- It is an utter disgrace that Gary Lineker and other pundits are saying that Nick Pope should have his red card rescinded.

The rules are the rules, but the fact they carry between competitions is dumb
It’s a ban from the FA they are both FA competitions.. not rocket science!
@@GGMU1987its still a different compentition you mong
I thought explained it in the most simple way possible but you still seem to be struggling..
They should apply to ALL competitions like they do in rugby.
I think card punishments should be contained to their competition, but rules are rules
Spot on
So if you get a red card in a league cup semi and get knocked out the card should carry over to next seasons competition?
Then the last match of every season will be filled with red cards and injuries.
@@FOOTIATOR no because you just carry the cards over for the start of next season
@@celtic69 Does it matter, you've been knocked out, which is all that matters.
The bit that's been glossed over in their plead to "let Pope play", is that Bruno Guimaraes got a red card in the semi-final and playing in the final due to this very same rule...
As a newcastle fan i accept the rule as it is. If i could change it i would make it so red cards do not carry over into separate competitions though. People saying were lucky to have bruno must have missed the 3 games we played without him lmao and we didnt win a single one
@@Warrandpeace I agree with the rules bit. Just doesn't make sense to intertwine competitions at all. You have no idea how glad I was that the Leeds game was rescheduled to that midweek otherwise Casemiro's missing the final as well. Dunno why they changed it in the first place at all if I'm being honest.
@@Warrandpeace yes but then u could get a red card if ur 4-0 down in carabao cup and serve no consequences
@@camyeoman4180 isnt that how it works with things like the champions league? I dont see why domestic cups would carry over but not european ones when they are essentially the same thing
Rules are the rules and should be lived by, so Pope shouldn't play. However, there is a discussion to have about wether the rules should change. I think it's better to lock it per competition. Just like it is with the ucl, if you get a red card you serve it in that competition. If your team is out, you serve it next season in that competition..
What if he's not at the club next season? Or what if the team isn't in the competition next season?
No its a uefa club competition ban. If you got red carded in champions league and your club dropped down to the europa at the end of the group stage youd still be suspended
Given how this week has gone, it wouldn't surprise me to see Loris have world class performance for just this game against us smh
As a Newcastle fan, it's sad for him. But he wouldn't have changed the match for us.
You're a proper football fan😊
Hahaha Rory is ever so lively
He should serve his ban in the premier league as the league cup is a whole other competition
Hasn't worked that way for years why change the rules now?
@@BillyJacobs94 if you had asked me before I would have assumed the rules were as I just stated. Seems like a dumb rule to me
By that logic, Bruno should've been suspended for Newcastle in the final because he picked up a red in the semi finals
@@abrar_hasanatand that’s the logic that should apply…
@@Foos3yOW so if a player tackles someone and gets sent off in a cup final then what happens.? He just gets away with it?
"I am buzzing to see karrius line up on Saturday" that aged well
Karius was ok tbf
@@mad576wastaken yeah that’s the point of the comment I’m pretty sure
Red cards should always be served on the same competition.
It’s a ban from the FA. They’re both FA competitions, pretty simple
Rory is a pure legend 😂😂 gotta love him
He should of just chested it down if he missed the header clearance to maintain possession as he gets back up not try and collect it
When should he serve his ban? In the premier league where he actually received the red card.
Not a Newcastle fan but a red in the prem shouldn’t matter for the cup games 🤷♂️

