I'm from Mexico and I believe the fruit is native to Mexico and other central American countries, it might be native to Jamaica too but I'm not sure if it is or it was introduced some time in the past.. This fruit is amazing to hear about will continue to research this fruit and its benefits. We just discovered the fruit of life thats in the Bible.
Never knew this fruit was in Jamaica 🇯🇲!! Its the family of the Perimssson AKA Sharon fruit!! Very popular in UK. Very sweet and fleshy. Didn't know it is so beneficial to health. Thanks much!!!
Sharon I was looking for someone who thought it was the same family as Persimon! My husband bought me a box yesterday and there is yet another similar fruit on his land in Italy, orange colour like the Persimon.
Greetings - what parish is this as I truly didn't know that Black Sapote grows in Jam Down. It makes a delicious chocolate smoothie that I consume here in Florida whenever I can get it at the market. The golden and ivory version is more commonly available.
I found the mame sapote in the frozen food aisle (Spanish foods) this one is orange.frozen pulp and can be eaten frozen, my first drink was sapote, ginger, lime juice ,1 pineapple,1 beetroot . Blend all ingredients. I mix it with soursop cow milk and condensed milk,it’s like liquid ice cream
There is a guy from the Blue Mountains area and he said if you take with raw honey its like a medicine for good health and strehgth make you strong amd he said it helps improve digestion.

Mi like you channel mon a lot of these fruits I never know existed in Jamaica 🇯🇲 because coming up i never see them I see some of in foreign so channel very informative and it seem like some of these fruits pop up in Jamaica in the last 20 years or so.

It is a fruit that has a smooth silky taste that is not very sweet. It's exceptionally delicious when it is very ripe. When I showed it to my husband he said there is a tree where he came from and no one ate it because they called it duppy fruit. After he saw me eating it he tried it and now I can hardly get any for myself. The casing which contains the seed tastes like star apple
Hi there, I am so happy to come up on your channel. I love this fruit. I got one some years ago after I saw it first on the internet. It is a cousin fruit to Nesberry. And when I tasted it I was surprised and excited. But I could not know where to get it. So I would like to know where in the Montego bay market can I locate Ms June and her husband to get some of the Sapote. Please!
Sure Carol. She sells in the Montego Bay food market on Fridays. Contact is 876-406-1266 or Son: 876-483-2434. Contact is also in the description below.
This fruit and its leaves look similar to the Apple. The core is the same this looks similar to the Apple species GRANNY SMITH. It is the same colour green and very tangy and crisp. This fruit us smaller than the Star Apples I have at home. You can see the iron in it once the air gets to it. The same happens when you cut apples of any species.
This fruit seems a variety of the "persimmons fruit". The wood of this plant was, in the past, used to make the golf club shafts and also the head of Drivers and Fairway Woods. This should be a good export fruit. Mr. Mc, probably does not know, that by pruning the top of fruit trees letting them spread produces more fruit, the fruit is now lower to the ground and facilitates easier reaping. You may contact your friend Ron T. to get in touch with me. I would not mind that at all.
Yes. I have seen this in slow motion. In Jamaica, the wild breadfruit trees usually grow very tall. When my dad planted one at home. He would be continually cutting the growing stalks. The result was that it was different from the wild growth. At maturity, it was shorter, had a wider spread and easier to reach bounty.
