As a keen weekend warrior for my own cars (mainly), and who’s owned a DA Polisher for a couple of years, this is a perfect introduction to the art and by far the best I’ve seen. TBH, I’ve been waiting for you to do this one for a long time. Thank you, Jon. 👍
Just ordered one of these ,just starting to dip my toe into machine polishing and your video helped me decide between this and the older DA8. Cheers for the review
I bought one of these over a week ago completely blind as there were no reviews to be had anywhere on the interwebs. Imran said you had a review coming out shortly. I'm looking forward to this. 😁 EDIT: Looking forward to the deep swirl removal video aye! 👍😊
Jon recommended one of these to buy and I never looked back. Take your time and don’t do large areas and it’s very rewarding ! Personally I find the power cable a pain and would find the extra money to go cordless but if you only using this say three times a year the DA8 is awesome value.
Useful video thank you. What would be fantastic is another polishing video but now a 2 step process. Having followed your video on single stage polishing I feel ready to tackle a 2 step process and I'm sure I'm not alone. Keep up the good work. Great channel.
I need a little advice. I watch all of your content sometimes, 3 to 4 times. Anyway, I think you're the mad scientist of auto detailing. My question is about polishing machines. I currently have liquid Elements 5" & 1". There ok but the 5 " stalls a lot. I just started using it as I am new to detailing. I did figure out how to release pressure to keep it moving. I am interested in the Flex forced rotation 5" & the PXE 80 3". ShineMate has the EB210. FLEX just came out with the 24v cordless line. The Flex XCE 8 125 or the new 24v upgrade. The Flex PXE 80 or ShineMate EB210. Thanks and keep up the good work, you're awesome
Good vid as usual, cheers mate! I personally recommend a Dutch-Chinese combo named Vonroc 21mm DA 1050W, M8 so universal backing plates, and for about 50 quid :) It's a beast
Have you used any of the cheap cordless machines like the Batoca S2 Jon? Would like to see a review of those sort of machines as having a cord can be annoying even if its long.
Hi John, just a quick one, Eurocarparts are selling the xce kit with 2x batteries and charger for a really low price. I wonder how they are making money on this deal.dont know how much longer it is on for but your followers might be interested. Thanks John I really enjoy watching your videos😊.
In my opinion. I dont buy anything from that company. just had problem after problem. been lied to by them. they use images of specific branded high quality products and instead send you cheap generic chinese alternatives, they then lie about root cause and blaim their suppliers. Then that incident with them selling me the spring kit but only sending me one spring and taking 2 months to then tell me they wont honor the contract. in my opinion they are a very shady company. And some of the comments ive had from people that worked their confirm what I suspected. You call them for customer support after waiting an eternity to get through they then transfer you to "head office" and make you wait another 25 minutes. Thats just a means to filter out people. do not buy anything from them you have been warned. Euro Car Sharks
Great review- I have however decided (I think) to get the ryobi cordless polisher. I have really got into car detailing as a hobby and your advice and review are awesome!! I know what pads to get as well. But am torn between 2 brands for cutting/polishing. It would be awesome if you could either recommend or do a video. I am torn between the Koch Chemie range or the Car Tech range as have been hearing great stuff about the later! As always your help and advice would be well received!
Hi Jon, I have a 35ft old 1990's Fibreglass boat that I want to polish. ( yes I know thats a LOT of 2x2ft squares!). Could you add a 6 inch backing plate to this, just to try and increase the coverage with each sweep? What was the spindle with? Great video and some fantastic do's and don'ts for us newbies!
Informative video and pretty sure I’m going to purchase the machine now. One thing, how do you best care for / clean the pads after use, any advice on how to? 🤔
Then you have Shinemate, Griots Garage and Feynmach, which I heard that Polisher is not made in China and really is an excellent polisher. Then you have D.I.Y Detail and their new 25mm DA and Rotary polisher. If you want another premium brand, you have Lake Countries' latest "3 in 1" polisher called the UDOS 31E:)
I've recently been buying 'lumberjack' power tools for household jobs and seen on their site they do DA polishers, just wondered if you've come across them as they're entry level like this 1, as I've been impressed with the power tools, I was thinking of buying the polisher too
they look like standard chinese polishers but we know these are a solid offering to start out with. their prices are good and they got some screen tech on the controls thats nice. They need to add Machine Polishers section in the drop down menu on their site. the polishers are a nightmare to find otherwise. but yer give it a go mate why not.