@@jakecortez4795 banned for next seasons first cup game…
@@johnsxn661 and what if the player retires? or moves to another league?
People said it should stay in the competition and whatever but we wouldn’t of had Bruno
Can’t wait 😂
They can just appeal it and he would play can’t he?
Why would they appeal it tho
It’s the most obvious red ever
Everyone’s just upset man United will win
@@bh6921 You make it sound like a foregone conclusion.
@@armandbergmannjohannessonkeep in mind when u fail an appeal, you get another game added on
@@CauseImDuncan We aren't going to appeal it. The ban will likely be one game, there wasn't any violent conduct involved.
Pope is a key player for us, but people are acting like we've already lost. We have the best defence in the league and that isn't just down to the goalkeeper, our back 4 has been immense this season bar a couple of games. Karius might not even have to make a save.
Nick Pope just saved newcastle yesterday against Chealsea
The fact karius was just a liverpool gk couple years ago
Prem error, prem ban , cup error, cup ban
Chelsea really getting To This Guy now
The reason people think he should of stayed is because he got the red card in a league game and the final is a league cup
Suspension should happen in the same competition if you get a red in prem you should be suspended for the next prem game but not cup game like accumulation of yellow cards I don’t get why FA has this rule ? Also if you get suspended in a cup competition and you’re team doesn’t proceed next suspension should be in the next season like in Spain
I don’t think it should carry over to a cup competition though because it was in the prem
Why did he play against city ? Am I stupid 😂
Although I agree......... The rule is idiotic. Red card in the league should mean a van in a league game
In Italy a league suspension wouldn't impact the cup, I think that makes more sense? But since in England they don't do that, Pope should have been aware of that because that was a stupid play.
@harveysmith409 you do, you just face it in the next round you play. Should a red card in a CL game impact your domestic league?
@@ZoogaZigCL is different. English Leagues are connected. Learn something
It happened in the pl so he should miss the next pl game
Karius is the definition of anyone can make it pro if you have a football background
he was good in the final. deserves to be ahead of dubravka I reckon
I really like this he has overcome a lot and still is trying his best to support his family. Rip to his mother and I hope he is successful in whatever he does
Ha he off again
His lips move but nothing really comes out tbh lol
He needs to constraint on his own team arsenal or is it Chelsea 😜who really knows with this guy lol
This guy makes me embarrassed as a chelsea fan
Tbf if red cards didn’t carry over between competitions then Bruno G wouldn’t be playing in the final after his red card so
United fan and rules are rules but I do think it should be served in the same competition as got so should serve it in premier league in my opinion but unfortunately that’s not the rules so he has to miss it so idiotic of him
well they should not have given Felix a 3-match ban then. 🙄
Should serve it in the premier league as it happened in the premier league
Next 3 league games
He did it in the league not in the cup so I think he should've served it
i didn't see this but spot on
Well how come he gets a red card In the league he gets suspended from the cup they are 2 different things
Perfect Peter you don't make mistakes do you
it would be fine but guimares can’t play then
I hope he wasn't so happy just because he can laugh at him
I think this guy shouldn’t have an opinion on football
Rare Rory W
Personally I think Pope should've been able to play but Bruno Guimaraes should've been banned for the final for getting a red card in the semi final it makes no sense
I think the reasoning behind it is that it would be strange to have him play the very next game, potentially against the same opponent albeit in a different competition after having received a red card. I understand why the red carries on to the next game within the country's football framework. So if it's a 3 game ban, he'd miss only F.A. Cup or league cup weekends and potentially play every league game between until the next F.A. cup game. Imagine getting a red on F.A. cup Saturday when you're knocked out and then lining up to potentially play the same team in the next week and then having to wait till the next season to serve your ban potentially vs a team against whom there's no jeopardy in being banned for in the early stages.
@@BlackChrishi I understand why it's done that way but I feel it should be done in another way for example; if the players team is still in a competition then the ban should be upheld in that competition, if the ban isn't able to be carried out in full duration then the ban would then be carried out in the other domestic competitions.
This is the guy who said Haaland wouldn't score 15 goals
Most average United fan💀
In a league match
It is weird that cards aren't locked to their own competitions but thems the naff rules
@YE24 Clips 🇷🇺 Next season in that cup competition... that's how it works with most competition actually. Champions league for example, world cup (qualifiers)... it happens a lot where a ban is served the next season ,especially in ucl (and europa + conference league).
@YE24 Clips 🇷🇺 in the next cup game like when you get a red card on the last league game of the season you will be banned for the next league game (the first of the next season)
Not a Newcastle fan but imo u should serve your suspension for the competition you got the red card in
The suggestion that you can comment on anything football related is the real nonsense
Rory a Chelsea supporter since 2003.
They need to make an orange card for being sent straight off but can still play the next game
mourinho would be fuming
No they should Simply make that ban for the premier League and not for the cup
Keep forgetting these UA-camrs are footballing experts 😂😂😂
What cup final
2 different competitions. Casemiro played against barca but you weren't protesting against that so why you protesting for this decision?
How about serving it in the league. You know, the competition he got banned in. Not just him either. All reds.
so if a player tackles someone and gets sent off in a cup final then what happens.? He just gets away with it?
As a newcastle fan, it can be a bit rough watching you latley Rory lad.
Can't argue with what he's said though.
Worry about Chelsea Rory
Cause he is English
It is a stupid rule though… he got the red in the premier league not the carabao. The rule needs changing (neutral fan)

