feel proud. its like your passing something into the new generation. which sound silly cause you're only a fan. a little sad too, realizing the original members will be all gone in mckinley. this song just make you realize that you fell inlove on the show because you can relate to it first before having your otp's. :)
The alternate universe you live in is adorable. Nobody in real life would care if someone was dyslexic or had to repeat a year, especially when they're a popular jock and cheerleader. Jake being half-black hasn't stopped him from being a womanizer. Nobody has bullied Blaine yet for being gay and he's class president. Just because they say they're outcast doesn't mean they are.
How is this group an outcast? I guess I can see Unique and maybe Artie. But Kitty and Brittany are cheerleaders. Ryder is a popular jock. Jake is a popular womanizer. Marley has those two guys wanting her bland self, Blaine is a cheerleader and has had nobody bully him since he came to McKinley. Calling these kids outcast is an insult.
That's totally racist(and FYI, Tina is Asian and Unique is black and Jake is half black and half jewish, but you didn't mention that). Rachel got picked at because she's a bossy bitch who no one likes, Puck and Mike for being at Glee and choosing it over football, and Mercedes wasn't an outcast since she joined the Cheerios. She quit, but the reputation was still there

The problem with season 4 is not lake of stories, the problem is theire progress. They discuss each problem for 2 minutes of one episode, and than the problem magicly disappears. I am still wondering what is going on with Marley's therapy, who is Sue's baby father, and where does Santana sleeps.
ooh, there is. Jake's race past, Ryder's dislexia, Unique's...I don't know how to call it, and Marley gets picked at for being the daughter of the fat lunch lady and most of the glee club sort of hated her for her fainting at Sectionals. So yes, there is need for this song
