It's a great no nonsense SUV and it actually feels solid. Sure the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot are great offerings too but they feel like raised cars and their pricing has been steadily increasing over the years.
I have had my Durango SXT all wheel drive for about two months and I absolutely love it. I do agree Dodge seems to tax the hell out of you for everything I can't believe it did not have blind spot monitor standard 🙄. Everything else fuel economy and suspension is great for me no issues going toe to toe with other chargers and Challengers at all even the upper models. Great vehicle definitely recommend it to anyone.
I got my Durango SRT for the family. Kids love it, Fun to drive. Gas is a pain, but worth it for the power you get. Also the most complements I've ever received on any vehicle I've ever owned.
Great review. I appreciate that you actually compare it to others instead of just posing the question at the beginning and never answering it. So many review titles say is x better than y without answering the question or making a detailed comparison.
“It’s rear wheel drive so I did try to get it sideways”. Yup, that’s why I watch you!👌 I had a 2004 Durango 5.7 Hemi Limited AWD, it handled pretty good also and also rode pretty firm, but the issue was with the all wheel drive system, there was a pretty decent delay in the time it took to kick in and if you were to say kick out the tail on a gravel corner and drift half the corner, it would kick in in the middle of the corner and just about throw you in the ditch. Much the same on an icy corner, if you overcooked it and tried to drift the corner to compensate the AWD would screw up that plan! I just drove a 2021 Edge a few days ago and really liked it, handled great and rode pretty smooth also, I am planning to try a Telluride soon.
Haha I tried and interesting to hear about the Durango's performance hopefully they improved and I think they have. Telluride is a great luxury experience
I love the Penterstar V6 I love to rev them out, but if you plan to purchase a Durango it's best to buy a V8. My grandmother was wanting me to find a replacement for her 14 T&C Limited, and honestly I was looking into a Durango RT or Citadel with the 5.7 but it didn't have enough legroom. She now has a Pacifica Pinnacle, but man I really love the Durango's especially the RT and SRT.
The floaty feeling your feeling in the Durango is because the Durango is still built off Mercedes ML chassis so it’s built for luxury and also the v6 is hella thirsty too. It’s a 25 gallon fuel tank to put that in words the Tahoe is the same size and that’s a full truck
Not that type of float...this is the type of "float" you don't want especially when traveling fast it begins to feel disconnected like you don't know whats going on. A Benz is comfortable but planted even at 120 mph
Cloth seats need to make a comeback!! I would absolutely love the option to get more premium options without needing to upgrade to leather. Granted my experience is limited, but the few fake leathers I've tried were not good at all. Rather have some real high end leather seats or cloth all day.
@@paladin3116 to each his own, I'm clearly in the minority here since automakers clearly despise offering cloth outside of base models. IMO they're just much more comfy until you get into actually nice seats, the mid tier seats are just trash to me
Actually Idk if you guys knew this but in Japan, leather is not the material of luxury used there, it's actually wool or cloth seats. The Toyota Century comes with wool seats and leather is simply an option but the wool is considered the premium choice due to the comfort and how well it keeps a neutral temperature. But majority of society has adopted Leather as the material of choice for luxury cars, this notion most likely came from Europe and Italian goods so we won't be seeing a shift to cloth seats...ever 😅😔 Best cloth seats I have tried tho is in the CX9 Mazda
I have a 2021 Durango GT and my daughter has a 2019 Grand Cherokee. The GT has a better ride but I only have AWD. Her G.C. ride is more stiff, but she has 4WD. We both live in the NE so snow is a factor for us. We will see who is better in snow driving
I loved the driving dynamics of the Durango. The only better driving SUV in my opinion is the CX-9. I ended up going with the Durango for the RWD. Where I live snow comes maybe once or twice a year and lasts literally 1 maybe 2 days so awd is not necessary at all. I love the rwd driving fun
Test drove both the SXT and the GT Durango. Ended up finding that the SXT was not as comfortable or as well riding as the GT. So for the extra few bucks I ended up going with the GT all wheel drive. Got the 3.6 6 cylinder engine. Love the vehicle and if anybody’s looking to purchase one and has the extra few bucks I would suggest going with the GT version.
The GT gives remote start, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, fog lights, a power liftgate, 20-inch wheels, and a dual exhaust (offers 2 more hp) which isn’t offered in the SXT. The GT carries over other standard amenities from the SXT. I do believe the GT also has a slightly better suspension. I could tell there was a difference and it definitely just not the bigger tires that gave it the better ride. I have now had it 6 months and LOVE it! I travel a lot and get the following mpg, 21 /26. No complaints for an SUV this size.
Yea I think these more base models can be had at a decent price but I think something like an RT or up they will start to overcharge customers due to current circumstances
@@MeynMotorGroup Exactly. I just checked my area for new inventory, the Base you can have for under $35k. A brand-new three-row suv for under $40k is very good value. The RT’s were rare, there’s only one in a 50 miles radius of my area and it’s $55k. That’s expensive compared to the base.