Bugger, just bought the DA8 as for some reason hadn’t come across this review whilst going through most of your videos on beginners detailing, is it worth to return that and get the DA9? Also going through your vids there are a couple where you recommend the flex purple and orange pads with the Koch Chemi and others the Hex orange and Scholl what are the best combos? Looking back some of the videos are years old Might there be an up to date video coming for beginner detailing? Love the vids mate Cheers
Am about to place my order for one so I can give it a go but am unsure on a couple of bits. Moreso on the pads... Do I need several for one car? I got the impression I'd need 3 or 4 Orange and 3 or 4 White (or Black). Appreciate they can be cleaned but need several for one session ?? Excellent video as always, Thanks Jon
@@ForensicDetailingThanks Jon, am watching now It’s an old Z4, so small car but I don’t believe it’s ever had anything done so want to try and get it right 😊
@@ForensicDetailing Hi Jon, great video but I now have more questions 😀 Was going to order (via your links) the DA9, Orange Pads & White Pads. Do I need black as well? For solution, was going to go with Koch H802 & M201 as per your beginners video from a few years back. In2Detailing don't seem to list M201. Is it discontinued? Do I use M202? or as a first timer, should I use something else? You also mentioned Scholl S3 Gold XXL & S40 in a previous video. Thanks and sorry for all the questions!! The more I watch, the bigger the rabbit hole!!! Thanks again for the help.
On the basis of your review I was thinking of getting the In2detailing DA9 with a 9mm offset orbit and 750 watts of power BUT then I discovered the Das6 pro v2 also with a 9mm offset orbit but with 900 watts of power. Now I can't decide which one to get. Please help me decide. Thanks Tony
Looks like an excellent machine, especially for the price. Speaking of chinese made polishers, have you tried anything by shinemate? I've had the ex620 for a few years and it's amazing.
@@ForensicDetailing well I know you don't need another polisher, but the shinemate ex620 15mm and 21mm are both amazing. The least pad stall I've seen, variable trigger, comfortable etc. Lacking promotion though. Regarding the polisher in your video, I presume it's a UK only thing and not available in 120v for the US market?
I could do with a new DA now that my ten-year-old Kestrel DAS6 Pro 850 watt is getting vibratory with age. Will Imran's polisher work on Saab paintwork?
no hes right the exact same product is on Temu for a fraction of the price. these are also 1 litre chinese sprayers. you can buy 2 litre IK or marolex or kzazar foamers european made for same price. you can get electric pump sprayers for 22 quid lol. my channel is here to protect you from this sort of stuff. companies like this see how much money you pay for the top quality stuff and go buy the chinese stuff and try and sell it in facebook promoted adverts. you have to have some commen sense in life. Hi Jon, are you still planning on doing a follow up to this video where you show us pushing the machine a bit more, on some heavy scratches?
yes mate its in the can.
I personally prefer having the speed control underneath and a trigger. All the Rupes have triggers.
just about to hit buy on a das6 nano... going to have to wait to see your video of the in2detailing mini!

Hi Jon, great video👏👏. I am in the market for a polisher and have narrowed it down to the DA8 or DA9. Given these options which would you choose????
Da9 m8. But either will do. 8 has more power. 9 is lighter cheaper and brushes last longer

Hi Jon. Another great video. Im looking at this machine or the das 6 v2 for slightly more money. Any thoughts please. Keep up the good work.... Ken
I think they are the same specs mate.
DIY detail say different da is more aggressive. As it went through clear coat faster ..
I am looking for my first DA polisher can you tell me which one you would recommend this one or the DA6 Pro, love your video's
