      i would rather you take advice from a mechanic - i don't know how anybody could recommend a used turbo car - honda accords are not that great for longevity - huge heavy car with tiny turbo - every one i see has black soot around the tailpipe. civics are know for oil dilution and problems too. ford edge sport - thats a gamble - won't even get into it

    AVOID TRAX, caused us nightmares. The turbo 1.8L engine failed. Turbo and intake manifold needed to be replaced because of leakage and seal issues.

    I bought a used 2019 Edge SEL after a lot of research, love the car but it was made in 2018 and has the engine that eventually leaks antifreeze into the cylinder. There is a lawsuit going over this because Ford will not issue a recall even though they have done recalls on other vehicles with the same engine. The problem is the lawsuit only covers up to 2018's and mine is a 2019 made in 2018. I have noticed my antifreeze starting to slowly disappear and i only have 59,000 miles on it! Ford needs to recall all vehicles with this engine.

    On the Accord don't buy the 1.5 turbo!! Buy the hybrid or the 2.0. 1.5 has some major issues. Same thing on the CRV buy the base 2.0.

      The problem with a lot of car recommendations these days is they're using older, more reliable and proven powertrains as the basis for assuming a completely different vehicle with an unproven powertrain will be just as reliable. A NA Accord from the past and a turbo Accord today are apples and oranges. It's the same as assuming a 2024 Tacoma will last you 400,000 miles because your 2015 could last that long. The problem is those are 2 entirely different trucks that don't share much DNA.

    You're gonna see a lot of those pathfinders at 80-160k because that's the mileage range when the transmission goes. JATCO junk CVTs, there was a class action because the issue was so widespread and Nissan will not help you, a class action covers model years up to 2018 but not 2019 on. STAY FAR AWAY.

    I have a thing against buying some cars at over 100k miles especially for over 10k. You could easily be walking into spending 5-6k relatively quickly into it. So for that 10k car with 100k+miles you could generally spend that 6k into getting something nicer and with less miles on it. It's a risk assessment anybody buying a car has to do before lunging into it.

    “Never buy a salvage title” What?!?! This guy is ridiculous! If you just do your research and know where the work was done and have it checked out by the dealership or a trusted mechanic you are better off with a salvage title. This guy has some good points, but this isn’t one.

    • @kaym7704
      @kaym7704 8 днів тому +2

      If you’re planning to keep it until it dies…sure. If you plan to resell, a salvage title is a hard pass for me. Not many people want to put time and money into figuring out how bad the damage was when buying used.
