- CONGRATULATIONS to student Ross on completing his Qualifying Cross Country 🎉 Mated brief and daily inspection done, it was back to the flying school for a pre-solo nav brief with Capt White. Auth sheet complete and with QXC certificate in hand, Ross headed down to the heli apron. We jump aboard for his last leg, back to base from Turweston. And having found a gap in the weather suitable for his QXC he did have a surprise shower to manage on his way home and you did it like a boss, Ross!
"Wow wow WOW are words to describe the QXC experience. Fellow students and captains who shared their love for 3rd big step towards a PPL(H) added determination to achieve it. The skills that are installed into you from all the training up to this point, finally mesh together for this moment. The pre-flight brief from Capt White really prepared me for what lay ahead (like she's some kind of fortune teller) and gave a needed confidence boost. The last leg presented its challenges and all the advice given during the brief came into play, which ultimately made it the most rewarding 3hrs in history. This last leg was definitely the most demanding. The constant lookout , trying to find the most suitable and safe course of action dealing with the weather was a great experience.