@@jakecortez4795 the consequence is that he gets a red card and the team goes down to ten men for the rest of the cup final. he literally did NOT get away with it. that shouldn't translate into another competition.

You really hate Newcastle don’t you
Do you like nufc btw he doesn't have a girlfriend
Why would we like Saudi Arabia FC
mate the point is the fa have been giving inconsistent suspensions in terms of when they get served. You always state everything as monolithic fact and you're so wrong so often.
What the fuck are you on about? Suspensions are incredibly consistent because they are not subjective. The rules are already in place as guidelines. Just because you don’t know the rules, that doesn’t make them inconsistent. Just pure waffle.
Just out of interest, when have there been inconsistencies in terms of this?
@@young_raymond47 Harry Maguire two yellow cards in the league cup and gets suspended for the next league cup game. Bruno Guimaraes gets a red card in the league cup gets suspended for three premier league games. Casemiro gets a red card in the premier league and gets a three game ban. Nick pope gets red card in premier league game and only gets one game ban for the next league cup game. Don’t @ me yute
@@RebelScumThis well you prolly know that there are different lengths of suspension depending on the severity of the red card. The suspensions are consistent with the rules that have been set, as dumb as the rules may be.
@@IM_7031 precisely the rules are dumb
100% disagree. The red card was earned during a premier league match. The suspension should only apply to the premier league. The EFL cup is a completely separate tournament so the red card should not apply.
That’s like saying a red card earned in the efl cup should require suspension in the next champions league game.
Cards and penalties should not carry through to separate tournaments
I’m sure Utd wouod happily let pope play if it means Bruno G can’t
So you're saying Bruno G should've been suspended for the final instead? As a United fan, I'd love to let Pope play if it meant Bruno G doesn't

Shut up stop mocking him Geordie here and he is the best keeper in the world so beat it
Another awful take.
I find it odd that a premier league red card is served in the Carabao Cup. They should be separate.
They are done and operated both by the fa and even if it wasn’t if a player tackles someone and gets sent off in a cup final then what happens.? He just gets away with it?

It's a separated competition, it's even Pope fault but dude how can you make a player not play a game for a Red card IN A SEPARATED COMPETITION, it's like if you get a Red in the premier League and you can't play a Champions League semifinal
@@L.death_note978 well it was the "league" cup and a domestic competition, I get it although I woulda rather had Pope in goal, could of been a very different outcome , there's always next season 💪
@@jamesbernstone2961 yeah next season It Will be different 🔥 but to be honest It isn't a Cup with any real link (apart from the country) to the prem, so it's a bit unfair to any player Who get a Red there (still think pope did a stupid thing to get that Red tbh)

bruno guimaraes sent off in semi final. direct red. so pick your poison, if pope “should” play then that means bruno “should” not play. you cant have it both ways
I thought if a red card is in premier league then its for the nexr pl match not the very next match
Tbf.
If he receives the red card in the Premier League than he should only be suspended in the premier league.
If he receives a red in Fa cup, only suspended in FA cup.
So on and so on.
It should really be like the UCL.
Your ban should not go across competitions. It should ONLY be in the same competition.
Fair enough?
Not really players used to get cards on purpose to miss league matches to be fully fit for the cup and the clubs they were part of backed it. It's basically like Mourinho's Real were he got Ramos and some other guy to purposely get red cards to miss the next UCL game instead of risking them missing a more important UCL fixture after the groups if I remember correctly
